  • I try to stay out of cliques on here. You will notice members on here acting like the regulars at a gym when the New Year comes. They hate all the newbies giving it a shot. Yes, lots will drop off but some won't. You never know. Just remember that its the internet and even though you do not know these people they will…
  • This thread has irked me from both sides, but this post is the best. Human bodies are just basic science. There isn't much of a guessing game involved.
  • Agreed! People here food stamps and government asst and automatically thing people with drug problems being lazy and not working. As a teacher in a low income area I know most families do the best they can with so little...even if that means hamburger helper! I would rather my students come fed...even if on cheaper…
  • The problem is you stated a controversial opinion on MFP! Of course everyone will find a way to disagree! I will say that to make this a lifestyle choice and NOT a diet, I do give in once and awhile. I had Wendy's for lunch the other day and I was happy. It fit with in my calorie count so its okay. Some of us are here to…
  • People always think they are getting attacked...its the internet, people need to chill.
  • sadly, you do not always get advice you want to hear. no one can change your eating habits but yourself. If you openly post your eating habits and ask for help people will tell you this, whether you already know it or not. This place is for motivation and support, and sometimes it might sound negative. Maybe if enough…
  • as far as easy...I use a lot from Campbells Recipes...I have the app, so I do not know the website exactly. Campbells does supply the nutrition info as well!
  • I am 30...nearing my goal (only 4 pounds away). I have already lost 36 and have has to do so while balancing a job, home, and a part time step daughter (6y/o). Now my goal isn't as important as much as toning and looking better. Feel free to add me. I always need supportive friends and I do log in daily!
  • I love my Brooks...I use them mainly for running/walking...but they do the trick for my kickboxing and weights!
  • Oh goodness...I ACTUALLY walk my dog daily...people are going to think my BF and I are maniacs in bed!
  • The answer really depends on the length of your run. I always have coffee before a morning run, but if I keep it around a 3ish mile run, coffee is all I need. When I was training for a half about a year back, the "professionals" recommended fueling up after 7 miles...so I guess if you know its a longer run eat anything you…
  • My awesome BF gave me a SportLine HRM/running watch. Seems pretty cool! My parents gave me a new running jacket and some workout shirts!! After this cup of coffee I am out to brave the cold!
  • THIS! People who are "bumping" to save the thread are doing it wrong. BUMP is actually an accronym for Bring Up My Post

  • I diagnosised my own cervical cancer. Made an appt with the OBGYN about it and proceeded to get a long lecture about google, web md and wasting her time. Needless to say I was fine and merely had a minor issue that required no treatment at all.
  • Oh good...I knew all that wine and vodka was doing my body good!
  • I think the fears are a bit silly, but I assure you, you are not the only one thinking this way. I bet the airports will have security measures in place because of this thought process. Sadly, our world keeps getting crazier and the airports are stepping up to keep us safe!
  • I just replied to your last post, and after reading this one, I do feel you are moving in the right direction!! Make sure you eat enough. It is a hotly debated topic around here, but many people will plateau or stall with weight loss if they do not eat enough! This site can really work wonders if you are dedicated. Keep it…
  • It might help to have your diary open. Sometimes what you think is healthy or reasonable isn't. Maybe if people could see your food choices and give suggestions that might help. Also, it saddens me that someone working for the military is on WIC. How horrible...but since you are strapped, limit eating out-portion control…
  • As much as I agree this is a public internet forum...so you have to take anything with a grain of salt. Lots of those kind of post have the same people as always commenting and LOTS of times its inside jokes and such. I have learned to not get upset and get over it.
  • this is what I think of for cleanse! :P
  • My friend was a pack a day smoker...then she got preggers...she quit cold turkey! Apparently being responsible for human life is a huge motivator! :P

  • It is when I reached a size 12 that I knew I needed to lose weight. I am 5'10" and yes a 12 is too big of a size for me. Humans were not meant to be big boned as people say, although culturally, we have come to accept this term and its normalcy. I am shooting for a size 6...and in some brands I am there. 12 is a good size…
  • I used to get 20+ miles a week. I just finally started running again after almost a year of not due to injury and I am at about 6 miles a week.
  • a long run! Coming home sweaty and breathless makes me feel awesome...its a bit of the endorphins and knowing I just kicked major butt! I will feel good all day after this!
  • awesome site! I think I need to try out some of those!
  • after a day with weights I am always sore then next day. Thats usually the day I will go for a couple mile walk. Its gets some cardio in and the walking is easy enough that it helps stretch sore muscles and makes me feel good!
  • wow...you are such an inspiration...and looking good!
  • I had a pretty effortless 2 weeks...I just laid in bed with the influenza virus, didn't eat much and when I did it was junk...oddly, the pounds flew off! I didn't even workout during this 2 week period of lathargy and nausea!
  • It says INCLUDING walking, she may be doing something else that burns way more than walking you know...
  • I fell once and landed on my tailbone... it was bruised and sore for almost a year, almost a year with no exercise, etc. (Granted this was before I was living a healthier lifestyle so I didn't seek out modified workouts or anything.) Almost 10 years later and I still can't stay in seated position for too long without…
