I love chocolate! The first thing I do is to add a Tbsp of cocoa powder, along with some brown sugar and milk to my morning coffee. It ends up being 91 cals and lots of days, I get so busy that I don't have time to drink it in one sitting, so I reheat it and it lasts me all morning. The other thing I keep in the house is…

Although I really couldn't care less what size anyone else is, I WOULD like to know what size I am! One of the things that stumped me after I got down to my goal weight was that I had no idea what size it correlated to. When I was at this weight 15 years ago, I wore a size 6 or 8. I NEVER had any desire to be below a size…

Sounds good... I like the addition of chicken!

I take a probiotic daily, mainly because they help to balance hormones. I don't think they have worked single-handedly, but along with a good diet and exercise, I'm fairly symptom-free and I've exceeded my original goal! I also rarely get sick, although I have 3 kids that tend to bring bugs home. So, although I can't prove…

It's okay. I think she's safe. I just took a swipe at her and lived to tell about it! To make this appropriate to the topic...Another verse I think is helpful in our weight journey is this: Proverbs 17:22 New International Version (©1984) A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.…

LOL... Thank you for the giggle! I'm so glad God gave us a sense of humor. I think He has one! After all, He made you. Just kidding! Just kidding! *ducks and runs away* :flowerforyou:

You can find a list of some of the Christian groups at: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/search?phrase=Christian If you have a particular faith, you can type that into the search box to see if there are any specific to you!

Although this would have probably been less "exciting" in one of the Christian groups, I've been refreshed by the Scriptures, nonetheless! A verse I think is fitting is I Timothy 6:6: "But godliness with contentment is great gain." How much happier would be our journey, both in life and in weight loss, if we would…

I have a question... Do you incorporate "cheat" days into your plan? If not, that might give you something to look forward to. It doesn't work for everyone, but it has definitely helped me to feel less imprisoned and more liberated. I have made it a practice to "cheat" one day a week, where I don't count ANYTHING. Labor…

Don't give up! 57 lbs. is awesome! You've come too far to let yourself slide backwards, so the only way to go is forward! We all go through times when emotionally, we're just tired of fighting. Our society is not conducive to discipline or any lasting happiness because it feeds the desire for instant gratification inside…

The first thing that comes to mind is why don't you ask her and give her time to think about it? Then, you plan it all and make it happen! Not knowing your wife, the next thing I thought of is to make it a 2-part gift, particularly if you have kids. If you do, then maybe the day before her birthday, you and the kids plan a…

There's nothing wrong with asking for a box or only eating a bit or two of something given to you and saving the rest for later (to eat or throw away if it's not worth the calories). You could say, "I would feel miserable if I ate all of that and I'd rather enjoy it twice (or more!) times than wish I hadn't had it at all!"…

When I first started exercising (basically C25K), I had sweat dripping off my elbows. I still sweat a lot, but not quite that badly, so maybe there's a little hope! Actually, I think it's a good thing (as long as you can get to a shower ASAP) since you're getting rid of lots of impurities through your sweat!

I almost always eat close to 1000 cals after 5PM and it did not hurt my weight loss. If you're not noticing any problems and it works for you, go for it!
-
I'd agree with everyone that caffeine withdrawal may be contributing to your problem. Do you exercise? If not, you might try a nice, brisk walk to boost your energy and your mood!

Actually, that wasn't something I said when I was overweight. I never thought it was even a possibility when I started! But, as I started to lose weight, I started hearing comments that let me know people were worried...don't get too skinny, etc.. In a way, it irritated me because I'm at a perfectly healthy weight, but I…

Interesting! Thanks!

I'd agree with those that suggested probiotics and coffee (works best on an empty/almost empty stomach). Another thing that we tried for my little girl is kiwi, which sounds strange, but it's supposed to do the trick. So, if you like kiwi, you might give it a try! Hope things get better for you!

This. Just starting out, don't try to do a really long or really hard workout. You want a workout that's a challenge for your level (makes your heartrate go up and/or breaks a sweat), but doesn't make you fall on the floor with exhaustion! It might be easier to talk yourself into a shorter workout, and you may find that it…

I think the underlying issue isn't when or even what you eat necessarily (although some foods do cause us to retain water temporarily or affect our hormones negatively). I think the issue is that your body is responding to a change in your normal routine. Many people see a big jump in weight after a weekend. Generally,…

I'd agree with others that say that eating after 7 won't hurt your weight loss progress. It gets lumped into the same category as needing to eat breakfast to lose weight. Those are personal preferences and the key is to do what works for you. However, if you really don't want to eat after 7, then you can add higher calorie…

If you think leashes reflect bad parenting, you should see those awful parents that actually STRAP their kids into a carseat while they let their pet roam around the vehicle... I've even seen them let their pet sit on their laps. I can't imagine how unloved those poor children feel, while they look on. They must feel so…

Yes, it will absolutely get easier! Don't give up! You'll learn to swap foods that mess with your macros for ones that fit better, but it takes time and trial and error. Keep an eye on your diary and see if you can pick out which foods send you "over the edge" for the day and then see if 1) there's something else you can…

Ive been maintaining since April, and like another poster said, actually lost a few more lbs. after I started "maintaining". Like you said, it is a mental adjustment. We have to get out of the habit of downward progress, without going back to old habits. To help myself adjust, I gradually added 50 cals per week until my…

Finally... somebody who's as confused as I am! LOL I can eat anything that I'm willing to give up some of my allotted calories and macros for. Period. Over the last 35 lbs, my tastes have changed as I learned that some things can be substituted for other things that I enjoy just as much. I've learned to order only what I…

As someone else said, HRM aren't really designed to monitor heartrate all day. You'd need a FitBit or a BodyBugg for that. As far as strapless HRMs go, I had a MIO Drive Plus (actually, still do), and it was pretty worthless. It only recorded the HR when you physically touched the sensors, which takes 5-10 seconds to…

You're going to have to gradually either add in calories or back off on exercise a little, or both. When I started "maintenance" a few months ago, I did lose a few more pounds because going from losing to maintenance is a mental adjustment. I gradually increased my daily calories by 50 calories or so every week or two…

I just got some last week and ... this is going to sound terribly sinful to some... but, I mixed it into my homemade chocolate ice cream to make chocolate peanut butter ice cream! It turned out really good! Otherwise, I haven't experimented much with it yet. I did mix a little with water so that my girls and I could taste…

If you spend much time around very overweight people, then I think most would agree that they are disabled... They can't do things that "normal" people can do. That doesn't mean that they should be pandered to as someone who needs special privileges, per se, but like all disabled people, they should have equal rights to…

Yes, I've found that the chest strap reading can be affected by some underwires (don't ask me how to know which ones... it's a puzzle to me!) The Polar would be a little erratic (at times) and either not be able to register my heartrate or shoot it up to 190 for no apparent reason, and I finally figured out that the…
