Send all of the high calorie food with them when they leave!

I've had the best success just eating things I like and finding lower cal ways to make them. I eat anything as long as it fits in my calorie goal. I've also set my rate of loss at .5 pounds per week so that I have more daily calories to eat. I find it's more sustainable this way, and much more like a lifestyle change…

So glad you've been successful! You're an inspiration to us all!

I like to do a bunch of chicken breasts. I'll use Fiesta seasoning jalapeno salt on them, then brown them on each side in a skillet with a little spray oil. once they're browned, I put them in a baking dish and cover them with green enchilada sauce. Bake on 325 for an hour and a half. It makes the chicken so tender it…

Welcome fellow Texan! There's a lot of great info here, and some really great people that give their time to help educate. Covid was rough for a lot of us, but good for you for getting it together!

I never tried spark people, but MyFitnessPal has helped me lose many times. Unfortunately, I keep gaining it back. This time I've decided to eat more and lose slowly so I can make it a lifestyle change for good. I have an open diary and eat whatever I want as long as it fits in my calorie goal. Feel free to friend me.

My diary is open. I don't need to lose quite as much, but you're welcome to take a look at what I'm eating. I don't eat clean, and I only eat things I like and fit them into my calorie goal. I missed a week logging in late April while on vacation. I've been consistent in logging, but had some some bad days in may.
-
Good luck! I'm back for the 3rd or 4th time. I've just been coasting the last month or so. Went on vacation in late April and it's so hard to get back on track after. I'm getting my mojo back finally. You've got plenty of time before next April, you got this!
-
That is a tough time you've had! I've been here lots of times, but this time I'm going slower and logging even the bad days when I eat too much. I plan on logging from here on out so I don't regain again. Good luck to you!

I quit smoking about 8months ago and I've had a terrible time losing weight since. My advice to you is be kind to yourself while quitting. One of my biggest problems I believe, is that since I don't smoke I hardly ever go outside anymore. This led to a vitamin D deficiency. My Dr put me on 2000 IU per day and now I'm…

I know what you mean. I've lost a few pounds, but I just can't stop eating. I log accurately and weigh all of my food. I'm even working out several times a week. Snacking at night is killing it for me. Good luck getting that middle person back.

Congrats on you prior success and keeping it off! You have a huge advantage in that you already know you can do this and succeed. When I've spent time away and gained weight, one of the things that has helped me is going through my food lists. That helps me remember the things I was eating and enjoying when I was losing.…

Buy the little single serving cups so there's only enough for her.

The Kroger brand ice cream "artisan vanilla bean" tastes just like dairy Queen soft serve. Use that and bang up some Oreos or whatever mix in you like. Tastes just like a blizzard for fewer calories!

I've had cycles like that, but usually I only feel bad for about 5 days. One of the best things I've ever done is ask my Dr for something to help me with my migraines I have during that time. I take generic Imitrex, and it's been a game changer for me. Sometimes, I just have those chips or whatever it is I want, but only…

I used a patch and that helped way more than I thought it would. When I came off the patch, it was bad. I didn't have bad nicotine cravings, but it really messed with my brain. Something about the chemicals in cigs and your endorphins. I wanted to sleep all the time for about 2 weeks.

I just quit smoking in September. The sugar cravings were unbelievable. And I craved sweets I don't even usually like. I put on 5 pounds afterwards. I've gotten that off and now working on the other 15 I need to lose.

I always felt that way about working out. If I didn't feel like I could have a session that was as productive as the last, I wouldn't even do it. Also, if couldn't work out for a full hour I wouldn't do it. A friend helped me realize that you won't always have the best workout ever, but that doesn't negate the advantages…

I just quit smoking in September. I don't think I could have done both at the same time. I used the patch to quit, and itcwas much easier than I thought, and I'd smoked for 30 years. When I came off the patch, my energy level really took a nosedive for about 2 weeks. The sugar cravings were like nothing I'd experienced…

My husband and I are also child free by choice and a little older than your wife. I absolutely cannot imagine what you must be feeling. I'm so glad you have someone to talk to, and I know that will help with your grief.

Boneless skinless breasts seasoned with fiesta seasonings jalapeno salt. Brown them in a skillet with a little spray oil, then transfer them to a covered baking dish. Pour a can of green enchilada sauce over them and cover. Bake on 325 for 1.5 hours. Not only will they be so tender they'll fall apart, you end up with a…

I quit smoking a month ago. I'm using the patch, so cig cravings arent so bad. They tell you about craving sweets when you quit, but I didn't expect it so be this bad! I've started exercising again, but it seems like every time I get on the scale, the number is even higher. I haven't tracked my food in a while, so getting…

When I start losing motivation I always think of how it will feel seeing the next pound come off. That always feels so good to me that I don't want to make it happen slower than it needs to be.

I started at 150, trying to get down to 135. Im at 143 right now, but the scale moves up and down on me too. I think you just have to expect that considering you might be holding on to water weight at certain times depending on sodium levels TOM, etc. I'm don't get discouraged by it, I just keep doing what I do and I'll…

Try Veggie Straws. You can get a huge bag at Sam's. They taste like potato chips and serving size is "about 38 pieces" for 130 calories and 7g of fat. Of course, you have to measure to be sure the serving size is correct. I used to eat these like crazy, but ate so many I got tired of them. DO NOT eat several servings…
