"Happy Returns" by Steven Wilson. I listened to it for the first time and it gave me pause because I am one of the people the song is describing. And his voice alone makes me feel like crying. Hey brother, happy returns, it's been a while now I bet you thought that I was dead But I'm still here, nothing has changed Hey…

So, I know a lot of people are saying this is weird but I've been known to go to neighboring apartment complexes to do the same because they're 3+ stories and mine is only 2

Panic Attack by Dream Theater and Beast and the Harlot by Ax7. My best mile ever was done while blind with rage and listening to Beast and the Harlot.

My goal seems to be constantly changing. I pretty much gave up on landing at one number and being happy with it. Instead, I'm focusing on losing until I'm in a healthy weight range and then focusing on body recomp (also doing some now, but focusing harder on it then) I think it benefits me to have a range rather than a…

Three things. 1. 2. 3.

Only 24 for the next 4 months, so if you want some of this, you need to hurry! Btw, my picture is me IRL. I am truly an angler fish/mermaid mutt.

I've read through a fair share of this thread and I really like what you guys have to say. I have one question for myself though I've decided to cut back on my weight loss goal (from 1lb per week to 0.5lb per week) when I start grad school next month and add in more resistance training in place of all the cardio I'm doing…

I'm the opposite when it comes to bloating. When I was at a higher weight, my tummy didn't expand nearly the same amount as it does not or at least it wasn't noticeable. I've found that, as I get into smaller pants sizes, even just a few lbs and some bloating during that time of the month can put me up an entire freakin'…

On your last point: I have had some experiences where other runners have offered a high five as we're passing each other. That is pretty cool.

There was one time I was running and some guy that I know from my university pulled over and yelled "Do you need a ride?" I stopped and yelled back "You're *kitten* stupid" and kept on running. I think he was serious though. Like he saw me outside, running in active wear, and legit thought I needed a ride. But he always…

Same! I'll just sit here and wait for my heart disease and obesity.

Yep! Hell, even just 3lbs of water weight will make my pants tight now. It's completely possible.

this. It's likely that, if you start counting calories again, you'll start to "lose" that weight pretty quickly. At least some of it. Weight can fluctuate ~5lbs each day, so don't get discouraged. Just keep tracking calories and staying active and you'll be back on the right track!

I've struggled with depression for most of my life and I've found that exercise does help quite a bit. Although, it definitely wasn't a cure for my depression. I still get very down, even when everything seems to be going right. The process, for me, is definitely cyclical. I get depressed, lose motivation, stop exercising,…

this. I have like 25-30lbs left to lose and I can lose weight on 1400-1500 EASILY. No, you don't need to cut out gluten or fat or carbs. Maybe cut sodium if you have some sort of medical need to do so. Otherwise, just be patient and get a food scale to measure everything you eat for a more accurate estimate.
-
This is a good idea. Another thing you can do is save some calories for the night time when you're going to be up so you don't eat over your goal. As for the goal of 1200, I agree with the first poster that it's not sustainable for everybody. I'm personally 5'2 and 150 lbs, wanting to lose another 30-ish and I lose a pound…

I really love Fitness Blender. They have some free stuff and some workout programs that you can buy if you want. But they have videos for just about everything! You can customize to your fitness level, what kind of workout you want (cardio, HIIT, strength, etc) and you can customize to what parts of the body you want to…

I'm so sorry you and your children have to go through this, my father was abusive to myself and my mom so I know that it's rough. I hope you can all get through it. That being said, I'm glad you're taking a step to do something for yourself. My advice: do small things that will help you in the long run. Add in a walk once…

I'm also in for a donation! I went from 38DD to 34A and that's even getting too big!

I definitely agree with this! As with any long process in life, there are times that you'll get down but damnit, some of the highs are really high! When you hit a fitness goal or when you fit into something you've been eyeing, the feeling is amazing! I think something that helps me keep the positivity up during the lower…

I got in about 12,000 steps today thanks to this game alone! I saw a bunch of people on campus doing the same, so this is pretty exciting!

I'm having similar thoughts right now. I still have 30lbs to lose and I'm an 8/10 right now (with some size 6). Shirts are even worse (pear shape, yay!) I'm a small in some brands and I could even wear an extra small in one brand very comfortably! I'm scared that I'll drop the extra 30lbs and not have anything I can…

I'm going to be quite a bit heavier when I go into near maintenance mode. I'm currently 156 lbs and when I get to 149 (about 9lbs away from a "normal" weight range) I plan to go close to maintenance and work on lifting primarily whereas my primary exercise now is cadio-based. As of right now, my "goal" is just to land in a…

I let my liver handle it. Seems effective. Very cheap.

Also, I absolutely adore this post! That's an awesome way to think about it.

You'll be there before you know it! I'm approaching the 65 lbs lost mark so I know it's frustrating when you're in the thick of it. But just keep telling yourself that you're making a positive change and keep going! Also, don't be afraid of little slip ups. Weight loss is anything but linear, so you might backslide a…

Eating in bed is super dangerous. Especially if you're a fan of Nature Valley bars. Those things crumble worse than my life is atm.

I like my university's gym because it kind of has both. But if I had to choose, I wouldn't want to pay to go to a gym that only fit one of my needs (ie, something that just held cycling classes), so I think I would go for the traditional gym in that instance. I DO like group classes but that can't be the only thing that…
