I love your pun!!!

Wow-it's like two completely different people! Fantastic!

Long story short: it CAN be done but don't kid yourself. It's gonna be the fight of your life. It's totally worth it though.

Electric pressure cookers are the best! Just make absolutely sure you add a cup of liquid to each recipe or the pot will be irreparably damaged. And don't cook frozen food in it, the food will come out rubbery and tasteless. You can make plenty of tasty recipes in it. I like to make soups or ribs.

The stories here are jogging memories, oh so painful! But, in some ways it's healing and I'm really glad this thread is here. I've binged on chocolate and froot loops and when I did it, I was totally humiliated. Those days are mostly over and I'm glad of it.

how about a caramel apple that has been dipped in nuts? Or the individual creme eggs you can buy at the drugstore. I've done both and they do quiet my sweet tooth.

This is the best thread ever!! Love the stories, peeps!

my scale varies a bit too and sometimes I get discouraged. You might try using measuring tape instead, particularly if you are exercising. You can lose inches but not weight with exercise. For me, the scale barely budges, but I've gone down one pant size and one belt size, so something is changing.

They make smaller ice cream sandwiches now, they are great for those awful cravings...

You can get the child's meal which will include apples and a smaller portion of fries. But yeah, fast food is not only unhealthy but actually damaging. It strains your kidneys, liver and all that sugar is hard on your entire digestive system. I eat fast food sometimes, but it's so unhealthy, it's getting easier for me to…

Hurray!!!

Had a rough weekend, ate some ice cream. But I'm back on the diet, and I rode my bike for 30 minutes. Onwards and upwards, folks!

I am eating 1200 calories a day but I'm middle aged and every single pound is a fight to the death. I think it depends on your goals and how much you need to lose and also your age. I started eating at 1450 calories a day and plenty of exercise, lost some weight, stalled and so I dropped down to 1200. The weight has…

Well, I had hoped for 184 as my August goal weight but I'm not quite there. Still, I am progressing so I'll have to be content with that. I am going to raise my goals slightly for September and see if I can't speed things up a bit. SW=197 CW=187 GW for August=184 UGW=135

Unfortunately, it'll only get slower and your fat cells become incredibly stubborn. You are going to have to become extremely good about exercising and NOT cheating. After 40, you gotta be absolutely dedicated or the weight comes zooming back and never leaves. It's sad but it's true. Put down the fork and pick up the jump…

Don't forget, you will need three meals a day and 2 snacks as well. This keeps your blood sugar stable and helps muffle the cravings. Try a mix of fruits and proteins for snacks. Apples and peanut butter, stuff like that. I eat almonds, triscuits, apples, melons, avocado slices, cheese. Mix 'em up and it'll help alot and…

I got started after I was always feeling tired and ill. I went to see a nutrionist and the results were amazing. I felt sooo much better, just eating right and exercising. It's been a constant struggle and I often fall off the wagon but slowly, very slowly, I progress.

Plateaus are a nasty part of dieting but they can be defeated. Just stay the course, up your exercise a tiny bit, cut down on food a tiny bit and be prepared to be patient. I was stuck for 10 days and thought I'd lose my mind! Then voila! 3 pounds gone, poof!

Be careful at Chili's! I ordered a cheeseburger and was horrified to find out it was over 1,,000 calories! Seriously, that was just the burger, not including the fries or drinks or anything. Stick to the salads, fish, steak or veggies. Those are all good and not very fattening.

Ugh. Seem to have plateaued. Can't get past 190.8. I bike for an hour and watch what I eat, but I seem to be stuck. Bleah.
-
It's working! Another pound gone!!!
-
Okay, 2 days in and so far, so good. I rode my bike for a full hour today!

This group is brilliant, thanks for whoever started it. Anyway, here are my stats: GW-140 CW-189 End of August Weight 184 Wish me luck!

South Texas! Yeah!

Holy cow, I've got to stop reading this or I'm gonna fall off the wagon big time! But my answer: McDonalds. I loved that place.

Well, I'm not sure why you aren't losing weight but I have the same problem. I exercise everyday, am usually at my calorie goal but my weight loss has been absolutely minimal. It's a long road and perhaps you just have to keep hammering away at it until your body gets the message. And yes, do go see both an MD and a…

I'm estimating a gallon a day, but I have a sedentary job. After I work out in the mornings, it's all rest and air conditioning.

I get up before dawn, eat a quick breakfast, digest quietly for a few minutes and I begin. I keep going until I have to stop to get ready for work. I hate getting up early but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
