  • My boyfriend's sister does this *kitten* all the freaking time. It's ridiculous. And she hates that I post about losing weight without using any of that because it hurts her business. Oh well
  • Same! I try to eat healthy frequently, but definitely having Chinese food tonight. This was after years of thinking I had to starve myself to see results. I'm much, much happier now
  • I really like this! @Nathan_PK I sometimes use Spotify, but I can't afford the subscription to it so I usually find music on there and download it to my phone. I'm also going to be teaching a group fitness class this spring, so I need to put together a setlist for that as well. Although, I may get away from the metal for…
  • Hi everybody! I'm a work-in-progress, and probably will be for the rest of my life, lol. Stats: Height: 5'1.75 HW: 220 (probably more) CW: 157.8 GW: 125-135 range to re-evaluate when I deem necessary. Anyway, here are some pictures! First up, the picture that made me want to lose weight. I was with my boyfriend at his…
  • I agree with what some of the above posters said, if you're happy with yourself then don't worry about it! Focus on fitness and general health instead of losing weight. If you don't already, you could try lifting weights or find a new exercise that challenges you more than your current routine (I definitely suggest…
  • I don't "run" in the traditional sense either, usually averaging around 5mph. But I also have Corgi legs, so I blame them. And I just call myself a slunner (slow runner) and remain proud of the progress I've made. Just recently, I was able to push myself to run for 35 minutes with no breaks. That's the longest I've ever…
  • Not quite, but pretty close! Here I am at 220+ (not too sure, I probably lost some before my first "official" weigh in) And me today at 159.6 (yes, shameless gym selfie) Here's a comparison between my pants then and now. The bottom pair are a 16 plus from Old Navy (so probably closer to a 20) and the top ones are an 8 from…
  • I can definitely relate and I needed to see this today. It's good to know that others have similar experiences.
  • At my highest weight of 220lbs And a progress picture from a few months ago at 165. I'm currently 159 and still in progress. I've been "off" for the last few weeks and hoping to inspire myself to get started again! HERE'S TO GETTING BACK ON TRACK AND LOSING THAT LAST 30 OR SO POUNDS!
  • I went to a wedding with my boyfriend and afterwards, I was tagged in this picture. I was at my highest weight of 220lbs on a 5'1 frame. This is me at 165, although I'm currently around 159.
  • I can't believe I've been friends with you for so long and I've just noticed this post! You're incredible, and as a non-runner myself, you're a huge inspiration!
  • http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1041398/i-have-lost-a-bald-eagle-what-have-you-lost I've been spending too much time on MFP. But I have lost an elephant's penis!
  • Btw, it's normal to lose a lot in the beginning and then even off to 1-2 lbs per week. When you first start, you're losing a lot of water weight, so don't let that get you down. 1-2 lbs per week is fairly normal depending on your weight. Since you said you're 250, 2 lbs per week would be a healthy goal until you get closer…
  • Hello! My name is Amanda and I am also 5'1-ish. I started at 220 lbs and I'm currently around 157 lbs. Here is one of my favorite threads for new people: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1 I have a bad habit of over complicating things but this…
  • I like this a lot. I have a tendency to only post positive things too and so people tend to think I'm a lot happier than I truly am. But I would also say to go out and do some of those things with a friend! Get a good girlfriend and take her on a "date" or go hiking or something. Sometimes what you need is some fun with…
  • I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been dealing with the loss of my mother for over a year and now I'm losing my boyfriend to a terminal illness and I've been looking for some support on here. But to answer your question, I did gain some weight back after losing my mom and I think the only thing that helped me get back…
  • I find this funny because I'm currently applying to be a Spinning instructor at my gym and I'm definitely not lean. That being said, I've been to every spinning class for a number of months now and I know my way around a spinning bike and how to set up a good playlist for students to exercise to. Just because you're…
  • Stretching always helps me. Stretch after your workout to prevent soreness (at least some of it) and also before bed if you want. I find it relaxing, which is why I do it but it's not necessary.
  • Me? A peasant? Adorable.
  • I'll never not be happy when this thread makes a comeback!
  • I've only said two things to famous people 1. "Do you want to meet my teddy bear?" (I was really young) and 2. "Can I get your ticket, please?" They were a member of REO Speedwagon and Dave Chapelle, respectively. Other than that, I have met the Dutch Ambassador to the United States but most people wouldn't care about him,…
  • Also, Raise Your Glass by P!nk is a good one (since you mentioned liking pop too)
  • Five Finger Death Punch has been one of my favorite bands to run to. Honestly, any angry music is good for me, lol Meet the Monster and Can't Heal You are my two favorite songs from them
  • I want to do a spartan run so badly but those things are hella expensive!
  • Since your workouts revolve around the apocalypse, have you tried the Zombies, Run! app?
  • Well, for somebody who has just started and might not know the acronym HRM and who might not know the benefits of weighing food rather than using cup measurements, it could be confusing. You seem to be knowledgeable which tells me that you've probably been on here for a little while but others don't have the exact same…
  • To translate this into something that might be more intuitive: Weighing your food with an electric food scale will give you a better idea of what you're actually eating. Cups are fine for liquids but if you're saying you're eating a cup of crackers, it's possible you're eating more than one serving. the food scale will get…
  • I think you need a Snickers. You're not you when you're hungry
  • I have nothing to add but a Breaking Bad/Pokemon gif for your viewing pleasure
  • I speak some Arabic, does that count?
