  • Ditto! 5 years out and my meals are still 1/3 the size of normal meals and 1/4 the size of most over proportioned restaurant meals.
  • I am also one of "those people." The extreme calorie restriction is monitored by my doctor, but the calories have to be made up of the right kinds of food and at least 120 g of protein per day. There are lots of people with extreme hair loss because of the super low calorie intake. I now eat 1200-1500 calories per day.…
  • I love bulgar!!! Uncooked, but soaked. Add chickpeas, chopped tomatos, cilantro, garlic and lime juice. Season with salt and pepper! AMAZING....
  • Great job!! Those milestones are so motivating! I don't remember getting back down into 200s because I denied that I ever got up to 327! I have been slowly and steadily heading to the 100s because I haven't been there in 22 years! I have 45 more lbs to go! Keep up the good work! I'll friend request you!
  • Even with weight loss surgery, you still have to eat less and move more. When you stop, you gain...trust me! WLS is not something that I would have done if I had gained control before 327 lbs. Every day, I am careful and thoughtful about my eating and I move as much as possible. You can do this without WLS and won't have…
  • Pcos with IR here. I take 2000 mg of Metformin XR and 200 mg Spironolactone daily. I have seen a dramatic change in unwanted hair growth, acne, weight loss and overall energy levels. Birth control didn't work for me, so Spiro it is! My Endo is amazing and my best suggestion is to get a really good endocrinologist.
  • I'm not sure I could do 100 days, but my last experience being "scaleless" was a successful 20 lb loss. I was in China for a month. I would contribute most of my success to no preoccupation with the scale and a small amount to my inability to use chopsticks in a country without forks. Seriously though, it has been…
  • My shoes are too big!?!? I have lost 80 lbs and now have smaller feet. I thought they were thinish before, but I guess not. I am also at the "no woman's land" of fashion where I am too small for plus and incorrectly shaped for regular sizing.
  • This is 80 lbs down! I still have about 90 to go. It has taken me 5ish years, but I got off track for a year or so and gained. I'm not a picture of perfection, but I am a picture of determination!! Feel free to add me, but don't expect my diary to be anywhere near perfect!
  • Before: 327 lbs After: 248 lbs Still almost 100lbs to go, but there is progress! I realize that I look happier in the befor pictures, but that is not the case! I have issues with "mirror selfies" and was just taking the pic to show my sisters my new outfit! I am much happier now and it is not only weight related.
  • Me at 327 Me at 260 I have lost another 12 lbs since the last pic, but I'm not sure that you would be able to tell because I can't see from the pics a 67 lb weight loss. I'll take a different pic tomorrow! It is a work in progress!
  • Cystic acne was KILLING ME! Ok...not killing me, but I took great issue with no acne in my teens and early 20s, but ton's of acne in my late 20's and early 30's! I'm a licensed esthetician so acne is bad for business. I have no more acne, other than the occasional breakout! I also don't get cramps when my TOM arrives. It's…

  • I think the progress chart shows the importance of not quitting! My 50 lb gain hurt, but seeing it on the chart is excruciating. I look at that picture when I am discouraged and it shows me how important tracking is for my health! I'm not taking about just food, because I'm horrible about that, but tracking and recording…
  • I am with you on a "modified diet". Too much too soon causes me to give up, cheat, throw it out the window, and eat copious amounts of ice cream! The constant downward slope is just right!
  • Yes! From where I am to where I would like to be!! This is wonderful! Friend requesting you immediately!
  • It is still a daily battle! Fortunately, I can take Spiro. Believe me, the journey to get to a "balanced level" has been a long one. I don't have diabetes, but I have been tested for pre-diabetes when I was 80 lbs heavier. With every 10 lbs I lose, I have to go back to the doctor and get my bloodwork reevaluated. I'm…

  • Insulin resistance due to PCOS or PCOS due to insulin resistance? My Endo treats both (Spiro for pcos and Metformin for insulin resistance) and it has worked wonders in my energy level, hormones, skin, hair growth and weight loss!

  • This is impressive! You are super determined! Are you eating specific ryes of food or just tracking? I'm going to check out your food diary because I want to be like you!
  • You guys are amazing! Keep the downward slant going. I just think back about the effort to lose the 50 lbs that I gained and I could be under 200!! Way to go all!
  • Yes! Same here! Stopped tracking and really stopped caring and gain is what happened!
  • I have pcos and saw little to no improvement until I started to take Metformin and Spiro. My best results are with super low sugar and limited carbohydrate diets. My dr also gave the Spiro and birth defect warning. It has taken me 2 years to get balanced on these medications, but they work wonders! I let my pcos and…

  • Yes! Lap band, but as most WLS does, the loss was short lived until I actually changed my eating habits, became more aware of macros, and started being more active! I wear a fitness tracker every day and MUST get 10000 steps in daily.
  • PS...you can take a screen shot and post pics using the mobile app now! Even if it is a small loss, it could help someone in the same situation!
  • Wow! You are on the first page of this post (back in 2014) as almost in the 200s....you are phenomenal! I am friend requesting you immediately because I admire your determination.
  • Hey Sammy and Cat! I just joined the "lose 20 lbs by July 4th challenge in the motivation section. You guys should come and join too!
  • This is too lofty a goal for my by June, but maybe by the end of the summer! Started at 327 and am down to 248. I haven't been under 200 since jr high, almost 23 years ago! I'm adding you!
  • Hey all! I am 36 and have lost 80lbs, but have 90 more to lose! It's almost a halfway point. My story and my results are unique, but I can honestly say the only thing that works is eating better quality food, moving more, and patience! It is a long road, but it can be done! Feel free to add me, but I'm really horrible…
  • It sounds like you are off to a great start! I was on a roll for a while, but I let life get in the way and slipped on my eating and exercise. I started at 327 lbs and got a lap band in 2010. I lost 83 lbs in 9 months, but it was short lived because my good quality food turned to junk. I gained 50 back, but have since lost…
  • Thanks for the friend request! I'm trying to work on a healthier lifestyle, but worrying about the number on the scale always gets in the way! Great job on the 20 lb loss. Keep it up! I'm not a mom, but I'm working on health for future children! What are you doing to lose? Heather
  • Hey! I'm Heather and I started my journey at 327 lbs and am down to 249...in 5 years! It is a slow process, but it can be done. I had weight loss surgery in 2010 and lost 83 lbs in the first 9 months, but it didn't stay off because there is no quick fix. I gained almost 60 back, but have since lost it slowly over the past…
