Hi O_M, Just a thought with the ED and empty cupboards - would it be helpful to buy a big, cheap bag of brown rice, then fill up jam jars and fill the cupboards with them? With some cheap cans of beans? Maybe it is a silly idea, but I too panic when food supplies run low so I understand that desperate feeling when seeing…

That is an excellent point, vrs - some produce is more important for organic, especially apples, blueberries, meat, dairy products.

Snacks - organic fruit & peanut butter, vegetables & hummus We can only afford organic for our family of 4 by eating less - so just a basic foundation of fruits, vegetables, a whole chicken, rice, and beans - then we use non-organic seasonings as that is what we happen to have in the cupboard. But, we are pretty boring…

How is it going for you, Fruitsalad? Have you noticed any results? I've just started and can't wait to see if I look leaner or feel fitter in a month!

Welcome Kat! Sorry to hear of your PE. I also had a PE pretty much right after joining MFP, around 7 weeks ago. How are you with exercise now? I'm just doing fast walking, too scared to try anything more! I am 33 and live in the UK. Hope your weight loss goes well.

I'm in, if I'm not too late! Just had a PE in Feb. and am on Warfarin until mid-August. Exercise limited to walking at the moment but hope to get back to Jillian Michaels DVDs in the summer. Have you been able to exercise as you'd like on Warfarin? Does it seem to have any effects on INR?
-
How did your INR go? I've been on Warfarin for about 2 weeks now, and it has settled pretty quickly - but I'm taking the approach of avoiding things with vitamin K as I'm only on it for 3 months, and don't want to have to keep changing doses. Not sure it if is a great plan, in fact it probably isn't, but I worry about the…

Thank you both for your kind words. The wildest exercise I'm doing now and for about 3 more months of Warfarin, is breathing! With a bit of slow shuffling! Can't wait to get all better though!!!!!

Just an update - that hurt ribs feeling got worse and I finally went to A&E, where they did a scan that found a big pulmonary embolism, blood clot on the lung. By then my right lung was barely functioning and I could only breathe in little puffs. I'm finally home again but it was a very scary experience! So if you hear…

Thanks everyone. I like the housecleaning tip - my house could definitely use it! Also the Ace bandage tip might make me look a bit skinnier...silver lining to every cloud!

Thanks Kell! Great to hear that it might only take a couple of weeks, that is heartening!! I am walking like a 90 year old at the mo!
-
The nurse's advice was to keep active, i.e. not stay in bed, but I'm struggling to find much to do that doesn't make me breathe harder. Cause, well, I'm REALLY unfit!!! Just don't want to gain loads while I wait to get better!

Aww wow, I love your story so much. I'm a size UK16 after having 2 babies and you're my new inspiration!!

I seem to put on around 3 pounds before my period, then it disappears when my period is over. Weird, isn't it? I suppose our bodies are preparing for a possible pregnancy or something??
-
Don't worry, we'll take your word for it! (: 28 lbs lost is an AMAZING result!
-
My thoughts exactly! Thank you so much for sharing - so inspirational.

Maybe climbing stairs or using a stair stepper machine? I too lost loads with BFing, in fact it got me to my lowest BMI ever without worrying about food. But was also carrying my baby in a sling so it was hard work, plus running after a toddler. Best exercise programme ever (;
