I hope you are able to keep your staff and customers safe, and the dogs too, since they can catch it. https://kitchener.ctvnews.ca/a-little-legacy-this-dog-was-the-first-in-canada-to-test-positive-for-covid-19-1.5163199

AWESOME salad @Nony_Mouse! What did you use for the dressing? I love halloumi - reminds me of Canadian 'squeeky cheese curds.'

I hope everyone is staying warm & safe. My niece just got married this past weekend, just in time (she had 25 people for their outdoor wedding) as now the Covid protocol is no more than 6 persons in a group (your 'bubble'). We are into the second wave now and cases and hospitalizations have gone up quite a bit so group…

Do you have windproof pants, @sufferlandrian? It's been pretty chilly here too now. Snow on the tops of the hills around us, friends in the higher elevations around town had some fall while we had cold rain down in the valley. Good thing my local tire shop sends me a reminder text to make my tire changeover appointment.…

Ugh! IT bands and R piriformis have always been tough for me even though I've been an exercise specialist and a physio rehab assistant for decades. I can't even use a roller for my IT bands -too painful.

I went to acupuncture yesterday afternoon to help release my really tight muscles that refuse to loosen when stretched. Also my TMJoint in jaw is killing me so we worked on that. Tonight I felt like I'd run a marathon and swam the Channel.

beets3 since you do IF you might want to watch these interviews with Megan Ramos from IDM (Dr Fung) part 1 = https://youtube.com/watch?v=1gV3K_QX6y8&feature=youtu.be then part 2 which deals more with aftereffects of weight loss (loose skin) and autophagy to help solve that:…

I think the wedding will come off OK @darleenturner, as here in BC our active cases are dropping and in the area we live in everyone is being quite good (so far) at complying with masking and distancing recommendations. As to getting the weight off in time, that may be a different matter. I am trialing a THC/CBD gummy at…

Nothing freezing happening here yet. Lowest it's been is 5C but we've been having unseasonably warm and dry temps these days 23-25C. Ground fog early in the AM when I get off work. I have to squeegee off my vehicle windows so I see on my way home. Takes too long to defog on the outside electronically.

Hi @darleenturner, you are welcome to friend me. My niece is getting married in just over 3 weeks, but of course due to Covid-19 it's going to be tiny (25) and outdoors. I've gained a bit of covid weight :s so I'd like to smarten up, get back to my proper eating style, and lose some before the wedding. I tend to use food…

Hi @darleenturner! You are welcome to friend me, you'll notice that as a group we FM'ers are fairly quiet....I think because lots of pain & fatigue, along with brain fog means we may not log on to chat that often.

Either way....they shouldn't be showing up at all.

Thanks for reminding me about this...now I have to hunt up some boron. BTW, I miss @KnitOrMiss . I hope she is well.

I can't remember which study it was but it mentioned that calcium and magnesium attach to the same receptors in the cells so they can compete with each other. Maybe why the decades of concentration on calcium supplements and focus on 'dairy for your bones' could exacerbate magnesium deficiency. I'm just on my phone at work…

If they want to beta test with us low carbers we should have free access. >:)

Finally downloaded some of the eagle release pictures from my phone. I have to edit the video clip yet as it is quite shaky (she moves so fast) and too long with her as a spot in the distance once she flew off. That will come later, when I have nothing better to do (lol.) The couple who brought her back home from the…

Hey all! Hope your Sept. has been breezing along. Lots of smoke in our area (the air quality index has been at 10+ for a couple weeks) thanks to the drift from south of our Western Canada/US border. So technically I am 'exercising' while on night patrol with a full-on N95 Particulate mask (a bit different from reg. N95's.)…

I can't seem to edit today - rinse the konjac rice first before use because it stinks.
-
Miracle rice is a konjac starch product that can simulate rice without all the carbs and calories. If you use it rinse it very well in a sieve because the liquid it's in stinks. (I have Celiac disease and eat low carb - I use the noodles too) Here's a link for more info: https://miraclenoodle.com/products/miracle-rice

Magnesium bar soap sounds interesting.... would the magnesium stay on your skin long enough for proper absorption? Usually the liquid magnesium-oil-gel suggests leaving it on for a few minutes and only then wiping with a damp cloth to get rid of the salt sticky feeling (if that bugs you.)

I hope everyone is doing OK on the Western side of the continent. I have had to wear a particulates mask at work the past several nights so I can breathe properly. Ugh....getting kinda tired of masks.....

(thanks @weatherking2019 ) :D

Here's some newer research for you vis a vis Vit D and covid 19: I get emails from Chris Masterjohn PhD (for @TheDevastator and @GaleHawkins) https://chrismasterjohnphd.com/

MmmmMmm, it's the Peaches & Cream corn that's really caught my eye. It's fresh in season here and I'm trying to avoid it if possible because I will make a whole meal out of peaches & cream corn on the cob with lots of butter, salt, and lemon pepper.

I get the usual sort of pimply breakout, around my mouth and jaw edge no matter what product it is (hair or makeup) as well as the usual celiac problems (gut, joint pain, asthma, etc.) Be careful too, as you can be allergic to pure plant oils as well. Remember the plant usually produces these compounds to protect itself…

Lately I've been eating the carbwise buns from UnBun and another brand I can't remember that is similar. Quite pricey, 4 burger size buns for $10. But if I am craving a real burger and not a lettuce wrap, or want a real toasted tunafish with lime pickle, I can have my sandwich and eat it too. I only have 1 or 2 a week so…

New meta-analysis (Aug 17/20) shows an increased risk of small bowel cancer in celiacs. Not really news, just a look at 40+ studies and the results are not a huge difference between 'normal' cohort and celiacs, but enough for health providers to be aware of so they can catch any problems early.
