Hi Danika, I am Donna. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada so we are neighbours. I had VSG in 2014 and did good for the first few weeks. In 2018 I decided to have revision surgery to RNY but I had very serious health complications. The Doctors had to open me up twice as I had a huge bleed in small intestine and then a few…

Thank you Barbie for creating this page. I am about to embark on a journey. On Feb. 28 I am having revision surgery from The Sleeve to RNY so my goal this month is to stay on track with my pre-op diet. I am excited but a little concerned about the pain and higher risk of complications. I'd love to hear from anyone who has…

Canadian bacon and eggs. I'm fasting for surgery now but am allowed a few servings of protein per day. Yeah.

Hi everyone. I'm 52 and from Canada. Looking forward to meeting some new friends.

Hi Thaeda. I haven't been on here in ages. I too have gained weight back, about 22 lbs. I went on a cruise in January and gained 10 lbs. Then I gained another 10 since I got back home. I feel disgusted with myself. I was looking back at pictures before I gained the weight back and I looked & felt so much better. Well it's…

So awesome to read of your successes. The surgery is truly a gift.

I'm 18 months out, down about 110 and stalling. Considering joining WW. I just joined a gym yesterday and signed up for an assessment and 6 personal trainer classes. I'll give it a few weeks and see if the exercise gets the scale moving south. If I'm still struggling I might go back to WW. I've been a member several times…

What is the pouch reset? Did you have VSG or RNY? Thanks :)

Congratulations on your success. I agree that the surgery is a gift and we really have to work our program for success. I also agree with everything garber6th said.

Congratulations Rob on working so hard on your goals throughout this journey. You are doing great and have been a huge support to me and everyone in this group. I appreciate your encouragement and dedication. You are doing awesome. :)

Welcome Hockey and Angel. This is an amazingly supportive sight and so informative. I had my surgery Nov. 12, 2014. I lost 47 lbs. before sure and 50 since. I had my first stall at 3 weeks out and I've currently been at a stall for over a month. It's time for me to get moving and up my exercise. :)

Thanks for sharing your story. You have been through a lot and continue to fight the good fight. Welcome to the site. :)

I hear you on that one hockey7fan. :)

Thanks SibylDiane for the tip on possibly dropping protein bars from my diet. I hope it doesn't come to that but it just might. Thanks to all who are sharing on this thread. :)

I think I am figuring out that it's the sweetest Quest Protein Bars that trigger me to want to reach for another. I do not plan to buy the "Cookies & Cream" or "Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough" anymore. I may also need to eliminate "Double Chocolate Chunk", I'm not sure about that one yet but it seems to fit the category of…

Thanks to all who posted. Weeziebeth thanks for the compliment on my new picture. :)

Thanks so much everyone for your feedback and suggestions. Last night I had an "Atkins Advantage" Bar and it didn't trigger me to want to reach for another. I will look for some of the other ones that are suggested and tonight a friend told me about one he uses & I know it's available here in Canada. I would like to stick…

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I will pick up some Pure Protein bars and try alternating them with Quest Bars. As far as shakes go I do have a tub of Muscle Mlk that I haven't tried yet. It's high in calories, so I might just mix half a scoop with some Almond Milk. Again, I could alternate that with Premier…

You look amazing. Your hard work is paying off. Way to go. :)

Sending prayers your way for financial blessings. Starting pre-op behavior like tracking on MFP, introducing exercise and weaning off of carbonated beverages would all help you to prepare for surgery when it happens. I am a firm believer in prayer. There is also a lot of great support and encouragement on this site. :)

You are truly an inspiration. I am blessed to have met you on the site early in my journey. You are doing amazing. Thanks for all of your encouragement and for being such an encourager. :)

Congratulations. Amazing progress. Way to go.

Thanks so much everyone for your encouraging words. I really appreciate it. I am blessed to have a lot of friends. Friends and faith are the focus on Easter for me. It is a challenging one that is for sure, but it is when we are going through difficult times that we grow the most. Thanks to all who shared. :)

Hey Surgery Sister, I also had surgery on Nov. 12, 2014. That is neat. I still struggle with fruits and vegetables. Of course we are always to eat our protein too. Your weight loss is great. I am down 43 but lost 47 before surgery. I had to tread very carefully with certain foods and still don't eat a lot of carbs (bread,…

Thanks so much Thaeda, Asia and to all who have shared on this thread. I found it very helpful to read the posts and think about how I can apply them when I am feeling a lot of stress and anxiety. :)

Renovagirl, thanks so much for posting the very informative article. Thanks also to everyone who shared and offered things they tried and what helped them. It makes sense that protein that normally kept our hair healthy is being depleted because that protein is needed for our vital organs. That is what the article said and…
