I'm 54 and have been working out since I was 19 years old. I'm proud to say that I pretty much kicked *kitten* until I hit the big 50!! These last few years I've noticed that my body can't take high impact workouts or super long workouts. And all those tips that I totally ignored when I was younger - drink water, warmup,…

I log it as low impact aerobics

Continued weight loss and a mix of cardio and strength training will help. Crunches (although I love doing ab work!!) are too much of an isolation exercise. You'll get better overall results if you lift weights that challenge you, do compound moves (google), get some cardio in, stay within your calorie goal.

No. Just no.

I admire your dedication BUT life is too short to get all hung up with diet and exercise while vacationing!!!!! Go..enjoy a couple of days, eat things that make you happy, plan fun activities, walk, dance, eat ice cream. Come home...and start killing it in the gym!

This post has Troll all over it!!

The calorie goal number MFP give you already has a sufficient deficit and is calculated with the intent that you SHOULD eat back your exercise calories. You've earned them, eat them!

Period weight gain. AND............ I browsed at your diary and it's full of sugary treats, fatty foods and whole milk........there's lot's of room for improvement.
-
At your height @145 lbs is a healthy weight. Your body knows this so it's going to be really hard to lose those last few pounds. Your diary is not open so it's hard to give you advise on your diet. A few things - you can work out until you keel over but if your diet is poor you won't get the results you want. "Abs are made…

Also since you at are your goal weight you're going to need more calories, lot's of protein and heavier weights!!

Squats, lunges, pushups, planks, body weight exercises (google there is some crazy challenging stuff out there). Also the book 'new rules of lifting for women' is great. Jillian Michaels DVD's. Her yoga meltdown workout is free on youtube, it's a good work out!

I disagree. There is NO WAY to cleanse your Gallbladder through a special diet. Don't believe all you read on the internet. I'm sorry your surgery was not a success. Occasionally..as with all medical procedures there as exceptions to the rule. I wish you good health in the future. OP - see another Doctor!! Don't listen to…
-
Time to find a new Doctor. As someone who has suffered...and I mean suffered with Gallbladder attacks on and off all of my life I know that you're always one meal away from your next attack. AND...controlling your diet will not prevent attacks...it's not that simple. I had mine out 3 years ago laparoscopically. No…

Calorie deficit for weight loss Cardio AND strength for fitness Weight loss isn't linear - some weeks you will lose more than others, that's just the way it is

LOL

For me - eating afterwards works best. I work out in the evening as soon as I get home from work. I'll have a light snack around 3pm, work out at 7pm- ish and have dinner afterwards.

Weekends are tough, I know from experience! There is just no easy way around it. You have to cut back if you want to lose those extra pounds. In general, I try to stay with in my calorie deficit goal Monday through Saturday. Sundays are my 'fun food day'. I eat whatever I want, but still log it, and I stay within my…

Thanks!!!

Honestly....the best way to lose weight and maintain it is to avoid "diets". Eat a healthy variety of foods, stay in the calorie goal that MFP has given you, get some exercise...it's the best and most successful way to reach your goal:flowerforyou:

MFP's sugar settings are ridiculously low!!! Ignore....especially since the sugar is coming from a healthy source!!

If the key to losing weight was a couple of cups of green tea everyday there would be a lot less fat people walking around. Green tea = tasty, nice for hydration, some minimal health benefits BUT it's not a miracle drink. Don't look for quick fixes and short cuts, they don't exist. Hard work, dedication, calorie deficit…

I stay away from all carbs, fats and proteins..................

"We have gotten into arguments about her hair, and I have thrown her hair-bands away (that was wrong) so she wouldn't hide her hair". Yea.....you lost me at this part. Jesus!!.. let the woman have a relaxed dressed down day once in awhile and quit over analyzing it.

The list of food and drink do's and don't is a mile long and ever-changing. If I listened every time someone struck fear into our hearts over a certain food item I'd be living on bread and distilled water (oh wait bread is the devil too).
-
It seems to me that the people most likely to quit are the ones that make big huge drastic changes at the beginning of their 'diet' (eliminating food groups and exercising like a maniac ect)...then they find it hard to sustain those changes for a long period of time and wind up crashing and burning. That being said -…

OMG. They need to add a 'rolling my eyes' emoticon. :noway: ......this one is close enough.

Honestly....I find them not as effective as weights. You'd get more bang for your buck investing in some dumbbells and kettle bells. :flowerforyou:

If you want to do weights...go for it!! Exercise is never a waste of time.
