Tests for celiac disease will often come back negative if you have been gluten free for a while, it doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have it. And knowing how much like crap we feel and how much damage we do if we eat gluten, the only reason I could see to gluten-up for a test was if you have some medical coverage if…

Sorry @ccrdragon I couldn't help but laugh at the autocorrect - your dog getting tutored, good thing you put 'snipped' in parentheses.

I know I made the right choice to go FMLA and help support her IEP. @weatherking2019 what do the acronyms mean? (from Canada here)

Our (fairly) local one is now under control, the 3700 evac alerts and orders have been rescinded. Only 1 house burnt, no one injured.
-
@elize7, I just want to say it is good to see you back. We've both been around here for quite a while and I know you have your health difficulties. You go, girl!
-
Probably only if you are supplementing with the cheap magnesium oxide. I take 800 mg a day Mag bisglyconate and have no issues.

Careful with the tons of water....not sure what sort of amount that might mean, but it is possible to be drinking too much and losing your electrolytes quicker than you are topping them up. You might want to review this pinned thread at the top of the notice board for help with levels of minerals needed while LC/Keto:…

Welcome! @karlinab1807. You'll probably be posting while we are asleep, lol. Time zone stuff. I'm in Security/Policing, sufferlandrian is a vet, and there are others in health care, hotel hospitality, and other occupations too. Things have been a bit quiet lately here, but us regulars carry on.

Great news, the eagle that I helped rescue about a month ago is going to be brought back home to be released on Saturday late afternoon/early evening. We aren't too sure yet of the time because she has to be driven from the raptor rescue https://owlrehab.org/ 600 km away. I just got a phone call today - that she is ready…
-
@sufferlandrian, you need to market that on a t-shirt, lol.

@Cerizez, I too have Celiac Disease. You might want to check out the MFP Gluten Free group: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/112-gluten-free Also there is a great FB page from Gluten Free Watchdog LLC. https://www.facebook.com/Gluten-Free-Watchdog-LLC-258784214186574/ Here's the organization's website:…

I hope your 'equipment/supply' hunt is going well. Sooner or later things will settle into the spot they are meant for, lol. Still crazy busy, I actually missed an appointment this morning - it totally went out of my head, with all the work stuff I wasn't even awake at the time I needed to be there. We are headed to Banff…

Sometimes sleep is the very best thing to do... This past couple days have been crazy. I worked my patrol shift, then had to wait around to get my crown put on at 7:30 this morning, then home to bed for 4 hours, then up again to take dad to the audiologist, then home to read for an hour while eating cheese and taco chips,…

@lucerne2, please don't blame yourself for the awful thing that happened to you, none of it was your fault. I would suggest counseling as soon as possible. I was criminally attacked in the course of my job, and it does help with working through the trauma and anger. Meanwhile, we got your back! You can refocus your…

Yes, salmon is local to our area too, and lots of yummy fishies in the grocery and fishmonger...

A couple of young guys just drowned in our local lakes. One was right off the busy public beach, the other was cliff jumping in the big lake just south of us. Both visitors/tourists to our area. Sad. Only one body recovered so far.

Yesss, frozen shoulder sux big time! I am helping my hubby work on his since he's been in a sling for a while with arm surgery. Now we're in the phun-physio part, lol.

Back to concentrating on no crazy snacking while I am on patrol (graveyard shift 20:45-05:15) I will stick to a protein drink for 'breakfast' at 15:30 or 1600, then a low carb, high protein dinner a couple of hours later with hubby, and my snack of protein & healthy fats between 23:00-24:00. That should work fine as long…

@Antiopelle, if you can't dive, at least can you swim (lake, river, ocean, pool??) When I was a physio rehab professional we did a lot of rehab in the water, depending on where you live, you might have access to water of some kind, no?

@cosafe1, that looks like an interesting side dish. I bet it was delicious.

Phoned a couple of friends and met at a parking lot live band bluegrass event - 5 young guys playing the usual 2 guitars, mandolin, banjo, and bass. They were quite young - maybe late teens - but pretty talented although they needed to perfect their stage presence and connect better with the audience. That will come with…

Does the other vet do S&R with a dog, or just happens to be a member of Search/Rescue who is also a vet? Yes, @sufferlandrian I certainly agree with the "Please leave my town, tourists!" feeling. I guess I can't whine too much though as my family were the tourists who came every summer since I was 5. Didn't move here until…
-
@_vicky2291, hang in there, I too am having issues... up & down the same three pounds repeatedly (and definitely above my happy maintenance weight.) Just think of it as one meal at a time. Even if you stick to your plan for most of the day and then have a 'moment,' it's still a win. We need to treat ourselves like we treat…

You are going into a new building?? That's exciting! I hope it's a good move for you and your pet patients. More room, better layout, better location in your town? Sheesh, it's been stinkin' hot here this past week... in the high 30's - up to 37C and blue sky sunny. I'd like to go to the beach but everyone else and the…

@melmerritt33 another friend of mine is doing a full carnivore diet to see if it helps her myriad health issues and so far it's been awesome for her. I suppose it's sort of the ultimate autoimmune protocol. I'm all for whatever it takes to feel better, especially if it can be done without adding in more drugs. Who knows,…

Hi all, finally a new update and article from Medscape on Celiac Disease July 29/2020. Tofacitinib Triggers Celiac Disease Remission in a Gluten-Eating Patient SOURCE: https://bit.ly/2CRJxeM Annals of Internal Medicine, online July 27, 2020.

Easy way to do it is to skip your least fave mealtime and just add those calories to the meal you want to eat out at.

Ugh, two nights ago it was a huge bag of Cheezies. The real ones that are just corn and cheese, not puffy, but crunchy. Turns out I ate over 1000 calories in the course of my patrol. YIKES! Delicious, but.... :s

@my4570 you should definitely aim to increase your protein. https://verywellfit.com/protein-recommendations-for-exercise-1229792

Looking back through my Medscape emails, seems I missed posting this one when it came in. It figures, considering the title and contents. Very apt. https://medscape.com/viewarticle/904827?src=wnl_edit_tpal&uac=93466FZ&impID=1799911&faf=1
