I hear you: it's just that the thought of regaining the weight is quite heartbreaking. I'm tired of th yoyo dieting. I won't mind if I gain a couple of pounds or so... but sometimes I've gained many. Usually though, now is when I'd start to slip up and this time so far I'l doing okay. I'll try and keep it up.

I really like the idea of if it fits your macros. I'm a vegetarian though, and so for me it's more if it fits my kcal. It's good to hear someone with the same kind of experience and getting tips on how to get through it :-) My first exam is now a month away, and already, the motivation to workout has slipped, though the…

I understand what you're going through. I first got fit two years ago in my second year at uni. It was all so new and when the exams came, staying healthy really was a priority. I was so obsessed with keeping track of my workouts, meals, etc... In the end the exams went well and no harm was done, but looking back I think I…

Thanks! I would love that for once I can say that I didn't gain any weight or hardly any. If I can keep it off during finals, I can keep it off...
-
Yeah, indeed... problem is, I start working the week after, and I'll be working from 8 am to 5 pm everyday, except weekends. But we'll get through this :-)
-
Yep, I will increase my intake to maintenance, that's for sure. I don't expect to really lose any weight during those weeks...

Thanks for the advice! I always liked coke, but during the exams I usually drink just too much of it. Last time I even started some energie drinks with extra caffeine and sugar... bug no-no. But I'll take it on board, and I think that realistically 5 hours is the most I'll get many nights.

Yeah, I know: but the salt is so addictive! And peanuts, I love peanuts when I'm stressed (salted ones) :-(

Thanks everyone. I've gotten some really good tips. I'll try and exercise at least half an hour a day during the exams: I won't buy any junkfood and I'll logg everything on mfp. And you're right, diet soda isn't so bad in this case.
-
Thanks for all the advice and good luck :-)
-
I think that that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'll stay at my dorm, and prepare lunches and dinners for the week. I've never actually done this before during the exams, so that's a great idea

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will try and sleep more, but it'll be hard... yes, more fruit and less snacks. I guess I'll just have to make sure that I have enough discipline not to buy those foods.

I know, long term I really do need to find a way to fight the actual stress. But for now I just need something to save my progress...
-
Feel free to add me too :-)

I feel for you, because as you speak, it's like you're talking about me! I'm the same height as you, and just like you, maintaining was hardest and the weekends seemed to destroy everything. I struggled for months, until I got tired and gave up: I gained weight big time and saw that goal disappear so quickly literally…

Thanks for the info everyone. :-)

I do a lot of spinning: I know, it only works the legs, but it did help me lose a lot of weight! Otherwise compound exercises like jumping jacks burn a lot of calories, or so I've heard :-)
-
Hey, feel free to add me. The more motivation, the better :-)
-
Feel free to add me :-) I too have made myself so many promises and deadlines, but have broken them time and time again. I feel for you!
-
I'm quite new as well, and also looking to build a support group for the gruelling task that is weight loss. Feel free to add me :-)

I'm a vegetarian, have been for seven years now and still going strong. Feel free to add me :)

My advice: try to put those people behind you for good. Sometimes I've used negative thoughts, emotions as motivation: "remember when such and such said this or that", but in the end, those negative thoughts would always drag me back down. Instead, simply focus on the future; you're gonna make it. Make sure that you eat…

You're right. I don't like stress, I don't like feeling unhappy. I want a quick fix, not just for the weight loss, but for the stress, tiredness, etc. And sometimes, I must admit, I think I've even told myself: my health is not a priority right now, it's studying, it's this, it's that... I'm gonna try as hard as I can this…

I don't think you can starve so you survive. Like if there was too little food, someone who ate 100 kcal a day wouldn't live longer than someone eating 1000 kcal a day due to "starvation mode", just doesn't make much sense to me.
-
Yeah, those pictures  sometimes I flick back and fourth between two of them and see the drastic change.
-
I agree with everything you say... I guess I already know it. I know this is a lifestyle change, I know it'll make me feel better, I know i should do it for me... Yet I still fail time and time again... It's like when stress kicks in, I reach for comfort, and that's food, yeah, I know, it's lame but true.
-
You can add me and I'll give you support and advice when I can. I too ma quite new to MFP, but not weight loss, and sometimes, support is what I need as well
-
How do you add someone? I'm new and don't know...
-
That makes sense, I guess; I mean, you won't probably gain or lose weight over a day, but only over a period of time depending on your average intake. I think that this time I'll let it go, but if it happens again I might do this, as otherwise I'll start to feel guilty.
-
Thanks for the input  I think I was just hungry through dieting? I've been fine for most days, but after four weeks it kind of builds up... And I do drink a ton of water, protein is low according to MFP, but I try and keep it high as possible.
