Things will get better! The first 3-4 weeks, as I was learning what I could and couldn't do, was a true test for me. And sometimes I got really depressed. I'm almost 4 months out and couldn't be happier with the decision. I wish I had done it sooner.

Yup, it's normal to feel that this is your last chance to eat as much and anything you want....however, IT IS NOT! I'm almost 3 months out and CAN eat anything I want BUT I can't eat much of it. That was the toughest part for me...quantity. I still feel like I want to eat the buffet out of business (head hunger) when we go…

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think I will try making orange water tonight! One thing I have some to crave lately is ice milk! I get the fat free milk and pour it in a cup of ice. Plus there's a little protein in it!

Welcome! I had the sleeve almost 3 months ago. I started around 265 and I'm 5'4". I've lost around 60 pounds total, including the pre-surgery diet. Before surgery I had many of the same issues you describe. I was taking medication for joint pain and walking was becoming an issue. I was taking cholesterol med. I have since…

Is this the liquid diet pre-surgery or post-surgery? Believe it or not, it does get better. Are you taking something to get your protein in? Like shakes? It took me the misery of messing up by eating things I shouldn't before I finally realized the misery wasn't worth it. Every doc is different (check with your doc) but I…

Hitting protein goals (as well as water intake goal) has been a bit difficult but I am getting better each day. What's been the hardest is dealing with my desire to eat and not physically being able to. I've went overboard a couple times (or at least ate what I shouldn't have). The results were pure misery. I felt like my…

Wow! No advice to give but congratulations! :flowerforyou: My hubby had a vasectomy several years ago and VSG in October '13. I'd love if his vasectomy reversed!

Congrats on your decision to go for it! I had mine 3/18. I did a 1 week pre-op liquid diet and for me...it was enough. I was to the point I hated the shakes and would rather do without (although I couldn't) than to choke down one more. I think if I had to do the 2 weeks like that, my will power might not have lasted.…

Thanks guys for all the advice...even the advice that was tough to hear. :-) I went to the doc today for my 1 week post-up and am now allowed to go to soft foods. He said next week I can gradually introduce soft meats like fish. I came home and tried to eat a 6 oz. yogurt...not sure how I feel about only being able to eat…

I had mine sleeve on the 18th...no longer need pain meds but really would like something besides the these liquids. How are you doing?

Mangopickle: Would it be ok to start some of that now?
