I can identify too. I do that as well. I need to dig deep and figure out why I let that happen after such a good day. Hang in there, tomorrow is another day.

If you are interested, here are the supplements I use when I'm cycling a lot (or exercising a lot in general). Glutamine - Hardly any calories at all, I buy it in a tasteless powder form. you just add it to 8 oz of liquid and drink it. Accelerade - protein/carb blend beverage in a variety of flavors (orange is my…

I've cooked them using the oven technique and the crock pot. I have to say I love the crock pot method because it is less labour intensive and they are always cooked perfectly (near falling off the bone).

I'm not sure what kind of HRM you have but I have to set a reminder for myself to remember to routinely update my metrics on my HRM. The metrics include, my resting HR, my weight and my fitness level (which is tested by my HRM). My understanding is that when you become more fit, your body also becomes more efficient at…

How many miles and for how long in time are you riding? Every day? It could be a matter of not properly refueling your body before, during and after exercise. Are you taking any muscle recovery supplements? Glutamine and a electrolyte type beverages is what I use. Are you stretching well before and after? I know that is…

Haha, thanks Dom!

If I were at the same gym as you, I'd come with you and tell him off. Or we could surround him!!! Haha!

Well, you can either stand up for yourself and just say something to him to let him know how rude he is being. Or two, you can just completely ignore him. You are there for YOU and not for him. So if decides to interrupt or delay his own workout then fine, no harm to you. Keep your head up and pump yourself up about the…

Think about how loooooonnnnng you'd have to exercise if you at that! Don't do it!!! Drink some lowfat chocolate milk or hot chocolate if you are really craving the chocolate, but don't eat one of those. If you really must, just have half then. If your willpower isn't strong enough, don't go there though.

Try monitoring your measurements as well as weighing yourself. I often find that if the scale hasn't moved, the measurements definitely have. Stay motivated, it doesn't happen over night. Try creating exercise playlists for yourself, walk with others. Make new friends that will walk with you. Walk a pet or with a child. :)…

Welcome and you are in the right place :)

I have experience with both :) Hands down, if I could afford it right now, I would do the body bugg. If you research the device, it reads your biometrics something like 5 different ways. It is much more accurate than a heart rate monitor too. I still use my heart rate monitor though, I love it for many reasons. My trainer…

I respect your moral views and can see how important it is to you to remain vegetarian if possible. Maybe schedule an appointment with a food nutritionist or dietician? I'm not sure how the person at your gym is qualified but a professional with a bit more knowledge might be what you need.

welcome!

I think it would be a fun personal challenge :)

Ditto that! I'm curious about what exactly those people are eating when they say they struggle to eat 1200 calories. My first thought is quality of food. I personally have no problem getting my calories in especially after a big work out.

Search for the topic "How do you learn to breath?" the Fitness and Exercise category.

Try working on your pace? Sounds silly but I learned how to breathe best doing yoga. Now I just do it with out thinking when I'm running.
-
Do you take the time to stretch before and after? If I am diligent about that, it keeps things free and moving. I know it's hard to make the time but the pay off is worth it.

I'm in Brisbane :)

Keep in mind that the weight/height guidelines are just that, guidelines. They are standard and not based on ones personal data. Perhaps a visit to your doctor for an assessment of what is a healthy weight for your body type? Bone structure etc play a huge role. I'm 5'4" and have always had very muscular legs as well as…

I wear my heart rate monitor and then made a manual entry where I can enter the time and the calories burned :)

Hello and welcome! I'm American but living in Brisbane for 6 months, feel free to friend me if you like. This is a great community!

Can you find tuna in spring water instead of brine? Also, compare brands, some are lower in sodium than others. As for dressing, you should just plan to spend some time reading the labels at the grocery store. If you are brave, you could even try finding receipes to make your own dressing. Snacking at work: yogurt, fruit,…

I have learned that I can't give up some of my homemade favorites. So I plan accordingly and will adjust my calories per meal earlier in the day to allow an indulgence. I cook pretty healthy already though so it isn't that often that I need to prepare for a massive calorie expenditure. I don't believe in dieting but rather…

Nope, I log everything. Simply because several "little" things can add up to not meeting goals :) My two cents.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, the mint ones. I am soooooo glad i'm not in the states right now where they would be available. Whew!

I do what everyone else has said so far. I make some extra time on sundays to prepare preportioned snacks and meals I might need quickly. Sometimes lunches for my husband and I or sometimes dinner depending on the schedule. Most of the challenge is just realizing you need a little planning. I learned to cook when i was…

What a bunch of disrespectful ******. I can't believe it, sorry you had to deal with it.
