Awesome news! Great job!

I'm in semi-maintenance now, meaning although I'm okay with where I am, I'd still like to lose a few more pounds eventually. My goal for now is mainly to maintain what I've lost until I've got time and energy to work on it. I've been doing more IF than 5:2, since it works best for me to just have my sweetened coffee in the…

Awesome! That's encouraging to all of us! :)

Just finished my first week without any logging and found that the scales have dropped 0.8 lbs. I think maybe I tend to pad my calories in my head, since I don't actually know how many I'm eating. Hopefully, it'll continue, but it's encouraging to see a drop after watching it go in the wrong direction for too long.

The 6 weeks ends tomorrow. I did not even try to log this week (except for once). As usual, all my logging and exercise fell to pieces once school started, so from here on out, I'm taking my wings and trying to fly the 5:2 without logging. However, I did make some headway with the 6 week challenge and I'm hoping that it…

I planned on doing my 2nd fast for the week today, but decided to try a new recipe for supper and changed my mind in the middle of the meal! LOL :p I think I'll shoot for a lower cal day today and then a real 500 fast tomorrow. That's the nice thing about this eating plan... It's very flexible!

Week #5, First fast is today. It seems like these weeks have gone awfully fast!
-
Great job, flossyruby1! :)

Weigh in today showed a 1.2 lb. loss from last week. Yay!! :) We started school this week, so no workouts yet (which means I'll have to squeeze one in for the next three days if I want to meet my goal...That's something I'll have to work on to try to get some sort of schedule.) Second fast for the week will be today, but…

I usually only have coffee (with molasses/sugar and cream) for breakfast on fast days and then a light (about 200 cals) lunch, a light (about 200 cals) dinner, and a light bedtime snack. I don't want my WOE to get in the way of our family meals or seem too radical for my kids, so it's important to me to eat lunch and…

Weigh in today showed a 0.4 lb drop... It wouldn't be overly exciting except that it's in the right direction, so that's something I hadn't been seeing prior to 5:2. :) My second fast day is today.

Yes, I've seen how faithful you've been and you're doing great! Yay for another happy story! :)
-
That is amazing, Mrs. G! :) I've only lost 6 lbs. in a little over 4 weeks, but since I could only GAIN before that, I'm pretty happy with that. I want to lose at least 10 more pounds. Usually, the start of school means the end of any progress, but I'm optimistic that I can make this plan work in spite of a crazy busy…

I'm having the same problem this week since it will be packed full of "out-of-the-normal". My only two 'normal' days are back to back, so I can only use one of them. So, I'm going to count today as a fast day, and try to get as close as possible. I figure close is better than no fast at all.
-
Wow! Great job! :)
-
I'm planning on the second fast for Week 2 today. I had a 0.2 lb. loss from last week, so that's progress! :)
-
Awesome! I'm happy for you, too! :)

Aniqa....Try not to be discouraged. It would be nice if weight was a science, but it fluctuates throughout the day and is rarely the same two days in a row! Remember it takes 3500 calories to build a pound of fat, so unless you've eaten 10,000 extra calories (above your tdee) since the last time you weighed, then it's…

Wasn't able to log on Saturday (and I never do on Sunday), but I'm starting the second week today with a fast. I lost 1.2 lbs. last week, which made me very happy, and I'm hoping for another dip on Thursday.

That's the beauty of this plan is that is does give a little room for life. Today's my second fast of Week 1 of the challenge. A friend gave us a bunch of green beans, so I'm going to cook those up for dinner a little later with some potatoes and ham, I think. (It's something I can taste test through the day without adding…

Oh, one more thing I just wanted to clarify... I spend quite a bit of my day sitting, so my 'average' day is pretty sedentary. If you're usually very active throughout the day (not counting your workouts), your activity level might be different than mine. Or, if you workout a lot but don't usually eat back exercise…
-
Oops, sorry... I misunderstood and thought you had already lost 5 lbs. of that. From what I've read, the body is generally willing to give up 0.5 to 1 lb of fat per week on the average, so it's not impossible for you to get to at least the lower end of your goal by the time you go away. I guess the only way to find out is…

I'm not the expert here, but I don't think that would be too little, especially since you're so close to your goals. And, what you're doing seems to be working well for you. One thing I've done is to set my goals to 0 pounds per week and the activity level to sedentary. When you do that, MFP will tell you what your…

I also only have less than 20 lbs. to lose, and I've lost 6 of of those in 3 weeks. I think, like Hannah said, consistency is the key, because there are some weeks that you won't lose anything, but if you stay consistent (even when you feel like it's not working), your body usually rewards you later with a nice loss. 9-14…

Yes, I think that's part of the success. (Like when you haven't eaten all day and are 'starved', but you get full really fast since your belly has shrunk.) It's okay to have a little bit of a calorie deficit on non-fast days, as long as you're eating enough to let your body know that it doesn't need to conserve for another…

Thanks, Snaps, for starting this challenge! It really helped yesterday, since it gave me a good reason to force myself into a workout last night to make up for the extra calories (can you say DQ Ice Cream Cone?!) I ate yesterday. Normally, this would be my 2nd fast day, but this week's schedule is different than normal, so…

Good job, aniqa109! :)

Checking in for the 6 week challenge! 1st fast day is today. Over the next 6 weeks, my goal is to stay within my calorie goal (M-Sat), include two 500 "fast days" per week, and have 3 workouts per week.
-
Count me in, too!

I reset my goals for MFP to 0 pounds per week and it set my cals at 1560, based on my information. (I've actually eaten a little over that most days, to compensate for workouts, but I think it's fairly close.)
