LOVE LOVE LOVE my juicer. I have a carrot juice most mornings with various fruit and veg combinations. Some of my favorites are - Carrot, celery, beet, lemon juice - Carrot and orange - Carrot, apple and ginger - Cucumber and mint (tastes like a mojito) - Carrot and spinach or kale Vary the ratio to your preferences.…

DIET is a dirty word. lol. Better off focusing on healthy lifestyle changes.

Think it varies for everyone. Some people say that HRM cals are higher then MFP but i find its the other way for me. I generally burn less (according to HRM) then MFP even when I'm training really hard. This isn't true for all exercises in the data base however. Depends on so many factors, intensity of the workout, your…

Only thing i'll use these days (unless I'm baking for other people) is honey and i'll reduce the amount thats in the original recipe. The fake stuff and refined sugars, do more harm then anything.

Everyday: probiotic If i remember or feel i need it: iron or multi vitamin, vit B, fish oil, cod liver oil (vit D), glutamine. Have been reading about BCAA a bit lately and think i might give that a go. Does anyone recommend it?

theres so many. All unprocessed fruit, veg, red meat, chicken, fish, legumes and gluten free grain and flour (rice, quinoa, etc). Theres also plenty of gluten/lactose free alternatives (such as pasta, biscuits, etc) in supermarkets or health food shops. Restaurants are now catching on to and many have special menus or can…

woolworth has a 'macro organic peanut butter' crunchy or smooth and i'm pretty sure the only ingredient is peanuts. You'll find this brand in their health food section.

I drink it. Love the stuff but haven't drunk it consistency to see the long term results although i feel better soon after drinking it. I make it myself because its so expensive in the health food shops (and hard to find in Australia). I made my mushroom scoby from scratch so its not very impressive yet and takes a few…

If you haven't been tested already then be careful about going gluten free. Most of the tests won't give an accurate result if you go off gluten first. And its much harder to start eating gluten again (in order to get tested) if you find you feel better not eating it.

Me to. Although i enjoy it so i don't mind so much. Does get annoying though when we go out 4 dinner and i spend ages going over the menu (if i haven't already checked it online). I'm gluten free, dairy free, and low grains/refined sugars. Heaps of restaurants are now gluten aware but often those meals contain dairy also.…

Hi there. I'm another gluten free member (also dairy free and low sugar and grains). Have had various health problem since i was a little tacker but wasn't till a few years ago that i made the connection between gluten and the constant tiredness, brain fog, cramps, bloating, nutritional deficiencies (despite eating quite…

In regards to the last sentence, that sorta depends on how you look at it. If you ate just that hunk of butter as opposed to balanced healthy meals, you may be getting the same number of calories but your pretty much only consuming fat. Good luck surviving on that alone. I for one know that i would feel so ill and sluggish…

My diet is gluten free, dairy free (due to allergies) and i try to keep it low in starch and preservatives. Cutting back on these foods have helped my digestive problems enormously. I'd recommend getting some tests done to find out if you are allergic to wheat or gluten because its much harder to test once you go gluten…

i'm not the original person who posted the reply about the cost of bananas but im guessing they are from Australia. Bananas were around $15 per kg for a while after bad floods wiped out majority of the fruit early this year,

depends what it is. I dont think i'm ever under my sugar goal but when i look at my diary its mainly due to fruit and veg as my diet is very low in processed food.

I'm in the same boat as you. Wheat and dairy free. Been dairy free or reduced dairy for many years with my slip ups ;-). Depends what part of the dairy you are allergic/intolerant to. If lactose (the sugar) is your problem there is plenty of lactose free milks, butters and yogurt available in most supermarkets. Some cheese…

What are your countries guidelines??? in Australia we have a big campaign promoting 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables. This is all based on tonnes of research by nutritionists, etc. I eat heaps of fruit but i'm trying to cut down to 2 serves due to the high sugar content.

this probably isnt much help.. but a trainer at my gym told me NOT to lift your feet of the pedals. I was lifting my heels off and apparently this is cheating. Starting doing it with my feet flat on the pedals and its definitely harder.

Im in Australia to & have been looking 4 miracle noodles. I've looked in a few health food shops and supermarkets but no luck. I'm gonna try Asain grocery stores because they may have them altho i read somewhere that they are called a few different things. Let me know if you have any luck finding them.

I'm always way over on my sugar and carbs also (sugar especially) but if these amounts are coming mostly from fruits and vegetables (as mine are) then i dont think u should worry to much. Maybe if your diet is heaps high in fruit then cut it back to 2-3 serves a day.

yay more aussies :-). I haven't found it too difficult compared to other calorie counting sites because other members have added things and theres the option for us to add our own foods. Even if the brands aren't exact as to what your eating as least some foods will be a pretty good estimate. But i agree it would be nice…

i've used my nike plus with my ipod while running on the treadmill just to see if the results were similar and they weren't far off (maybe out by 10%). I never rely on MFP exercise calories because there generally much higher then my nike plus & the treadmill which account for my weight, age, etc. MFP is just a really…
