  • Honesty...a hot Bikram class was not a good starting point. It's more for an experienced yogi not a first timer. I would try again with a beginners yoga class....NO HEAT INVOLVED. Here's the thing about yoga....it's a very individual practice...not a competition. In a beginners class they'll focus on that and ease you into…
  • I'll jump on the gross band wagon too - I shower and wash my hair every morning before work. I workout in the evening....and just let my hair dry naturally... sweat and all :blushing:
  • On my 'cheat days' I usually like to stick in my maintenance calorie range 1800-2000. I don't like to refer to them as 'cheat days' though lol.............they're spike days or fun food days
  • ....I'm gonna go in the opposite direction here and I'm sure to raise a few eyebrows. Not everyone was born to run. It's not the end all be all of exercise. There's no shame if you'd rather be doing another form of exercise. I'd love to be able to announce to the world that I can run a 10k ......but I've done some time on…
  • Your diary is closed so I'm just guessing - Maybe you're being too strict. If you limit yourself to only 'diet' foods you'll burn out quickly. Practice moderation, portion size, and VARIETY. If eating McDonalds once a week makes you happy...do it and do it guilt free! Just log everything and adjust your other meals so the…
  • ^^^This! At this point, this is what you need to do to see changes in your body....not weight loss. Your goal weight is unrealistic and quite frankly unhealthy. Don't be another brainwashed young girl who think she needs to be a size 0 to be attractive. Think healthy and strong, love who you are now!
  • I'm completely hooked on Sherlock and OBSESSED with Benedict Cumberbatch
  • Is that a current picture of you in your profile pic? You look healthy and fit.
  • LOL....sounds like a crock of **** to me! And even if some small portion of it was true - I don't exercise to lose weight, I exercise because - I like to It makes me feel good It's great for heart, lungs, muscles, bones, posture, blood pressure...the health benefits are many! gives you confidence it challenges me it give…
  • I can tell you from experience - it's the 'all or nothing' attitude which sets a lot of us up to fail. Example - they are donuts in the break room and you have one for breakfast - suddenly the whole day feels like it's been derailed and you're a failure. You say screw it and pig out the rest of the day, hell maybe even the…
  • I think everyone can agree weekends by far are the biggest challenge! If you over indulge too much you'll spend the entire week playing catch up and ultimately wind up in a vicious cycle of gaining and losing those same few pounds. Been there, done that. I learned that I need to apply limits to the weekend too: 1 - I log…
  • You're doing a LOT of cardio and 30DS is a awesome sweaty workout but it too is cardio. Maybe try some serious strength training like 'the new rules of lifting for women'. Lift heavy weights that challenge you, compound moves. Or get into body weight training or a power yoga class. Make sure you're getting enough protein…
  • YES! Weigh in once a week, same day, same time. Don't allow the scale to dictate to you how you should feel about your body!
  • I'm just going to reiterate what everyone else has said. 1000 a day is not a healthy way to lose weight. it's a starvation diet. Ask yourself if you want to get healthy and fit for life or starve yourself for a few months, wear yourself down and eventually gain it back because it's not a sustainable way of life. Make this…
  • 'Binging' on ANYTHING is a bad habit to get into but it occasionally happens to the best of us. If it isn't a rare occurrence as you stated above you may have to address the fact that you may have a problem or even have the beginning of a disorder. As far as the food going 'straight to your fat cells'.......NO. You ate too…
  • Full on nerd here! Doctor Who, Sherlock, Being Human, Merlin, Star Trek (original, next gen, movies), Star Wars, Harry Potter, Futurama, Mythbusters, NCIS (Abbey is my girl crush), I love SciFi, fantasy, paranormal, I love to read and nothing says NERD more than going to the Rennaissance Faire to get your wench on!!! Live…
  • ^^ I believe this impacts us to a degree (like a few pounds here and there, bloating). BUT stress alone does not make people obese. Bad eating habits from stress does or lack of motivation to workout due to stress does or just plain over eating. We all want to think our weight issues are due to something medical beyond our…
  • When I see these types of posts with a specific weight loss number and a hard target date, I always think - A) Do you want to lose weight AND keep it off?? B) Or are you just interested in a crash diet for one specific event in your life. If your answer is (A)...you need to stop thinking 'diet' and start thinking lifestyle…
  • Sadly at 54 I'm still getting 'that time of the month'...will this ever end?? Anyway....I don't change anything in my routine, if anything I try to work out harder! And i NEVER weigh myself during that time, I know I've gained weight and it's just temporary, why torture myself!
  • Browsed at your profile.....lot's of scary skinny going on there. You should probably eat your exercise calories back.
  • ^^^^Agree!!
  • My boyfriend is 12 years younger than me. We've been in a happy committed relationship for almost 5 years now. It's been the best relationship of my life!
  • You should do both! Do workouts you enjoy! My general rule for length of workout time - no less than 30 minutes and no more than 60 minutes. :flowerforyou:
  • Oooops you spoke too soon. It appears you've been brainwashed :noway:
  • Agree!!!!!!! I try to follow the 80/20 rule.....80% healthy 20% fun foods and of course keep the calories so they fit into my goal. I love food, I love treats, I love wine, I love bread, I love bacon, I love chocolate......there a time and place for everything, just keep it in moderation!
  • Lol...Fiber One bars do horrible things to my digestive system
  • What usually helps me is to make a cup of tea or coffee or I have a diet soda. :drinker:
  • I typically eat dinner between 8pm and 9pm. It's never had a negative effect on me. I say do what feels comfortable to you!
