I see! I misunderstood your original post, I think. You know, it might seem kind of strange, but sometimes I find that if I use a specific kind of cup ou glass, I'll drink more water. I have a sipper-straw cup that I use when I'm busy bc. it won't spill. And something about that straw makes it easier somehow. Other times,…

Hi, and welcome! What do you see as "too much water," and what about weekends makes desired water consumption different than weekdays?

This sounds quite nice! How have you liked it?

And if you need to go back into the bin and flood the whole lot of foods with water to make it inedible, do that. Sometimes cravings will have folks get up and root through for the bags of treats and eat them anyway. After all, candies and other carby snacks tend to be individually wrapped and your coffee grounds and egg…

Starting weight (10/19): 272.3 10% reduction: -27 lbs in 9 weeks (avg. 3 lbs/week) Goal by 12/25: 245 10/19: 272.3 lbs 10/26: 268.6 lbs 11/02: 262.9 lbs 11/12: 259.6 lbs 11/16: 260.3 lbs Slight uptick. It happens. Of course, I don't want it to KEEP happening...but who really knows why the body does as it does? Keeping…

One of the reasons using actual grams, rather than ratios, seems to work best when setting macros. I used the Ketogains calculator to help me figure out my macro grams based on my goals. There are many out there. But it seems like a common suggestion is to identify your keto goals. What are your max carb grams per day?…

What makes adding more fat the most important focus area, @SueMizzou52? What do you believe contributed to your regain? I've only been at this for a month, but it certainly does seem like there's a LOT of discussion of keto out there that may or may not be supported by the science. Yes, fat is key for those of us seeking…

I dove right into 20g net carbs from Day 1. I didn't really have any cravings for carby food, to my great surprise. But I kept the same general level of appetite, and have eaten 3 meals a day each day, and I'm not talking a palm-size serving of meat and a side veggie. I've eaten full, delicious, wholesome full-fat food to…

Baby poo looks like mustard too... LOL!

Woot indeed!!

Oh--and allow 6-12 hours for effect. Don't use the night before important business meetings!

Smooth Move (senna) tea: drank some last night after feeling some ongoing constipation... This morning? Freedom. Just take one cup, very occasionally, for those times when movement needs a gentle little "push."

Walked under the Supermoon tonight, though city too bright to really see it. But man, can you ever FEEL it!!

I'm one who absolutely HATED the aftertaste from stevia. I'd only had powdered stevia, and stevia-sweetened protein powder. After learning about liquid (non-glycerine) stevia from LCHF boards, I've come to actually enjoy small amounts of stevia. The brand I'm trying is "Sweet Drops" (original "clear" flavor). Works in…

I believe it's Typonese for "great."

The least expensive cuts of beef tend to be the tougher varieties that need more of a stewing/braising/cooking with liquids approach to break down the fibers to a pleasant texture. Beef is totally doable on a budget, but you won't get many fatty steaks with limited funds. Top round/London Broil is my "steak" most of the…

I'm so pleased with my progress and persistence! Fluctuations on the scale can be discouraging if they're our…

This is a great question and I'm really appreciating the responses. I'm really new at this, day 25 to be exact. I'm currently tracking all of my food, both for macros and for calories--one of my goals is fatloss. I aim for (and seem to be staying within) max 20g net carbs. But I'm eating primarily whole foods so I don't…

I'll check out Nutiva's red palm--I ise their coconut regularly!

I changed my diary to time slots years ago, long before keto. I think more in terms of "feedings" than meals, and I also wanted to be able to track when I was hungry or time between feedings. Was I eating the most of my food between 8 and midnight? Did eating my first food of the day before 8 or after make a difference? Set…

How do you use red palm oil? I find it has a strong, distinctive flavor!

I bet folks in the Ketogains community (Facebook & Reddit) have tons of experience to share on this. I'm 3 weeks in w/keto so focusing on nutrition for now--but am definitely wondering how keto will impact resistance training.

Fortunately, it's after Halloween...unlikely to be any Human Centipede action on the boards!

I started listening to self hypnosis & guided meditation clips on YouTube. With headphones since some of them use binaural beats. They helped a great deal to quiet the mind, along with getting to bed in a timely fashion, sleeping in a cool and totally dark room, and sometimes Calm Forte or a half tab (~2.5mg) melatonin.…

What do you mean by "inflammation trope?"
-
I saw that you have your food diary open, @Bubba1922--I do as well, because I like the community it builds. It looks like your current MFP setup is for general eating, not necessarily a keto profile. I wonder if having your carb limit staring at you could help you remember your larger objectives? I also see that you have a…

Given how much better I feel now that inflammation has lifted for me, I'm decidedly committed to making the BEST keto choices I can make, every single day. I've been at 20g net carbs--NO grains, sugar, "sweet treats," "keto-friendly substitutes"--for 2 weeks. The inflammation was gone after 4-5 days. It's crazy, to think…

I use some xylitol for dental health; I tend to take between 8-12 grams in my morning coffee(s) and some 1g mints across the day. Don't experience any gastro side effects, but maybe it's different for people baking with the stuff.
