Have you tried your same walk wearing a hrm both with and without poles? I would trust the real world test of a friend more than an article. I was just in the same position, I needed protein but not more carbs (I'm not low carb, I just get plenty,) and not much suger. Plus I needed it to be affordable. I got Body Fortress and I am very happy with it.
