Fresh corn has all kind of vitamins and minerals. I look at it like potatoes-fine in moderation. Here's a link to an article about corn myths. http://www.eatingwell.com/blogs/health_blog/is_corn_healthy_or_not_5_myths_about_sweet_corn_busted

I'm slow, but I'm training for a marathon. Love to add you!

It's really hard to make myself get going, but working out usually really eases cramps and helps my mood. It's hard, but you really will feel so much better after! That and dark chocolate :)

Oh, and what people above said-cooking your own instead of canned seems to be a bit less gassy (and cheaper!).

I eat obscene amounts of beans. I've found that if you eat them pretty regularly (or a lot of fiber in general) your system gets used to them and has less effects. I don't know, maybe just me. I live alone too, so maybe I just don't notice ;)

I am on the road a lot and eat in my car, so almost everything I do is cold or room temp. I love salads. One of my favorites is whole wheat pasta with salsa verde, avocado, celery, tomatoes, pinto beans, and cucumber. It's filling and fresh, and a little spicy. I make four to six servings on sunday and portion. I also make…

I weighed over 260 when I was 25, so I know how you feel. I know the idea of exercise is hard now, but I promise you even tiny steps will make huge differences! I started just taking a walk in the mornings around my neighborhood. A couple months later I joined a gym and just walked on the treadmill or used the stationary…

Cngratulations! Running was what kept me going when I first lost 50 pounds and what has remotivated me to get to my final goal. It's amazing! My current goal is to run my first marathon before I'm 30-just over 13 months away. I can't wait!

In high school, my friend's dad was a doctor and he told us the same thing about eating more around PMS. Glad to hear it from someone else!

54 pounds here. You can do it! I lost 50 pounds a few years ago, put 20 back on, and am now working back toward my original goal of 80 pounds. You'd think I'd be discouraged having gained, but honestly, having done it before makes me so sure I CAN do it. It's amazing to me how quickly your body begins to crave healthy food…

I log breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the day the night before when I make my lunch to take to work. I like doing it that way because then at night, when I'm craving a "real" meal or a glass of wine, I know exactly how many extra calories I have left. The exception to that is if I know I'll be going out that night. Then I…

Wow! Thank you for this! It's wonderful to see pictures of someone also my height with the same goal in mind. I was at 260 when I started a few years ago, lost 50 pounds, and then gained back 30. I am working at it again (using MFP this time!) and trying to hit 180. You are an inspiration!

I HATE it. Mostly because I hate hazelnuts.

I love rice cakes with almond butter. Carb, protein, and fat. Pretty satisfying. Light string cheese is good too-portable and filling for about 50 calories. I do wraps a lot too-whole wheat tortillas spread with hummus or guac with spinach, peppers, turkey, beans, olives, or lettuce, ect. Pretty much anything easy to roll…

No one cares as much as you do. I never notice other runners unless it's to admire how much faster they are (ok, unless they're the shirtless, muscular guys.....) I find that headphones help me get in the zone and cut out other people too. IT's kind of an "if I don't notice them, they won't notice me" illusion :)

Potassium and Protein!

That's awesome! I started running two years ago at nearly 260 pounds and having never run before. Within a year and a half I had lost 45 pounds and finished 7 5ks. Running changed everything about how I saw myself. I'd never seen myself as an athlete before and it made me feel strong and confident. After an injury that…

I eat! And I post recipes!

Have you measured inches? Muscle weighs more than fat so you may actually be losing fat but putting on muscle. When I start weight training hard I always gain 3-4 pounds before loosing any even if I lose inches.

I had the mushroom risotto for dinner (but it had more like 8 ingredients) :)

Another upside of slow steady weight loss-way less loose skin! If you drop it too fast you end up with skin only plastic surgery can remove. While it won't get rid of all of it, slow weight loss lets your skin slowly shrink.

Having been 260 at one point and lost 50 pounds (very slowly), I'd say listen to your body. I am super active and if I go too low (less than 1700 calories) I am extremely sluggish. As someone above said, it has to be sustainable. You can't eat 1200 calories a day for the rest of your life-you'll lose willpower and pack…

Well, hello cute bearded guy :)
