  • I think it's mostly genetics + age whether someone will, or won't, have sagging skin after a large weight loss.
  • I always buy coats & jackets with turned up cuffs. That way you can just turn down the cuffs and then the sleeves are long enough. Really limits your choice though.
  • Dang, I can't see the pictures. I'm using IE 10. I just get a black x when the pic should be.
  • You might want to always weigh yourself in the morning, naked and after going to the bathroom. That gives you a real baseline and a better idea of what's going on.
  • Thanks to everyone who replied. I agree with the majority of you that while symptoms can be controlled by lifestyle choices, there is no actual "cure" that will allow us to eat that pan of brownies without massive BS consequences. I'm currently seeing a homeopath and she's got me on some remedies that might prove…
  • I'm 5'11", size 12 shoe, and when people ask me in the store to reach something from the top shelf I say "What makes you think I can reach that?" and we usually share a chuckle. The hardest part is trying to fit into airline seats. Quelle claustrophobia! And because sleeves are always too short. I do better with trouser…
  • Here's another myth: drink tons of water Total hogwash. All it does is water down your intercellular fluids - sometimes dangerously.
  • I can't see ANY of the photos that people post. I can see their profile pictures, but that's it. Any recommendations? Doesn't seem to matter which computer I'm on either. Thanks! Laurel
  • Whenever I diet I get constipated. It happens when I'm low-carb, or just reduced calorie. Doesn't matter, it all ends up causing trouble in the bathroom. When I was low-carb I had to take SIX fiber pills every day or suffer the consequences. I can fix it just by eating more, but then I wouldn't lose any weight, argh.…
  • If you eat too little (stress) and workout too hard (stress) your body will fight the weight loss and lower your metabolism. Some people claim that once you've dieted like that that it becomes much harder to lose next time. It only takes 5-7 days of hard dieting (about 1500 calories) for my body to kick into starvation…
  • I think that if you don't eat enough your body will go into starvation mode, just my opinion here. You might want to try eating right at your MFP recommendations, instead of under, and see what happens. Same goes for over training. You could cut it back by half and your body will probably thank you.
  • My grandma was always a skinny little thing and she had the worst case of Type II Diabetes ever! She eventually had both legs amputated and lost the sight in both eyes. There are lots of normal weight people with T2D.... unfortunately.
  • Did you really get rid of your diabetes? You don't look old enough to have had it.
  • Wow, you lost 159 lbs? Did you do it by sticking to the MFP recommendation? Or were you following low-carb, or low-fat....?
  • Get the recipes from your cooking group and enter them into the Recipe calculator on myfitnesspal. It will do all the calculations for you if you can get the number of servings right.
