Amen to Kim's prayer. Lord, give wisdom, insight, and as only you can, please bring redemption to this situation.

I had to buy new trousers yesterday, in a UK size 10, smaller than I've ever worn in my adult life (although there is definitely vanity sizing going on, as one pair labelled 10 was larger than the 12 I was wearing into the shop!) Not sure what that equates to in US sizing...size 6?

I like the 'anne of Green Gables' sentiment. Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it. One off day isn't enough to seriously derail the plan, unless I let it. I try to use the same philosophy in my Christian walk too, as each day is usually filled with mistakes. However, God forgives me unceasingly, so I need to apply…

I'm 5'3", 36 (nearly 37). If my conversion is right, I weigh about 149 now, would like to get down to 135 ish, but have been bouncing around 150 for about 6 months. Goal - to avoid getting type 2 diabetes like other members of my family..

All food uncooked. When in school, we burned a peanut as fuel to heat water to determine the energy it contained (and so determined the calorific value). In labs where they determine the calories in food, they do pretty much the same. (To heat 1 ml water by 1*C, it takes 1 Joule, I think, from memory)

Thanks.

Heavenly Father, I include my 'amen'. Lord, I lift to you those who have become discouraged, or those for whom logging is too much at the moment. Would you bless those ladies in their circumstances, so that their relationship with you is strengthened above everything else. Lord Jesus, please help us not to get so consumed…

I think there is worth in just logging. Don't worry too much about the using up calories part to start with. If you feel hungry, drink some water and then see how you feel a bit later. For me the key thing is always distracting myself from wanting to eat, by doing something...(work, ironing, reading, going for a walk).…

Thanks so much Kimmieb2. There was a meeting today regarding the future of the church. The pastor's notice now runs to the end of February, so that's marginally better. God has big plans for our community, but we are considering that it may not be in the manner our congregation has been. God will build His church. I'll…

Welcome Kate! These lovely ladies will be part of your great 'cloud of witnesses' to rejoice when you rejoice and encourage you when you feel down... I have loved spending the weekend with you IRL, so here we go on the next bit of the adventure if our lives!

Update... The trustees of the church have given the pastor notice as they do not think there is sufficient money to pay him into the new year. All the visitors we have had have decided to join another local fellowship (in the next town), but still come to our congregation when we're doing a 'Messy Church' as they want to…

The whole song is about the many reasons we have to praise God - the song's title is 10,000 reasons. For me, it reminds me to keep on finding those examples of common grace, to praise Him, no matter what. Matt Redman, who wrote the song, has contruibuted some devotional material to Bible.com, which may help you work out…

Just wanted to encourage those who've been praying. We have one new church member, and have also had 5 visitors at our guest service this afternoon. God is good...signs of him moving are so encouraging!
-
Feel free to add me. I've found that MFP friends, particularly christian ladies have helped no end in being accountable and encouraged...

I can testify that 'All through the storm...He's the anchor, the rock'. God Bless. Have prayed youy will know God's arms round you at this time. J

Being transformed by the renewing of my mind... Happy for you to add me. Jo
-
Totally agree with this - taking up the cry to be transformed by the renewing of the mind! Only our Lord and Saviour is in that business, so I'm totally on board to seek the Holy Spirit's help in that battle... Praying for us collectively to win these skirmishes. J

Not so wise yet, but God's working on me...including my skewed self image. Feel free to add me... J

Check the offers on bravissimo.com, lots of advice there (32G/34F UK here). I have both Shock Absorber and Panache types, and use them interchangably. However, get a good fit, so get a few to try on if you are ordering online...! J

I can no longer run the app on my mobile (htc desire C) after the 31 May update. It stops at 'synchronising measurements' and then kicks me out. Wireless internet is fast (40-60Mbps), so should not be a connection speed issue. I will uninstall and reinstall later today to see if that makes a difference...

I'm getting frustrated with the 'Recent' tab, which didn't have tany of my recent items on it :frown: . One thing I like with the app (both older and current) is the multi-add function, which picks up items from any lists, including search, which isn't as accessible on the web version.
-
Agreed, also would like 'frequent' tab returned as in the previous version. For multi-add seems to work well. As others, a bit disappointed that recent is not recent, hopefully will alter with time and use.

And for me, HTC Desire C

I didn't lose any weight at all whilst I had the Mirena coil in, despite dieting and doing MFP alongside increased exercise, but did lose inches and tone up a lot. Since having it removed, I have lost 11lb in 5 months, so it is still slow for me (although I'm not eating at a huge deficit form maintenance as I am less…

I agree with a number of posters who have suggested communication issues - especially as it has been rumbling along for 2 months, and you feel more able to post on here than sort it out with your hubby. A lot of the posts are encouraging you to think negatively about your husband, which is neither good for your marriage…
