This. For men, this won't occur until around under 4-5% body fat and under 7-8% for women.

A lot of people don't make a gradual change in their eating habits. They go from eating, for example, 2500 calories a day to 1200 calories a day. They hit their goal and go back to old ways of eating because they didn't teach themselves long term, new habits. I think this is probably one of the more prevalent reasons that…

Surprisingly indeed. OP, gain the muscle and little bit of fat at the same time. Then cut and lose most of the fat and a little of the muscle. Repeat and you'll improve your look more and more over time.
-
OP, I think the progress you'd most like seeing in your physique could be gained through body recomposition. You might think you want to lose weight but it just might be this. It's worth looking into at least.

Gluten is just the current dietary 'bad guy'. There's nothing inherently wrong with it; there's just a few people that have to avoid it for medical reasons. This will pass and then we'll see gluten and eggs giving each other high fives and flipping off the gullible.

^This.

That is the best sentence I've read today on MFP. People would be so much better off if they took this to heart. These forums would be much more boring, however.

What everyone above me said except the OP.

Why wouldn't you eat them?

^^This. Why do so many jump to the easy out, "it's not in my control" choice? You are not a special snowflake, OP. If you take the advice from the people that have reached their goals and look amazing (several in this thread), you would reach your goals. If you don't want it badly enough, that's fine but if that's the…

Typeos man, typos. I do that sort of thing all the time. Quite maddening when I'm trying to come off as knowledgeable and stuff.

Are you saying there aren't people who believe it hook line and sinker? Pro tip: Your view and understanding of the world is not shared by everyone else on the planet as evidenced by your threads today.

The important data you're leaving out is how much time was spent burning those 400 calories respectively. He's saying that equal time spent doing cardio vs weight lifting (30 minutes in the OPs example) will yield more calories burned via weight lifting.

Articles are not proof. The first one sited a couple of studies but they didn't address your statement. People lost more fat with cardio AND weight training. It never said that 30 minutes of cardio burned less than 30 minutes of weight lifting. The second didn't site any studies and also didn't support your claim. Please…

Cracked has some good ones. Another good one was the experience of one of the writers being a model for a weight loss program. http://www.cracked.com/article_21211_5-shocking-realities-behind-ads-weight-loss-products.html I was skeptical of them before but this personal account of how it was done (at least for this one…

I freeze my bananas all the time once they've gone beyond what I like to eat. You can freeze them whole in skin or you can freeze your mash. If you make bread, you can even pre measure it for what you'd need in the recipe and freeze that portion. I'm all about keeping it easy.

Fascinating thread. Will have to read more later.

My most usual breakfast items Eggs Chicken Greek Yogurt Toast Coffee Tea Also, it's not foods that are healthy or unhealthy, its diets (the foods you eat as a whole). Pancakes can be part of a healthy diet as long as they fit in with your calorie goals, macro goals and micro nutrient needs. Good luck!

I'm addicted to food. In fact, I'm so addicted that I'm positive my withdrawal symptoms would be so severe as to cause my death if I tried to quit cold turkey.

The closer you get to goal, the less body fat you have to lose. People recommend slower when closer because they're encouraging people to maintain muscle mass. If you lose fast at the end, you're going to lose a disproportionate amount of lean tissue. You get a lot of threads by people who say they've hit their goal and…

I reached my goals but just because I did, it doesn't mean I'll come make a thread saying, "Nany, nany boo boo. I'm better than all of you!" because I'm capable of empathy, something this particular 18 yo hasn't developed yet.

You're in high school and have zero life responsibilities and associated stressors. Grow up and stop trivializing what is difficult for a lot of people.
