good luck back in the pool yours and the original comments strike me as being unnecessarily patronizing. I never let myself get out of shape to begin with. I am on MFP to get back to a reasonable competition weight for the Transplant Games and for other reasons. so getting unsolicited advice about the blatantly obvious is…

why? how does that sally machine make up for any of the other shortcomings of the sally? or since it's double axle, is this the shirley machine?

cool, guys and good luck in all the endeavors!

FORK PUT DOWNS!!!!!

suggestion: downgrade from "strenuous" to the next lighter. this way, you won't overstate exercise in the logging.

take a look at Augustus Gloop from the original movie. If you are old enough to have seen it in the theater or in early-runs on TV, you'll recall how nearly absurdly fat he was. Now he looks on the thinner side of humanity... Keep on working out, keep on losing until you're happy! then maintain the hell out of it! and rock…

"judging" = "calling my BS out" "elitist" = "people who work harder than I do, making me realize that I'm not" Re: "you're taking my squat rack" WRONG. If you're squatting, you're good. it's the long-time squat rack curl monkeys who are the problem. (also, up to a point, you can clean the weight to rack position for squats)

and a third- or fourth-best alternative to weights... for those who "train" -- for what are you training? to me that entails for a specific event / sport (e.g., BJJ with or w/o competition; a 1/2 marathon, etc), whereas "working out" is "exercise with a program and progression"... semantics at this point, but I'm just…

starting strength, stronglifts. you start with the bar. basic beginner's linear progression program. maybe some assistance like planks. starting strength dot com is as good a place as any to start. with good form (It's fair to say that the people you know who claim to have hurt themselves were using poor form or too much…

nice swim! awesome improvement! yay! 2300 + dryland today. nice and easy fun!

um, yeah. thanks, i guess. 2000 yds isn't even 30 minutes. it's slow and mellow. not sure how that's "restarted with a bang" by any stretch of the imagination...

"I always got that vibe" = "my insecurities projected and created said vibe", perhaps? PF makes everybody else unwelcome, particularly if they're working "too hard". My friend got lunked and asked to "tone it down" when he did a finishing set of burpees. My personal thing that I don't think "they" realize is that working…

"it's all over the internet" = "it's what I want to believe and pretend is right. therefore it must be right. therefore I don't have any obligation to show backing for my claim". c'mon, dude, even the Powell point was, you know, like an effort... there's crap all over the internet about anti vax, faux gluten problems,…

actually, Jo - muscle confusion is like so totally real. I get dressed in my workout clothes, bag ready. etc. Walk up to the gym, and turn around and go home. confuses the hell out of 'em.

as troll jobs go, this is entertaining, not that inflammatory (although there are enough "bash on" (with the unnecessary preposition) statements to keep the pot stirred), fun in that being Stepfordized or even Leaving it to Beaver are so outre, that pretty much everybody would laugh at it... I give this a solid B+ or 8/10.…

*note to self. snakes are now insufficient*

pred is definitely a toughie. agreed that it's a constant struggle. I go about it with working on CV fitness, both endurance and sprint; working on increasing strength (squats, deadlifts, press). "clean" diet is also crucial. all of these are duhs, but nodding to Uchuha, it's really hard. focus on the elements that are…

lol wat?

none none none none none none none none...

1500, + dryland good time. time constrained today.
-
go by how you feel and respond. don't worry about other times or "if it's good" or not. be consistent and focus on you, not what someone else is doing.
-
I've heard "fork put-downs" are an effective to accomplish this
-
yeah, but all that loose skin can be perfect this time of year. you know, paint it blue and he could go as batman. get a kick-*kitten* leather codpiece and a utility belt from the AV guy at the high school, and boom! perfect!

2000. felt better than Thursday! yay!

awesome!
-
totally. this is a marathon - good days and bad. keeping honest track like what you did is also great for long-term success. you can check back and get a true gauge of what you've accomplished
-
this. if your goals include a faster time, then program appropriately and kick *kitten*! if you're satisfied, it doesn't matter what someone else does.

I look at my transplant scar. Someone died and checked "yes" on his driver's license. I cosmically owe him one. So I give his gift of life the best possible home. "you can't out work a bad diet" is a fave. "you can always try" is a fun answer to refocus :) cheerio
