Can you stomach avocados? Peanut butter, or just peanuts? Butter and cheese? Also, if your anxiety is bad enough that it is literally causing you to not eat enough food, then you seriously need to see a professional to help you work through these issues.

BMI is not 'accurate' if you have a lot of muscle.

Rice, avocados, peanut butter, cheese, bread ...

Actually, I think eating that many calories is not unusual for people who are trying to recover from an eating disorder (don't know if the OP had an eatng disorder). I've heard that recovering anorexics are put on a super high cal diet (I think upping calories gradually is a good idea though). Also, if OP was so thin due…

If you're 360 lbs, then no, definitely do not start at 1200 calories. I'm a 5'1 girl who's highest weight was 130 lbs, and I didn't start at 1200 calories when I tried to lose weight.

The human body does not requiring a 'cleanse' to get rid of vague 'toxins'.
-
Nope. I eat foods with enough nutritional value to meet my macros, and then spend the rest of my calories on 'junk' food. I eat an ice cream cone every day--sometimes two. Also chocolates, cakes, kids' prepackaged PB&J sandwiches ... The only time I feel kind of bad about eating something is when I go over calories.

Hey, congratulations on the baby! Stop feeling guilty about anything -- your body, your choices, your emotions, etc. You have nothing to feel guilty for. You gained weight with a baby; lots of people do. It's not a moral failing. If your friends are making fun of you for being 'fat', then they're being pretty jerky about…

Yeah, pretty much.

I'm around 5'0, and eat 1200 or so calories a day -- more on the days I exercise. According to the Mifflin-St Jeor TDEE calculator, I maintain at around 1450 calories a day, so 1200 calories is a reasonable deficit for me. I personally manage by intermittent fasting.

You don't have to have traditionally breakfast foods at breakfast. Have whatever food you like that has protein, I guess.
-
Maybe you're overestimating the number of calories burned during exercise. MFP's values are usually too high, in my experience. Even more accurate devices, like HRMs, aren't perfectly accurate. Maybe try not eating back exercise calories for a while, or only eating back half, and see if you start losing. If you do, then…

It's genetics. Even when I was super skinny, it looked like I had a constant double chin. Not much you can do.

If she told you that she would support you, she should follow through. However, you really shouldn't rely on someone else to help support you with your diet. I live with my family, and they continue to do the things they've always done -- eat out all the time, hold barbecues, buy tons of junk, etc. And that's their right.…

'Skinny people' can have body image issues, just like overweight people.

Ugh, it's horrific. I have a cousin at UCSB; his mom was worried out of her mind. So, so sad for the victims, and their families. No sympathy at all for the killer. Just reading articles about him turns my stomach.
-
A lot of it is genetic, unfortunately. Some people can do everything right -- slow weight loss, lots of water, exercise -- and still get loose skin. Other people aren't prone to much loose skin at all. It's nothing to be ashamed of though.

Why go to this theme park if he knows he can't fit in the rides? I don't think there really is a 'good' or tactful way to bring up something like this. If a person isn't ready to lose weight, then it's really easy for them to feel like they're being attacked, especially if they're insecure about their weight (which most…

Cook the vegetables until they're really well done (lessens their taste) and then incorporate them into dishes you'll like. Stews, for example, are good, since the vegetables don't really taste like anything except for stew. I can't eat most vegetables raw (including lettuce--no salads for me), but they're fine when cooked.

My original goal was 110. Now I'm 113, and my new goal is 100-105 (I'm very short).

"Skinny people are unhealthy!" "I'm just naturally large. My body just wants to settle at 300 pounds. It's a healthy weight for me."
-
I see nothing wrong with it. It's not like they're advocating that everyone be fat, or that being fat is the healthiest state -- just that fat people also deserve to have pride in themselves, which they do. Basically this.
-
I agree -- MFP should give you a calorie range rather than a set number.

1) Even if the metabolism slows while eating at a severe caloric deficit (say, for hypothetical purposes, 16%, as another poster wrote), weight loss would obviously not stop. The RATE of weight-loss might slow, but you would still be losing weight. 2) Some people may appear to be maintaining on a severe caloric deficit…

Anytime someone tells you to go on a diet to get rid of 'toxins', or to 'detoxify' your body, laugh in their faces. Stop doing random diets. Choose an appropriate calorie deficit, and stick to it.

Google 'fatshion'--you can find lots of good ideas. Just because you're fat doesn't mean you can't look great or be fashionable. I'm not fat, and I still follow lots of fat fashion bloggers, because they dress amazingly well, and look awesome.

Never heard something like that before. As long as you're meeting your calorie/macro goals, why not eat as much fruits/vegetables/anything as you want?

Height: 5'1 Weight: 114 Waist: ~28 Hips: ~35

Maybe it's placebo effect? You think you see changes when there aren't yet. Keep going and the scale will move.
