I was on a VLCD for 15 weeks. target was 800 calories and I was as low as 600-700 calories during part of the program, because of pain and drug/nausea/constipation issues. Personally, I'd not recommend doing less than 1200 unless you have serious medical issues and are under close medical supervision. it was tough enough…

I did not mind, in fact, I liked being a big guy and like bigger guys. I was very comfortable around 240-250 pounds for a long time. I do kind of miss my butt.... I use it instead of meat in chili recipe, Made a black bean chili with it that turned out really good. in general, it has more taste if you cook it in some sort of broth.
