I plan to try this weekend..thanks for the recipe :)

MFP had me at 1250 which made me miserable. I put myself at 1400 and am much happier. I work out 5 to 6 times weekly for 40 to 55 minutes.

I can do 50 solid minutes of cardio! My energy has increased and my shortness of breath seems to have disappeared..
-
I am 4'11 and found 1200 undoable. I upped myself to 1400, work out 5 to 6x weekly and eat back at least half my calories. I am in a much happier place.

I love my YMCA. Our entire family belongs. We have a pool, child care and many fitness class offerings. The membership feels a bit pricey but you can apply for financial assistance.

I "knew" I was overweight..I was ok with that, could hide it under baggy shirts. Being tossed off a ride at Hershey Park because the bar would not close over my stomach brought home to me that I was FAT. I have never felt such shame..

I have been doing 7 days of cardio a week. I think I am going to cut down to 5 or 6. I do feel very tired, but they may be a problem with my calories as MFP has me at 1250.

Oh my, that must have been very difficult :( I have very few friend's here, so I treasure the one's I do have. You have to do what you have to do for your own mental health.

Cadbury mini eggs..I make my husband hide them and then spend hours hunting for them.

Joanne, I am sending huge cyber hugs your way. I am so very sorry for your losses. The big sharp pain of grief goes away, doesn't it? It's just the small ache that catches you by surprise sometimes..like crying just a bit in CVS when I caught a whiff of Old Spice and thought right away of my father..

Random things floating through my sleep deprived mind 1) Missing my Dad. Still can't get over his death 13 years later. How is it possible I have a child he will never know or a husband he will never meet? 2) My boy kitty adores me..fact 3) I hate being poor 4) I don't always love my family in a happy Stepford wife way. At…

Honey, in order to care for other's we must take care of ourselves. Perhaps let her know how proud you are she is ready to take steps towards fitness and than explain your established routine. Is it possible to find some time to help her get in her work out groove? I bet she is really inspired by your success :)

Damn straight! We can and will DO this!!

Woot! Get thee to the gym, young lady..and keep going!

I nearly cried after reading your responses..you all are so amazing, loving and supportive!

I belong to our local YMCA . I try to go 6 to 7 days a week. 40 to 50 mins of cardio everyday, 15 minutes of strength training on the machines. I took the advice of people here and have just started to 'lift heavy'. I love working out..but have noticed increase in my appetite..

It's the cats, who all line up on the bureau, I feel judged..

My mother's spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, salad with croutons and full fat ranch dressing..followed by Dutch apple pie

Ok, this is seriously down the line but I really would like to hike the John Muir Trail. In the mean time, I would like to have someone call 'family picture time' without making off for the bathroom. I really really hate to see myself in all my hulking ( at 4'11 no less) glory.. I would like to ride on a amusement park…

Well done you! You were over 400lbs, you are not now! Everything in baby steps..perhaps take your weight loss in 10lbs chunks. You are on your way to success, how very exciting :)

Interesting, I'm on another forum that speaks about 'bum sex Friday's'...this subject seems a bit intense for boring old Monday..

You are an inspiration to me! Making choices to get healthy can be so difficult..

Indeed, I am scale shy! I try to stay motivated by non scale victories like looser fitting clothes and smaller waist measurements. As a matter of fact, I have relegated my scale to to the under side of my bed where the monsters live..

This show is sad making, so voyeuristic. I just can't be entertained watching someone's pain.

I will remain forever grateful for the friend who recommended MFP to me. I have tried WW online and just never felt the connection. Mad love for MFP..
