wow this is 3 years ago  how things have changed in my life since I opened this topic! unfortunately in my experience prednisolone adds weight quick so when you lose initially you lose big but then it quickly tapers. I see this was about 3 months ago I hope your journey is going well :flowerforyou:

Aw my heart goes out to you. Thats a tough position to be in. Are you able to swim or go walking? I met a friend in hospital who was missing about 70% of her lungs and was on predn for life. Lung issues are tough because they interfere with exercise. I am lucky I got off pred about a year and a half ago. I've lost the…

Sugar? google 'a calorie is not a calorie' or 'the bitter truth about sugar' or 'the skinny on obesity' If eating normally causes weight gain, my guess would be normal eating contains a lot of hidden sugar., maybe sweetners in coffee or something...

Wow you look fantastic at 150lbs!!!!!

I've never weight trained, I have hooked acromion joints in my shoulders so I have very little power and certain movements are very painful. I do like boxercise and I do that sometimes but I cant do certain routines and the ones I can do, I cant do too often. I guess maybe pilates or something would be good to try, I'll…

Good thought! It's definitely a pouch I'm allergic to dairy and some other stuff so I have a very strict diet, I don't touch anything with dairy in it which means I don't eat most processed food. I mostly eat a caveman sort of diet.

Thanks for all the replies everyone :) Its just so strange, people used to always tell me I was skinny when I was 145 before and nobodys tellin me that atm lol. My old jeans don't fit me yet and my dresses don't fit either (even though they're my clothes from when I was 147) so I guess my bodyshape has changed I guess I'll…

Wow you look great in your profile at 160, its a good weight on you!
-
but doesn't that show your top ten foods for just that particular meal? I get a different list depending to what meal I add to

Thats great Im delighted to hear it! I shudder to think what side effects we'll see in years to come of these sweetners considering the side effects withdrawal can produce!
-
:drinker: Thats amazing to hear! I'm totally allergic to painkillers so I have suffered each month in an awful state. I am so glad to hear how much this has helped you :drinker:
-
After the 7 days off you got sick going back on? Did you experience that sickness when you first started taking them? I don't have any spots as such. I get cysts which are extremely painful all over my body and diet doesn't stop them. My Dr thinks this is the best way to treat them. Fingers crossed anyway.

thats a great one!!

You look amazing!!!!! Well done you!!!!! :flowerforyou:

I totally agree with this, I don't understand the need for artificial sweetners at all. I don't really use sugar myself but I wouldn't have a problem with it either. I use honey and that does the trick and theres no calories in that really and it's good for you.
-
p.s. congrats on quitting artificial sweeteners, they are so bad, I don't know why they are even allowed to sell them to people.

This is just an opinion and not medical advice, I think it might be a good idea to call your doctor on the phone, just check in. But in my experience, this is withdrawal, I always think it's a good idea to cut things like this back gradually. (Its too late for you now to do that though) but for anyone else reading this and…

I absolutely agree. However in answer to the question of :"how did all of you come to hunger for the good stuff like what was posted above?" There have been studies done on exposure to junk food leading to junk food cravings. They did a study recently they took a bunch of rats with only exposure to health foods and exposed…

I have the food envy. My eating habits have been disgraceful. I've been missing meals here and there because of allergies and not trusting ingredients eating out. We went out for a sunday carvery yd. They had nothing suitable for dairy allergy people so I had a very plain looking plate while he had an amazing roast.…

I started at 186 lbs with a goal of 140lbs, now i'm at 145 I can see that I have another 10lbs to be the shape I want to be so I've moved my goal to 135lbs

God, I can't imagine how hard that must be out on the road with it! yikes. Yea mostly replacements with soya/almond help a lot but yea you do get the occassional family dinner where somebody just thinks you're being overly picky and lies about whats in the dinner....never ends well lol.
-
Oh my gosh that is severe!!! I hope that this gets more manageable for him! It depends what you mean by allergic reaction but I notice that the foods that you mention above are all Ibs triggers. Ibs and lactose intolerance go hand in hand a lot of the time. You may know all this already but I thought I'd mention it just in…
-
Yes I do know all that. There's no need to get up on a high horse about it. I have been lactose intollerant for a while and I am good at managing it. However mistakes happen, usually at the hands of family members cooking things in alternatives that contain buttermilk and not realising. But a little slip up in the past…

wow Alot of responses Thank you all :flowerforyou: Just read through everyone's posts and found them highly informative. It seems like people generally either meet life partners on there or meet a load of weirdos on there It does sound like an interesting experience though  sure I'll give it a go but I don't know if…

You do this with Crohn's? Gosh I don't know anything about that but hope you've checked it with your doctor. For me, no I don't think IBS is a reason "TO DO" a salt flush at all, the very opposite in fact. There are different types if IBS o_O Maybe those who suffer constipation could try a laxative,....but I would never…
