I changed my tactic... Must tell you this story! Instead of plotting my route, I'm doing the old familiar one round the park…

Hi Mary! Glad you made it safely! Your baby Luke sounds adorable!

I'm learning from Mimi/Mary to eat lots of fresh fruit and veg. I love this at lunchtime, with lots (3 tbs) of home made yoghurt and some chopped nuts on top! Quick to make and sooo filling! (eat all you want for relatively little calories!) By the way, I'm in Scotland! Hello neighbour!

Funny Mary, I was thinking today that I am not at all competitive but when it comes to beating my walking challenge??? Where does that push come from!??!?!? I've taken it more slowly today, somehow it's not the same AFTER work. Most of my energy's gone I suppose? I did walk a bit further than my usual working day though...…

Where does that push come from!??!?!? I've taken it more slowly today, somehow it's not the same AFTER work. Most of my energy's gone I suppose? I did walk a…

I had a great day today, out walking with my rambling club - we went across to the east coast, where the weather was just perfect for walking. We got some rough walking in (or walking on rough ground) as well as some walking through woods and along the beach. It's such a pretty part of the country, with a great variety of…

 Great! Thanks for the info and glad you got your walk in - won't be long now till the Moonwalk - are you getting anxious? I had a great walk today, it seems the weather was better on the east coast - I've logged 6 miles cross country but I actually switched my phone app off at 7.6... Too many cals burned to think…

Birdie - what a bit of excitement in your neighbourhood! You never know the minute! Sissy - Purple with a Purpose sounds fab! - I'm wearing So Laque Bleu Mysterieux - a gorgeous deep Midnight Blue - I don't believe we're ever too old to have fun! As a side effect, it also covers my bruised toenails when I've been walking…

3.4 miles for me today but faster. I went back to my original walk that I did when I started logging here: 3.4 miles round the park in 61 minutes burned 296 calories. Today, I did it in 53 minutes and burned 342 calories. I've decided that I want to try to get up to 4 miles an hour but not sure how long that will take.
-
Mimi - Congrats on your first walking log! 600 minutes! That IS exciting! Your lovely wee dog sounds like she will like the new challenge too? I hope so! I'm out for a long walk tomorrow so taking it easy today. The sun is shining and I intend to make the most of it - once round the park then sit and read my book with a…

Hey! Don't beat yourself up!! 4lbs is great!! I only aim for 1lb a week and if I lose more that's a bonus for me. I think we have to work hard enough to lose that pound, don't you? You did great, last month! Dee, my thoughts are with you! Hope you keep well at this sad time. We had a beautiful day here, so I…

I did 5 miles today - I'd say around half of it I upped my pace and knocked 10 mins off my time in both directions. By the time I got into town, it was too busy to walk quickly so I just wandered along looking in shop windows at clothes there's no point in buying as they are going to be too big for me in 2 months!!…

4.3 miles today for me - home work home and then home park home Mary, I'm with you all the way, Gal! Let's pound those pavements! For sure! Pick a route, (along a river bank, round your local park or even a scenic route around your town) then get your shoes on and start walking! I bet you'll be amazed at how much your mind…
-
I did 4.3 miles this morning then changed my ticker. I did another 3.5 miles this afternoon for work and have added it onto my June challenge - too late to change it then change it back again. This morning's walk round the park was faster, I think I like this idea but not sure how to log it.
-
I think I'm going to try building up my speed this month! Thanks to Flausa for inspiring me!! This probably means that I won't do so many miles but I hope to feel the benefit. I'm down for a target of 100 miles but may not make that, here's hoping...! Good luck for June everyone!
-
Another 4.3 miles today bringing my May total to 144.3 miles! On to June! Happy Walking everyone!

Hi! I'm 58, in Scotland. I've been using MFP for a month and a half now and have lost and worked out consistenly since I joined. I have been using 2 threads up til now. The Walking Challenge, which starts at the beginning of each month, so if you like walking, you can get in at the start of this one coming up. I also use…

I've not changed my ticker yet as I intend to do some more walking tomorrow, for my May challenge, though I COMPLETED it already!! I've chucked sooooo much weight away, on my walks round my local park and beyond! Fantastic and thanks…

Superrrrrrb walking this month! I've beaten my goal too! 7.3 takes me over my target by 0.02 miles - cutting it a bit fine - but will do more tomorrow!!!! I seriously worried that I wouldn't get it done! What a great feeling! Didn't we do well?? Congratulations to all who finished! Good luck to those still going! :drinker:…
