Hello, I would love to have more friends! I have lost 55 lbs so far and have about 110 to go.
-
I could use friends- please!

I'm only 38 but I could really use friends! Yourself or anyone else needing support. I'm down about 47 lbs with around 110 to go.

I started backpacking with my kids saying "hey, I'm fat but I'm healthy." Then I had a TIA- a warning stroke that says your body is in bad shape and you need to get it together before you have a big one. I lost a bunch, got sidetracked by major life complications and got started back at it 3 weeks ago. I'm down about 47…

Hi all. My name is Jeanette and I am 37 years old. I have been a stay at home mom to my 3 children. I started with needing to lose 160 lbs at the end of August. I dropped 35 lbs when 5 weeks ago... surpise! Found out my husband is having an affair and I got a smidge sidetracked. I might have gained a few pounds back…

What a good feeling that has to be! You should be very proud of yourself!

It looks like you are both counting too many calories for your workouts and eating too many calories... which means you should be happy to be maintaining, let alone losing. As everyone else said, buy a scale. Use it. Look up calorie counts on everything from eating out. Keep track of every single thing you eat all day long…

Using the Runner's World formula, I come up with about 387 calories for 7 km walked and 446 for 8km walked. So a bit higher than the Vivofit but much lower than MFP.

I can easily gain 5lbs in water weight. It comes right off, though, when I decrease my sodium and increase my water intake.

The need to lose weight to backpack was the start of trying to get fit. I live in Washington state and the direction of nearly all of our trails are up, more up, and insanely high up. I have a long ways to go but I have now taken my kids on 4 backpacking trips. I am planning to hike the PCT, too, in 12 years. It's a long…

My 13 year old son, who lives in his own little world, told me yesterday that he admires my dedication to getting healthy. I wasn't even sure he was aware I was trying. Felt good. And I love that boy, so very much.

I am impressed that you have made such good choices for yourself. A couple of people have asked me how I'm losing weight and I'm like, duh. Eat less, move more. Its that simple. What an amazing transformation! Thanks for sharing with us. I needed it.

I am eating whatever I want. I will probably walk around 7-10 miles in the morning, though, and will cut back on calories the rest of the week. We have a truly huge Thanksgiving dinner with all the good stuff, plus some. That said, I tried to eat a big fast food dinner the other night and couldn't get halfway through it…

Maybe I shouldn't answer because I'm far from goal and having only been at this a few months. I think that you don't truly dedicate yourself until the payoff is better than staying the way you were. This program works. Do it. Eat enough but not too much. Make sustainable changes and you will succeed. I am in a similar boat…

Not my best week. My house was a disaster area because I have been walking to much the last 2 months or so. I backed off and only did about 15.2 miles of walking this week.

I used to do it, don't now. It was very accurate at the time.

Funny, I have had several days when I thought I was going to let myself cheat but it hasn't worked or that way. As long as the downward trend is happening, do what works.

$64 for my family of 5 to the YMCA. We qualify for their financial aid program otherwise it would be $129/month which just wouldn't be possible. We love our local branch and are extremely grateful that there are programs to make this affordable for our family.

My body is so stinking weird! I try to weigh myself once a week but very consistently I gain 4-5 lbs of water weight between weigh-ins. I will give it a day or so (after I can tell I've dropped the water weigh) and I will have lost the water weight plus a few pounds. The first 2 times it happened, I was really upset. Now I…

So stupid... but I CANNOT have fudge ice cream bars in the house. I don't know if I have a limit to how many I could eat in a sitting. Now, I will buy a single one in a convenience store and eat it, sure. I just can't have a box of 24 in the freezer!

When I get to maintenance, it looks like I'll be at about 2300 calories per day. Add a couple hours of hard exercise on to that and I would easily be at 3000 calories per day.

Put the mfp ap on your phone and scan the bar code whenever possible. Saves TONS of time sorting through entries!

I volunteer a lot with my daughter's choir. The teacher just bought the main moms and dads sweatshirts. Oh, the perils of trying to buy clothing for an overweight woman! I have been wearing a 4x for a long time and he bought me a 2x sweatshirt. I was horrified but decided to try to on anyways. Oh my goodness, oh my joy! It…

I do take potassium, 2 tablets of 3% per day, each. You need to be very careful with it as too much potassium can a killer, honestly. I have always had horrible leg cramps. I get them in my calves, outside and inside of my thighs at the same time. Not a lot of fun, I can tell you. I take a blood pressure med that lowers…

We aren't doctors, call your doctor! My sodium was sky high before I started losing weight. It had always been high but suddenly it started effecting me. I can't tell you if your swelling was from sodium but I was getting very, very swollen from it. Like pitting edema up my legs, ankles hugely swollen and feet don't want…

I'm only 30 lbs down with 130 to go, so maybe I'm not the best person to answer this. Until I've lost between 60-80 lbs, I don't think most people will be able to pinpoint why I am looking different. Now that number is higher for me because I weigh so much but its probably the same concept for everyone. My upper back was…

Your calories per day seems really high. Do you have an extremely active job? Are you on your feet morning to night lifting and carrying most of the time? I weigh 306 right now and am set at lightly active. My goal is 1.5 lbs per week and my daily calories are at 2290. I am on my feet most of the day, just doing basic…

I started at 335 and am now 306. I walk a lot and I mean a lot! Get good shoes and watch for shin splints. Take a day off if you need to to let them heal up. I started off walking a mile or 2 each day very slowly but keep getting faster and faster. Ellipticals and treadmills are great, too, but I am taking advantage of…

And try to verify whether or not it is for cooked food or raw. For example, 4 oz of cooked chicken breast is a different thing than 4 oz of chicken breast, uncooked.
