In order of do-ability: 1. Buy clothes in a normal plus size department of a regular store, like JCPenney, Target, etc. VERY close! 2. Go horseback riding with my daughter. A ranch we go camping at has trail rides but I have been 100 lbs over the weight limit. 70-some lbs to go and I am there. 3. Ride the swings at the…

You do not have 200 lbs to lose. You have 187 lbs to lose. Claim your weight loss- you did it and give yourself credit for it! It is tough, no doubt. Look at smaller goals. I started with 160 lbs to lose. My goal weights are a stair step of what happened at those weights. Right now, I want to be under 298, the weight I got…

I really like Walk-it out for the wii. (Or others).. You walk to the beat of the music through an empty city/countryside.You have to earn coins to build the town and earn more songs, etc.

I need friends, too, feel free to add me

Back to the OP's question... I'm not at a true plateau but after gaining this week (after eating right on my mfp recommended calories plus tons of exercise) it has refocused me. After many weeks of this, maybe it would get discouraging. The truth of the matter, though, is that over the long run you simply cannot continue…

I am eating 2300 calories per day plus usually my exercise calories, too, for a total of around 3000 calories. I am losing 1.5-2 lbs per week, just as mfp says I should. I know I could cut back more drastically but I have tried that before and it has been hard to stick with. I am in this for the long haul.

If I really want a donut, I'm going to have a donut. And now that you mention it, I am allowing myself one treat after super- focusing this week. And I am thinking not much could be better than a House of Donuts Bismarck (who do not skimp on the filling!)

I can speak for myself only on this one... I don't think having artificially sweetened items made me fat but I do know that when I eat a product with artificial sweeteners, I feel particularly hungry throughout the day. That's not terribly scientific but I have cut out all artificial sweeteners. The jury might be out,…

Even if it is possible to lose weight, shooting for 2lbs a week is awfully high at 128lbs. If you are exercising regularly and cutting down a huge amount on calories, too, your body may have a harder time losing weight. Have you tried plugging your figures into the myfitnesspal calculators to see what it tells you to be…

I don't have a ton of myfitnesspal experience under my belt but... if its working, why change? Maybe weight yourself again once a week for the next couple of weeks and see if the trend continue and make a decision from there.

You can do this. I started at needing to lose around 165 lbs and am down around 22lbs right now. Get up and move, even if its for 5 minutes. And tomorrow do just a bit more. Don't set a workout standard that is too difficult for you. Right now, I try to walk 4 or 5 days a week with a friend, 5 to 6 miles a day. The most…

I'm 37 years old and had a TIA a little over 2 months ago. Basically, its the symptoms of a stroke but they come and go within a few minutes. It shows that you are on the verge of having a major stroke if you don't get it under control. With my lifetime chances of a stroke very, very high now (not to mention the other…

So excited or you! Hoping to head that way myself very soon.

Not be disgusting, but water isn't the only thing that gets retained with Advil usage. Stool softeners are often prescribed to folks using lots of ibuprofen/Advil.

Are you having a problem with cramping? If not, you are probably fine. Potassium is regularly covered in lab work so you probably would have heard something, if you ever have labs done. If you are having problems with cramping, try to drink a lot more water, as well as adding potassium rich foods. I have debilitating leg…

I've been my own biggest obstacle. Because I didn't have any health problems, I have always been like "I'm big but I'm active and I don't have any problems." Basically, I was an ostrich sticking my head in the ground. You don't get to be 300+ lbs forever and not develop health problems. So I had an extremely unexpected…

I am trying to eat "real" food instead of heavily processed alternatives. To me, that means things sweetened with sugar instead of artificial sweeteners, moving towards (but having a hard time with, mentally) full fat dairy, butter instead of canola margarine, etc. I have had a health bumble and have to do this right.

If the recipe is from online, you can enter the URL and it looks up every item and assigns the proper calories. Did a recipe yesterday in about 10 seconds!

Anything with artificial sweeteners. I have discovered that when I eat anything with artificial sweeteners, they make me very hungry.

The easy biggies to watch are: just about anything canned, particularly soups; ANY processed meats, including meat balls, lunch eat, etc; any frozen meals. I am supposed to be lowering my sodium intake and those are the worst items. But, to jump on what everyone else is saying, unless you have a medical need to watch…

I will add a pic soon... I am probably sitting around 326 right now and hope to get to 175. I have always been heavy but it is time for this to change. If you want a friend for the long haul, I'm it. About a month ago I had a "warning stroke" which is basically a small, temporary stroke and a big old shot of reality that I…

Until two weeks ago, I would have said that I just like food and that I'm not an emotional eater. But two weeks ago, I had a "warning stroke" which is basically a small taste of what is headed my way if I don't get my tush in gear. And suddenly, eating holds little appeal for me. Maybe because I am finding eating a more…

I'm an eater! Add me! I am very heavy right now (329 lbs) and I've tried losing weight before but always went too low on calories and couldn't do it. This time, I'm in it for the longhaul. If I lose a bit slower, so be it. At least a year from now I can sustain this program and change my family's lives. Currently eating…

I figure I can hide it from the daily log but I can't hide it from the scale, where it really counts. For me, it helps when I find I've been really hungry that week to look back and see why- which typically something to do with using tons of calories on chocolate and cookies!

Or gotta eat more volume in healthy food...and less junk stuff. Good luck!

Thank you for letting me in! My stats: 36 years old SW 325 lbs GW 175 lbs I am planning on eating about 1850 calories plus my exercise calories. I have tried losing weight before and end up quitting because I cut back too many calories and get stinking hungry. This time, I'm in it for the longhaul and that means, for me at…

If its not too late, I'd like to join, too. I just joined and need to add a picture but I'm trying to get my family healthy right now. I am very heavy and starting with the mfp goal of 1863 calories + eating some (most?) of my exercise calories. I have a daughter with some health challenges and her being overweight is…
