I would like to find a community group for people in their 60s. How do I search for that?

Nice problem to have! Congratulations!

Wait, I'm confused. Someone else posted your comments from your page and you went from 268 to 117 and now want to tone. So you've accomplished a lot. Anyway, assuming you are talking about being discouraged while toning???????

It is SO hard to not want all of it right now!!! I promised myself that I would log my food and exercise with the goal of learning portion sizes and eating a better diet and becoming active. It's only been 18 days and I've lost 2 pounds. However, the scale was going up before I started logging stuff, so at least I'm not…

I'm fairly new as well. I signed up awhile back but just started logging a couple of weeks ago. I have quit the diet thing and am just trying to change my habits. Something I am learning in life - which should help here - is that I'm not going to wait to get motivated. I'm just changing habits a little at a time so that…

I don't know if I'm referring to the right post, but great job!!! (the post with the 5'7" woman maintaining at 140.) I'm 5'6 with 60 lbs. to lose and goal weight is 135. You look fabulous!

Beautiful (and happy) bride! Congrats on all of your hard work!

I'm 54 and fun and fluffy and would like to join. I have about 60 pounds to lose and started 2 weeks ago. I'm just trying to change habits for my lifetime. This looks like a fun bunch! I've been married for 19 years, have a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old, hubby and I are both musicians and full-time music students. I…

You look great! I have a pair of jeans in my closet that I'm using to gauge weight loss. You can really tell the difference in your photos!!!

FAB-U-LOUS!!!!
-
Wow, people are right - you look SO much younger! Thanks for sharing your before & after photos!!!
-
I agree with you - that's a success story for sure! I am doing the same since logging on MFP. I told myself that this was not about being perfect - it was about me being realistic and finding what works for me. And I promised to give myself time to do this - no set time goals because that doesn't work for me. Anyway, glad…

Good for you! You look great!

Wow! That's amazing! I think you're going to inspire LOTS of people with your story.

What helps me is eating balanced meals with as little processed foods as possible, like making sure I have produce of some sort with dinner and protein with each meal. This works for me. I've been experimenting and I suggest you do it too. Don't diet-diet. Just get to know what works for you and give yourself time to make…

I can't offer you any maintenance tips but I can relate to having a stressful job and how it sucks all of your energy. Make sure the job is worth the wear and tear on your body. We always think we can manage it all, but if I had it to do over again I would probably have taken a different path. I was slim and trim and…

YOU are so cute! Keep up the good work!!!!

My jaw dropped when I saw your after picture!!! Congratulations!!!!!

Thanks so much for sharing! You look fabulous! I'm in my mid-50s and recently started performing again (singer) and some friends recorded some performances and when I saw myself, it took everything I had not to cry. That's why I decided to once and for all change my habits. No more diets or extreme exercise programs. Screw…

That's amazing that you had a baby and continued to take care of yourself! So many people indulge themselves and get off track during that time. And I love that you have the foods you want to have - I've done so many diets and such over the years and it's just not realistic for me. Now I'm just changing some habits and…

Congratulations! What an amazing difference! You look great!

You are DEFINITELY an inspiration! Congratulations on taking care of yourself!!!!

I am not an expert but have had my fair share of stuff when exercising. I agree with others that the muscle pains could be hydration issues. Were you very active before you started this routine? You might want to take it slower. I recently started stepping up my walking time and felt lethargic, so I made sure I had some…

Our neighborhood RiteAid just installed a blood pressure machine that also weighs you and tells you your BMI. And you can create a user name and it will save your information for you. You might want to check that out if you don't want to spend the money. I bought a Weight Watchers (weight only) scale at Walmart for about…

As long as your wife isn't turned off by it, then do what's right for you (assuming you don't want to turn your wife off). I'm not the athletic type but I guess I would expect someone who is competing to shave if it helps with time or comfort. So no, I don't think you're crazy.

Great inspiration and no-nonsense too! Just before beginning to log here at MFP a week ago, I had been doing a lot of thinking about diets and the industry and how many I've been on and all of the desperation for something to work. And then one day I thought, "I've dieted successfully before but gained the weight back…

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You look great and happy!!!
-
I would love to hear more about how you've done it! Congratulations!!!!

Haha, by reading your post I thought I was going to see something hideous! You look fabulous! And your "before" photo is beautiful. But I know what it's like to feel bad about yourself, no matter what anyone else says. Anyway, thanks for sharing because you are definitely an inspiration!

Geeminy Christmas! That's an amazing difference! I am NOT an expert in losing those last 10-15 pounds, but I have read so many others who say they hit a plateau until they mixed it up. I remember being at Weight Watchers and heard several people say that they ate more calories for a few days and then went back to what they…
