The best advice I got for doubleunders was when my coach told me its more about the wrist than the feet/jump. After that - it just clicked. You really dont have to jump any higher to get the rope to pass twice underneath you - you just have to spin the rope faster (if that makes sense). Other than that, keep your elbows in…

Thats an intense one for your first WOD! Great job!! :drinker:
-
When you wake up and make the conscious decision to skip the early Saturday morning WOD to sleep in... you end up doing burpee penalties in your dream.
-
This. Exactly this. Just don't let the haters and nay-sayers deter you... if its something you're interested in - check it out. Then decide for yourself if its something you want to pursue.

Yep - The girl who won (the one in pink) did remember the code. I think that part was from one of the coaches military/marine/SWAT style training backgrounds... Good point about it being tough mudder-esque! Didnt think of it that way!
-
Nope - never seen any of them.... I just have no interest in them. Never saw any of the Rocky movies either for that matter...
-
No - hence why I said "experienced and knowledgeable". Anyone signing up for crossfit (or for a trainer in general) should always do a little research the background of said coach or trainer anyways.
-
Don't forget to add the experienced and knowledgeable coach.

I've been doing crossfit for just about 6 months now and LOVE it!

^^^ THIS. I buy whatever size makes my butt look good.

Hahaha - YES! Good thing I have amazing MFP'ers around to talk me off the ledge
-
LMAO - this is awesome. Happens to me ALL the time...

I'm also paleo (most of the time!) - feel free to add me as well :flowerforyou:

This used to happen to me a lot - not so much recently, but I'm interested in what people have to say about it.
-
Feel free to add me as well. I'm by no means "perfect paleo" either though!

Check out this recipe for a pie crust: http://foodsforlonglife.blogspot.com/2009/05/raw-vegan-dessert-helperuse-as-crumble.html It uses dates and raisins to sweeten it up a bit. Hope this helps! And let me know how it comes out if you make it - I found this recipe a while back but haven't tried it out yet.

Hi All, My name is Stef and I've been generally following Paleo guidelines for a couple months now. I've only really been trying to get more serious/strict about it since August though. My first attempt at the Whole30 was in August, but I only made it 15 days or so (I also hadnt read the book at that point so I was sort of…

Thanks for all the input! Right now my goal is set at 45% fat (100g) - I typically have been in the 100-150g range, but I have had a few days where I had up to 170g (which is what started to make me a little nervous to begin with). Its all been from healthy sources (coconut oil, nuts, avocados, meat, etc.) so I know it…

Today is Day 18 for me - I have noticed that I have increased energy in the morning and I don't really get the "afternoon slump" like I used to. I've also noticed that I have been having fewer breakouts on my face which is awesome! One thing I am having trouble with is my snacking though... I recognize when I'm actually…

You could always just make your own - Its surprisingly easy. I typically buy a 3lb bag of raw almonds from BJs for about $11 and make my own almond flour and almond butter.

Yes, stevia is an herb. BUT - the stuff you buy in the store is so processed and chemical laden it is the furthest thing from natural. If it were natural, it would be green.... like an herb. I actually grew stevia in my garden this year and dried the leaves. I ground them down into a fine powder and use that as a true…

another vote for the Coconut Aminos

I just tried this for the first time this past Monday and I am HOOKED! Been having it every morning since! I just use 1/2 tbsn clarified butter, 1/2 tbsn coconut oil and a splash of coconut milk and its perfect for my tastes! This morning I also put 1/2 tbsn cocoa powder in it but it didnt change the flavor all that much…

I'm 5'4" 145-ish Mostly paleo (currently about half way through the Whole30) I eat around 1800 cals a day (usually more on crossfit days) Crossfit 3-4 times a week My main goal is to increase strength and lower my bf %, but I'm also only 5 lbs or so from my ultimate goal weight, so I would love to lose a little too.

I just tried the Bulletproof coffee and I dont know why I didnt try it sooner! I absolutely love it and it starts my day off with about 18g healthy fats (I use 1/2 tbsn coconut oil, 1/2 tbsn clarified butter and a splash of coconut milk). I will definitely be trying it with some cocoa powder now too!

I'm running the one on Saturday (9/22)! It'll be my 2nd Warrior Dash this year!

Day 5 for me and sticking with it! Even went out to dinner last night for my birthday and was able to make some good whole 30 choices (prime rib, roasted veggies and grilled asparagus)! Although I did question the oils and marinades used for the veggies - the menu description said nothing about marinades but there was…

I started my 30 days this past Sunday (9/8) so I am halfway through my Day 3. So far so good! I tried this challenge back in August but only made it 2 weeks or so before I caved, so I'm really looking forward to sticking to it this time around! Its also nice to have my husband on board with me - I've noticed its been…

I'm definitely in - But I will be starting 1 week into September (on the 9th) when I get back from vacation! Oh and almond milk is acceptable, but only as long as it doesnt have carageenan added. I believe Almond Breeze has carageenan but Silk Pure Almond does not.

I LOVE the way he broke that down! Thanks for sharing!
