I have a diet high in fat, but it's animal fat not processed garbage. I also do not consume refined sugar or a lot of starchy carbs, but some ppl do fine on a diet that is fairly balanced across all macros, consuming animal fat or vegetable fat only (not vegetable oils, but the fats in whole vegetables, let's be clear),…

Anyone who disses another's diet based on their own ignorance/self-importance? Is a troll, I mean. Soooo sick of the ppl who think every one should be following the same diet plan and that eating mainly whole foods is moronic. Even better, those that argue against cutting out the "sugar food group" Yes, these are…

I'm just not thirsty, so I forget to drink. My plan should probably be alarms throughout the day :drinker:

My doctor has a cartoon on his wall of a doctor saying to a patient "You can exercise one hour a day or be dead 24 hours a day. Which better fits your schedule." When it comes down to my myofascial pain and resistance (tension bands) exercise, I've been told that even 10 minutes 3 or more times a day will make a…

Wow. Thank you. This will def help me out :flowerforyou:

I have reactive hypoglycemia with severe symptoms in the face of even a moderate carb intake. Wheat in particular upsets my GI but any starch has the potential to do the same. Medically I have been advised to avoid starches, processed foods, and wheat products. The trouble is I am a huge fiend for carbs, and especially…

How do I increase my potassium intake without also increasing my net carb intake? And without taking pills.

It's making my fat disappear. I have lost a total of 5 inches just around my waist, and had lost a total 21 lbs until I ate way too many carbs one week. I really wish ppl would use Google scholar to research diet science before they say one thing or another works or not. Cutting carbs does work, for some ppl, and there is…

I'm the one who stuffed my face with all the wrong foods. Having said that, my parents did instill some bad eating habits. We had to clean our plates, hungry or not, and I still battle that compulsion. Also grazing; grazing while meals were being made was always huge and is another thing I need to remind myself to not do…

That's what hospitals use for their patients. For some reason the idea of OP sharing her stretcher with others made me lol so hard  (Not making fun of you, just sharing my visual)

I remember my nephew doing something like this when he was a toddler, "I don yike you any moe". Typical toddler attention seeking. This site is for adults, so, BAI!

I try to post everything, but some days I let those little things slide.

Cognitive dissonance. Never challenge a person's firmly held belief unless you're gearing for a fight.

It's hard to make judgements without seeing your food diary. Question: what kind of peanut butter? Is there more than one ingredient on the list? Also looks like a ton of protein in your diet which could slow or halt progress. Not to menation if your BF is around 15% you really don't have any fat to burn. Another question,…

Except multivitamins are cheaper.

This does not work for me, as I'm sure it does not work for diabetics either. I can not consume anything I want and I do need to "eat clean". Before someone points out that calorie deficits and blood sugar spikes are separate issues, let me assure you they are not. Eating refined carbs and sugars (even from a big bowl of…

Does that make it easier for you to understand? Does this help you to not get hung up on semantics? Do you like to argue semantics in a pathetic attempt to prove yourself right in all situations? Maybe I should make it even easier for you: you're right, I'm wrong. If that does not make you happy either then all I have to…

Since you missed it the first time, let me quote here for you Geezus, read a person's post in entirety before you flip-out.

Has it been said yet? If you want to flush toxins for better health then drink lots of water. This is scientifically sound. If you want to do a juice diet for the added vitamins and minerals, there are better ways to do it; multivitamins are great for the lazy/low eaters, otherwise just incorporate fruit and veg. Hell, do…

Are you tracking carbs or net carbs? There's a huge difference in how it affects how many carbs you can eat. total carbs - carbs from fibre = net carbs eg 10g carbs - 7g fibre = 3 net carbs. You can eat as much fibre as you want which is why dark green veggies are key. Stick to low carb, high fibre veg and fruit and you'll…

Doesn't have to be a recipe per se, but seeing the types of foods ppl add to their smoothies will be great for teaching me how to make a wider variety. Thanks for your input!

From experience the powders add thickness, nutrition, and flavour. So if I made a shake sans powder I'd have a watery drink that's probably not very filling, maybe not as nutritious as it could be, plus the taste may not be all that great either. I could add ice for thickness, but that would dilute any flavour even more…

The bagel would consist of a cheat for me as I need to avoid wheat, starches and refined sugars. So, a hearty bowl of oatmeal with berries, vanilla, and sweetener would be a perfectly good meal for most but for me would be a sinful cheat meal. Just like a few tablespoons of sugar-free whipped cream is perfectly acceptable…

Now that I've gained all this weight, I still see some men looking at me but I no longer think they're checking me out (checking out a fat girl? c'mon :p ) Sometimes the dudes will smile if I meet their eyes and at that point I like to think maybe they're checking me out. My bf says I'm still smokin' hawt and not near as…

When it comes to reducing one particular macro due to health reasons, the whole "split it how you like" thing doesn't really work. But I'm sure you know that. I do a low carb high fat so I can't comment on the protein aspect of your diet, but your NET carbs should be around 5-15%. And by net carbs that means: total carbs -…

Definitely the beginnings of muscle definition. Yay you! :drinker:

I was originally diagnosed with fibro and given the ole "there's not much we can do" speech. After fighting with health care I have now been diagnosed with myofascial pain syndrome, central sensitization, arthritis, Willis-Ekbom disease (which now I find out might actually be depleted iron stores) and of course degenerated…

I had no freaking idea, thank you for this tidbit of info! A vast majority of keto smoothie recipes contain whey protein powders, I'm glad I've been avoiding those.

You should be tracking your fiber in order to get your net carbs. Carbs are not what you need to worry about, it's the net carbs.
