  • A boardgame cafe sounds ace to me :-) I have a very very soft spot for Talisman - I still have my original edition with all the extras cut out from white dwarf magazine. I also have the settlers ones, amazingly good games.
  • I haven't table-top rpg'd in years :-) I still have all the deadlands stuff though, I loved that game, different mechanics & a nicely odd steampunky wild west.
  • Love the picture :-)
  • Morrisons eat smart range. Particularly the fromage frais in place of creme fraiche/sour cream - makes a massive difference when I do mexican style food! Otherwise I try to stock up on plenty of veg - again, Morrisons is low cost for that. I'd agree that M&S is pricey, nice but expensive for what it is.
  • Love it! Particularly the bit about the "real world" :-)
  • Steam tells me I have played 33 hours... I'm quite sure that 30 of those are me stumbling back to town under 5x my loot allowance because goddammit if it can be picked up it can be sold & gold is shiny :-)
  • I have, much like many others here, several favourites! Old school - Planescape Torment. More recent "old" school - Morrowind Currently playing? Skyrim & Fallout NV. Also enjoyed DragonAge & Neverwinter Nights & Baldurs Gate 2.... I particularly liked having Minsc in the party for that, what better than walking through the…
  • When I get home on Thursday I'll post mine up... I'm on a low-end machine though, so probably not as pretty sa some of these & I just love the bound swords - must find that spell
  • You think a day is bad? I'm away from my machine now until Thursday evening  I'm loving it, although it has pointed out to me that the machine upgrade I've been um'ing & ah-ing about is definitely needed (running on low quality).
  • Definitely ask the folk that work there! I just started at the gym at my work & they did me a full workout & explained all the machines and what needed to be set for each one. Naturally I forgot most of it the next time I went & I just asked the person on the desk again :-) You should be able to get at the very least an…
  • Dunmer.... because I read somewhere that their racial involves being shrouded in flames & that sounds pretty. Otherwise, I generally tend to go fairly "good" based, but I always join whichever assassin's guild is on offer, I'm not entirely sure how I reconcile this with being "good" but as I'm slaughtering innocent…
  • Favourite Games... hmmm, tricky. Boardgames: Talisman, munchkin, any of the catan ones. Single Player RPG: I think planescape torment for the storyline & the fantastic selection of companions - a floating skull with a thing for zombies - brilliant!. All of the elder scrolls for sheer size & freedom. I'm also enjoying…
  • Who are you! Ann Age? 37 Female or male? Female RP? Yep, board, tabletop, book & computer (some of these in the distant past, some not so distant!) Oh - by book I mean the old Fighting Fantasy series - I suspect those at the tender age of about 9 or 10 were my introduction into this whole other world  LARP? Yep,…
  • Me! Me! Me! Really cannot wait for Friday, just hope my copy gets delivered. Foolishly I agreed to go visit friends on Saturday/Sunday but I have a whole week off soon, so I foresee a lot of gaming and a little of anything else getting done that week!
  • Add me to the box! I only recently "completed" the mainline quest in Oblivion after over 100hrs gameplay... I got too distracted doing everything else. Although some games I've managed to finish, I do think my favourites are just so big that I burn out before reaching the "end" :-)
  • I know how to change the wheel on a car... so far I've never had to do so. Would I do it myself? All depends on when & where the tire blew! I'm not risking my personal safety just for the sake of showing I can change the wretched thing! Do I know how the enginge works? Nope & I'm not interested. I know how to check the oil…
  • Well, seeing as nobody has spoken on behalf of the Airedale Terriers, I'll put in a word for the King of the Terriers  I'll say upfront, that they're not a dog for everyone - they're a medium-large size breed and very strong with it. Lifespan of 12-15 years, they don't tend to suffer from too many illnesses (going…
  • It's really hard when you're feeling low to get motivated. That we're heading into Autumn/Winter doesn't help either - all my instincts are telling me to eat up because it's going to be cold!! I also find the dark mornings/evenings don't help much either. Are you seeing a doctor about the depression? It might be worth…
  • I like chocolate & alcohol & ice-cream. I just don't eat as much of them as I used to. I can't eat "clean" as for four days of the week I'm away from home & have to eat canteen food - there are no nearby shops. I do however like fruit & veg and try to eat as much of them as is possible. I also take vitamin supplements…
  • I love ice-cream. I have done since I was a toddler. I will not deprive myself of it as chances are, I'll only binge on it when I'm next feeling rubbish about something. What I do now is either eat weight-watchers ones, walls solero's (low cal - about 99 for a lolly), or I buy a tub of good quality expensive organic…
  • PC RPG's forever  Waiting for Skyrim to arrive, love bethesda's games. Not entirely sure I've actually finished one... but clocked hundreds of hours in morrowind & oblivion hehe. Bioware are also huge favourites of mine, looking forward to seeing SWTOR when it finally arrives! Oh, occasionally strategy games if I'm…
  • Amazing results :-) You can definitely see a difference!! I've been doing this 1st time round & I've not done much exercise at all in the last few years, so to those wondering, beginners can do this!
  • 37.... I certainly don't feel it, have been told I don't look it & would like to be fitter & healthier before I turn 38 next February!! No children or dependents of any form whatsoever, so no excuse for my shape except a love of food & not enough love of exercise! Happy to cheer on anyone else wanting support
  • Eric *and* Alcide please..... What? I can't be greedy?
  • I'm 5'8" tall. I have broad shoulders, so I have got away with carrying more weight than most people think I weigh. That said, I'm not blaming my physique for my being overweight, that's entirely due to me not eating the right things & not exercising. My current goal is around 12stone, but, as it's been over 15 years since…
  • I live in a hotel Monday to Thursday usually because of my work. What I've done since the start of this year (my start of healthy kick) is make sure I have breakfast in the hotel - most hotels will do poached or scrambled eggs with tomatoes or beans - avoid the sausages because you don't know how good they are. Mushrooms…
  • Hello fellow nerds  I feel happily at home in this thread. My nerd qualifications: Lasting love of science fiction brought into being by my Dad playing the 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy' in the car on a family trip to the South of France when I was about 9ish or so. When we got back home I raided his entire…
  • I'm 5'8". Medium-ish frame, my shoulders are way too broad to class me as a small frame. Somewhere in the region of 209lbs at the moment & right now I'd just like to see that go below 200, as that will be the lightest I've been in 15 years I think. Eventual goal is somewhere around 168-175lbs - I'll see how I feel when I…
  • It sounds to me like it could be a bit of sibling jealousy going on there - does your sister also want to get healthy maybe but doesn't have your motivation & so denigrates your achievements? She may also not be thinking about the effect her comments have on you. Irrespective, this has upset you, which is a shame when…
  • According to most standard name dictionaries, Ann is a derivation of Anne, is a derivation of Anna, is a derivation of Hannah, meaning grace or favour. Having just looked at the urban dictionary definitions though, the first few of which suggest that Ann's are the most bootylicious creatures on the planet, I think I'll be…
