Be careful of things that estimate your calorie burn. They are never 100% accurate, and so you can think you should be losing when really you should not. This is a common issue, particularly as many exercise equipment options have a calorie counter that overestimates. Does this mean you should stop using them? No, it…

Honestly, I would speak to a doctor to get an accurate estimate due to your one kidney. However, I know my nutritionist says with me, I could easily drink 15+ a day and it would be fine, so long as its evened throughout the day and Im not chugging it, then waiting to chug again. If its spaced out and you seem to have…

Personally, I used my ex in the same way once. "I'll show him how sexy I can be!" was my mantra. I lost some weight, but in the end, he didn't notice, or care, and I wound up eating it all back. The only way I've ever had continuous weight loss is by finding healthy motivations. Whether its for me (I want to look good for…

Speaking as somebody who has done them before due to pressure from the mother - they are a waste of your money to often do the exact same thing a laxative will. If you want to do a cleanse, drink more water. You can still eat, you don't need to take anything, just drink water. Water naturally flushes your system, also, the…

Whenever people I exercise with ask me questions in regards to how well they are doing, I point out what they are doing now versus when they started. You will improve over time and rushing it will only hurt your muscles. I can compare this to training myself, as I, too, am trying to get into 'running' shape - or by using…

Weight doesn't matter to me in many regards. I want to lose weight and be healthier but to be honest, I would date a man heavier than me, or lighter, or the same. Would I worry about his health? Yes. But does the fat change the fact that the guy makes me laugh, etc? Nope!

Define geek. Do I qualify if I fangirl about Dr Who, HP, and so many other things? Haha, I'm an artsy type of geek, but always up for new friends!

Adding you - I've got a long way to go myself!

You seem dedicated, so I think you will succeed! It will take time, of course, and patience, but best of luck! Portion control is a huge thing - people do not realize how much food goes into many recipes and meals. I use my food scale all the time, particularly if I make a meal I am not familiar with.

Just be firm and strong. You don't NEED to justify anything to them - I personally quit 'drinking' (getting drunk, as one or two is nbd once in a while) and my friends were very curious. It got to the point where they would pressure me about it. The biggest thing that worked for me, I found, was sitting down with a few of…

Habit is a huge problem. You develop habits as a child - if you see somebody else eating something, or often, you do it too. By the time you care for yourself, the habit is firmly entrenched and hard to escape from. So it seems genetic - your mom is chubby and you are too, but it's just a bad habit. There are external…

I feel you on the compulsive eating, so feel free to talk to me!

This is a personal preference thing, I find. One of my friends is a personal trainer, and you cannot get her to the gym on three days of the month. Personally, I find a long walk (jogging at times if I feel up to it) helps a lot. And I try to stay in my calories - even if my womb is putting out crazy chocolate craving…
