I imagine you already had a colposcopy (biopsy). The Leep procedure is done to remove the bad cells, usually not cancerous. abnormal cervical cells can go through a progression of changes..gradualluy turning into cancer if left alone. If treated (with Leep), usually healthy cells grown back. It is very important to get…

I think it's time to educate them..not about losing weight, but just a healthy lifestyle in general, which includes nutrition and exercise. I do think AMercicans thought processes are very skewed when it comes to this issue. Be proud, keep up the good work!!!

I am a terrible migraine sufferer...I take medication everyday to prevent them. Just about anything will do it for me. Skipping a meal, any type of artificial sweetner, allergy season. Make a log of what you ate and when also activity and how you were feeling before the migraine..take it to your doc. I also get intense…

In the summer we get our veggies from a CSA (community supported agriculture). We pay upfront for the whole summer and each week we get eight different veggies. The pick-up point is right near our house. We are supporting a local farm and we stay out of the grocery store...keeps us away from the junk food in turn saving…

If you have low blood pressure, I would not necessarily eat more sodium. You probably have low blood pressure as a combination of factors...genetics and fitness. If you are healthy, the sodium may cause a bit of water retention, but your kidneys will quickly process and balance you back out. Not everyone who has high blood…

I cook most meals at home..and then pack up the leftovers immediately to take for my lunch. Saves money and keeps my sodium to about 1400 mg. Anytime I take 'quick foods' it goes much higher, but I rarely go over 3000mg. If you have the luxury of being able to take your lunch that may help.

Thanks so much for your input. The extra calories to burn off will also be the little push when I want to skip out on my work-out. Thanks again, this site has been very informative and supportive!!

This may seem like a stupid question, but I have trouble eating all my calories after I exercise. I get 1393 for my BMR, then usually an additional 300 or more from exercise. I usually eat about 300cal meals (3) and 100-150 cal snacks (2). If I exercise I usually have some left over..sometimes up to 400. I exercise in the…

I argee with that rainy day feeling. Luckily it will be a busy day at work for me. I will not have time too junk..(boredom plays in there as well for me). Maybe look for something to fill your time and distract you. Each time you feel the urge to go for some food, try a yoga pose (if you are into that) or something…

Leblacb is right on. Different labs do different tests, so depending on the test..it may have a different reference range (normal range). I would call your doctors office and ask that they send you a copy of you results. The lab normal values are usually listed next to your result. My sister has a Mirena and loves it. My…

Funny you posted this. I was at a huge sale this morning trying on item after item really working up a sweat. Lugging armloads of clothes around for an hour. I askedg my husband upon my return (quite seriously)...Isn't it worth some "exercise" calories? Anyone have suggestions?

You can go to nutritiondata.org and type the recipe ingredients into the pantry and then calculate the total for the recipe. It is a challenge at first..if you are not used to the site, but easy after that. I print the info and tape it next to the recipe in my book for future reference. I try to stay away from processed…

You can also get the F6 with a strap that doesn't cross signals with other moniters. The strap doesn't bother me and they do come in different sizes. You can also set it to alarm when you get out of your 'zone' of weight loss. Many cool features. I bet the F11 is even nicer. I just wasn't sure I would use it when I bought…

I have a Polar F6. It's around $100. It is awesome. It tracks your calories and heart rate. You can upload your progress to your computer. It is waterproof as well, so you can swim and do water aerobics if that is your thing. It was money well spent for me. I also wear it on dog walks, mowing the lawn....other things that…

I love the idea of posting pictures!! It of course can feel a bit intimidating, but both a reward and encouragement for the future. My previous max weight was 180 and getting those pics out REALLY helps encourage me to get back with the program.
