@ratsyroo -- excellent! I always have trouble not overeating when I'm stressed. Great job on losing despite that!
-
Great progress again -- you're doing fantastic so far! All of that eating out is going to be very challenging, but you have a lot of discipline, so I'm sure you can do it!
-
@samwelli - that's fantastic! I'm rooting for you to get below 190 next week!

Sorry I haven't posted all week. Thanks for everyone's good wishes! I've been slowly getting better but have had no energy the whole week, and haven't exercised at all since last Saturday. So I did do two days of the mini-challenge before getting sick on Sunday -- those jumping jacks were tough and my legs were really…

 That's awesome!
-
@ Jay -- great job! The 1 lb loss puts you ahead of schedule.

In that situation, not gaining any weight is already really good! Good job on getting back into the exercise right away, and on keeping up with the push-ups!
-
@ Kelly - what Dave said! I was missing workouts because stuff kept coming up at work, so a few months ago I started working out first thing in the morning, and now I almost never miss a workout. I'm like you on the exercise. ~400-450 of my daily calorie deficit of 500-550 cal is from exercise, since I don't feel well if I…

I'm 133.8 today -- I was 136.8 last Friday, so I'm down 3 lbs! I was only expecting to lose ~1 lb, so that was a pleasant surprise. I think part of that weight loss is from decreased water retention from following my eating/exercise plans closely since the challenge started, but its very encouraging nevertheless! Awesome…

@ Kelly - that's great! every little bit helps. This week I've also been trying to get extra exercise at every opportunity. Whenever I can walk back and forth instead of standing, I'll do that (did that a bunch of times while waiting outside a conference room!). Whenever I have to stand, I stand on 1 leg and do leg lifts…
-
@ Kelly - thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to check that out next time I go to those places.

All of those are good suggestions! I was going to suggest the plank as well, so I vote for that. That's a great core exercise! I can do 75 sec right now, and would love to improve on that. I'm with Dave -- I'm going to keep doing the 20 push-ups and will keep substituting 1 regular push-up for 1 bent knee push-up…
-
@ Mandy -- that's fantastic! Excellent progress on the push-ups!
-
@ Dave - that's dedication! Awesome work this week -- great job!
-
@ Maria -- great job all around! Keep up the good work!
-
That's great progress on the push-ups and the weight loss!
-
Today I did 7 regular + 13 bent knee push-ups -- got in 1 more regular push-up than yesterday! -- and my usual workout of ~15 min of other calisthenics and 45 min. on the Stairmaster. Increasing by 1 regular push-up each day is great! I think I'm going to keep doing that even after this week. I plan all of my meals…
-
@Keisha -- good job on the workout and the push-ups! I did 5 regular and 15 bent knee push-ups this morning, along with my usual workout (15 min of calisthenics and 45 min. on the Stairmaster).

Glad to see that everyone's been making progress! Day 4 went according to plan. I did 4 regular push-ups and 16 bent knee push-ups...tomorrow I'll continue to replace one additional bent knee push-up with a regular push-up. Its great that this mini-challenge gave me the incentive to push myself a bit and start doing…

I tried a decline push-up today -- not ready for that yet! I substituted a couple of regular push-ups for my usual bent knee push-ups and was pleasantly surprised that I could do those OK now. I did the rest of the 20 push-ups as bent knee push-ups, and did 2 more sets of 15 bent knee push-ups. So my goal this week is to…
-
I'm really motivated too! I'm definitely up for the mini-challenge -- I've already been doing 15 - 30 push-ups ~4 times a week, but I'll do at least 20 push-ups every day this week!
-
Hey guys, I did my weigh in first thing this morning! My official starting weight is 136.8 lbs, and my goal weight is 129.8 lbs (i.e., lose 7 lbs by the end of the challenge). Its great to be doing this challenge with all of you. I feel really motivated!

I'd like to join! My name is Mimi. I'm 46 and an engineering manager at a semiconductor company. I'm pretty good about exercising -- I do 45 min (~6.6 miles) on the Stairmaster every day, and if I have time I try to get in 2 full body weight training sessions each week as well as some calisthenics. But work gets in the way…

Happy Birthday! You've made amazing progress and there's a huge difference in the pictures! Losing 76 is a fantastic accomplishment, and you're an inspiration to all of us. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations! All your hard work has paid off! I'm hoping that I'll be at my goal weight in ~6 months. When I get there, I'm going to get a DEXA scan too.
