Thanks all - I will take a look at the other programs mentioned. I had asked a PT for a program but it was light weight and high repitition. I got so bored of it though. He didn't really want me to add much weight on which is the total opposite to what I've been reading. I did feel I was getting a little stronger but not…

I was just being flippant about the "add 25lbs of muscle" comment - I know that wouldn't happen over night. Thanks for the link. I've just joined the group which summarises it nicely. Definitely easier than reading the PDF

Thanks for your reply. It seems to be working for you - congrats on losing 56lbs!!! I found the PDF online and it aimed at guys which did put me off. I will try to find the women's thread on here

Feel free to add me. We have pretty much the same stats. I'm 130lbs and 5'4 - goal is to lose 9kg (20lbs) I've been on MFP before and lost a tiny bit of weight but I'm back again hoping to achieve my goal
-
You can add me. Always good to have motivating friends on here. I log on pretty much every day. As you can see I'm just beginning the process so not lost anything yet.
-
Add me I have a similar goal too

I did my exercises this morning. OK with squats and wall-sit but boy does that plank hurt after 20 seconds!! I will keep going!! Hope everyone else is doing well!
-
Hi You can add me too. I'm 31 and back on MFP recently. I want to lose 9kg (around 20lbs) just to get rid of the wobbly bits. We can motivate each other on our progress. Good luck !!

Thank you all so much for your support! Totally right - I need to get the good snacks in rather than the bad ones. Also read somewhere that by eating more protein it should curb my sweet tooth so will try that too. The lifting programs look tough but worth a try. Just need to get myself to the gym more. I run and swim but…

I'm up for this challenge although 5 mins for plank .....seems impossible at the moment. But I'll give it a go

Hi Have you been keeping track of your measurements? Sometimes even with all the effort the weight may not go quickly but you should hopefully find that you have lost an inch or two around your waist/leg/arm etc

Hi Debs welcome to MFP

Welcome! You've done really well to lose 6 lbs already. Keep it up. There are 14 pounds in 1 stone. Sorry I don't know much about protein and fibre stuff as I don't drink it. I'm aiming to lose 20 lbs which I'm finding difficult but I use MFP for encouragement and ideas. I'm sure you'll find it really helpful. I only lost…

Hi Don't give up. I've not lost much weight at all but I've lost an inch around my tummy. Don't just use the scale, use a tape measure too. Good luck!

Welcome all newcomers! I've only been here a few weeks and I'm totally addicted. Its great to read the success stories on here and give advice in areas that you know about. I've changed my diet and exercise loads more. I haven't really lost any weight which is a real heartache considering the amount of effort I'm putting…

I put it in the cardio bit because it doesn't quite fit in the weight training section. I don't know if this is the easiest way but I typed body pump in the search field and it came with no response. But on the same page it said add new exercise or something like that. So I just called it body pump and put 60 mins = 400…

I go to body pump once a week. I read that on average you burn 400 cals per 60 minute class. Thats what I log it as. I think if you're really pushing yourself and becoming tired at the end of each routine you can claim the 400 cals Jit

Welcome! I've been here only 3 weeks now. This is a great place for encouragement which is what I have been missing in previous attempts at getting into shape. I'm not really losing any weight which is fustrating but I have made friends with my tape measure. I'm hoping if the weight doesn't want to go then maybe the inches…
