I know it seems like the backward way to go, but eating more worked for me. I lost almost three pounds the first week that I increased my calorie intake, and all I did was add about 100-200 calories per day. You can do that just having a handful of peanuts. Now obviously 3 pounds is not the healthiest, but it was like my…

I'm working on losing 50 - that's close to 60 and I despise running, so I'm no help there. I just like that you're honest! I like walking way better than running, but I get bored with it. So a few months back, we got a bowflex off of craig's list and once I got the hang of it, I just didn't want to stop. I replaced the…

Checking in from the suburbs of Dallas, TX. Woo woo Collin County!

I didn't really have a problem with weight - until a traumatic experience in 2006, and I started taking a medication to help me with PTSD. I gained about 15 pounds, but didn't really worry. Then I started birth control, and I gained another 10. My husband was pleased, so I didn't worry. Then a few years after that, I got…

all that AND you were brave enough to post a picture of yourself! By jove, I think you will get this done!

I've been divorced, with a step child. I was the leave-er in our case, and it was tough, but it was the best thing. Unfortunately, no one but your husband really knows why he left and maybe it is still salvageable. I would definitely ask him about the counseling if he hasn't already, but if he is not willing to try the…

Well, I started using MFP about a month ago, and I lost about 6 pounds then last week, I came in well under my calories every day (enough that I got the message almost every day last week), increased my cardio and circuit training, and I only lost 0.2 pounds. Now, I don't know if that means I went into starvation mode, or…

Agreed on the beef, and there are some really great lean cuts that are really inexpensive. Sirloin is usually pretty affordable. We just tried some eye of round tonight for the first time - ok not like a nice tender juicy prime rib, but it was tasty. Fish is awesome for protein and so very good for you for so many other…

are you even cleared for exercise yet? I had to wait 8 weeks or so, but I had a c section. If you're cleared for exercise, then you can probably work in a brisk walk with kiddos. Until your littlest sweetie gets a little older, it's probably going to be a little tough to get the exercise you feel like you need. I don't…

I was hoping I'd find a post like this today. I'm having this problem too, but I'm full. I don't want anymore to eat. I think adding some of the higher calorie cooking aids like butter and olive oil is a great idea. In fact, I'm really looking forward to having butter on my brussel sprouts again. I never thought I'd get…

Hey welcome everyone that posted today!

Hey all are welcome, but just remember, we can't encourage each other if we don't post! Let's keep it rolling ladies :) I had my weigh in this morning, and I lost a pound. That is good, since it is my weekly goal. I did remarkably well on my calories this weekend, considering some of the food at my mom's house for Easter…

Seconding the Myoplex recommendation! I used the myoplex when I was pregnant as a meal replacement, for many reasons, but mostly because it would stay down in the mornings. It was both pretty good tasting, with low aftertaste, and it was pretty reasonably priced. I liked the chocolate fudge flavored one. Good health to you…

oh yea, that is pretty tuff. I was a vegetarian for several years for health reasons. Add some seaweed, and legumes. You like beans right? Aduki beans are super high in fiber and protein and taste great with some boca crumbles and carrots. I recommend cooking them in a pressure cooker to drastically reduce cooking time. If…

I'd also suggest a chiropractor. I have the same problem, frequently because I have a slightly bowed spine, and a once per month visit usually sets me right. If you live in the Dallas, TX area, I recommend the Parker School of Chiropractics (which is, so I hear, one of the best schools in the country for chiropractics and…

And most of all, if you get discouraged, your MFP pals are here to help!

pickle juice always makes me feel good after a really heavy work out, but I guess it really depends on what it does for your sodium and if that is a concern for you. If it fits in with your diet plan (calories -wise) then I can't see any harm to it, but I am also no nutritionist. Good Health to you!

good to know! Thanks for the advice!

reading over all of your bad meals, and I think I just gained a pound or two...

Hi, I sent a friend request too! I'm 32 in Texas and trying to lose 51 pounds. Seeing the success of others will help me to stay motivated!

thanks for the tip on the classico sauce! I want to try the recipe too, but a jar is nice to have around when a quick meal is needed :):flowerforyou:

my mouth is watering for a very bad-girl Whataburger with bacon, cheese, grilled onions, mayonnaise, Ketchup, tomatoes, and pickles with awesome onion rings on the side. wow. I haven't had a Whataburger in about three months. My favorite healthy food, right now, is actually a tuna-burger patty (no bun, non-fat miracle…

I'm sure you're nutritionalist took this into account, but chemotherapy treatments can also change your metabolism. I know most people think that everyone loses weight when they undergo treatment for cancer, but that is really not always true - in fact, in my experience it is rarely true. I watched my mom dad, several…

I am actually terrified of running because I look so strange doing it, but a coworker who loves running told me today that it is so different from walking because, on a good run, you actually spend more time in the air than on the ground. He said that running is more buoyant and euphoric than walking. So that made it sound…

it's so weird I just came across this post, because I just spent ten minutes marching back and forth across my room to make up for the extra cals I had today. Ok I didn't quite do 1200 cals over, but I think if you stick to your regular calorie goals and pepper in some more cardio, it will sort of balance out in the end. I…

posting on this because I want to be sure and weigh in on May 1 too!

I think it's extraordinarily sad that I am sweating after trying aerobics for 15 minutes today, and only burned 130 calories. I think I would have burned more doing circuit training, and gotten more work in. I feel whipped after only 15 minutes of aerobics. Who'd have thought that after four months of working out on the…

I don't know about saying something, unless you know them in real life, and then I would have an offline conversation with them. If they are only your friends on MFP, then I would question, personally, if it was my place to make that observation. I'm all about being supportive, and in the absence of being able to do that,…

Don't discount the protein shakes and powders. For getting your daily protein, those can be a real help, especially when it comes to keeping weight on without gaining. I agree with some of the other posters - with your metabolic and gastrointestinal issues, it is Highly recommended that you seek professional advice for…
