  • Just bumping to keep this thread in view....unfortunately there is nothing new in the FM field as all eyes are on Covid-19/SARS-CoV-2 these days.
  • @melmerritt33 did the probiotics have gluten in them as filler, by any chance? Or possibly other allergens like dairy? I know I have to get the pharmacist to phone the manufacturers of the supplements I take to be certain they don't have any dairy or gluten in them as that will set off my FM (and celiac) gut issues. Just a…
  • Since I have Celiac Disease, I've been pretty close to Keto for many years now. Most of the time I am low carb/healthy fats (approx 75-100g/carb/day. Some days I am Keto (below 50g), and some odd days I fast. Almost always 16:8 (2 meals/day). I know quite a few people who do very well on Keto, but they are doing it the…
  • Darn, I was hoping for tiny keto gnocchi, lol.
  • Nothing like 'auto-correct' lol.
  • Hubby went into the hospital orthopedic clinic today for his arm checkup, and the news is good, bones are healing up very well - now it's time to work on the hand and wrist ROM and strength. It looks a bit funny now that the partial cradle cast is off and it is only well wrapped with tensors for support. His arm is as…
  • My favorite work/exercise doing security at music festivals has been cancelled this year due to Covid-19, and although there are online festivals, it just isn't the same dancing in your living room as it is out in the grass, under the stars, on a warm summer night with thousands of others. I'm in a fair bit of pain right…
  • Milk hypothyroid?? Do you mean a flare-up of Hashimoto's disease due to inflammation from dairy products? Most people with celiac disease are sensitive to dairy anyhow. Sometimes if you have your diet under tight control for a long period of time and your CD symptoms have calmed down, you can tolerate a bit of dairy.
  • You go, girl! I find this 70+ lady very inspirational - She was featured in Shape magazine near the end of last year. https://shape.com/lifestyle/mind-and-body/joan-macdonald-73-year-old-fitness-fanatic
  • Sounds like you just need a new employer, instead of the dangerous slave-driver you have now. (wink of irony accompanied by light sarcasm, but not aimed specifically at you.... ;) )
  • @psuLemon are those garbanzos, macadamias or tiny gnocchi? Your coleslaw looks delish.
  • Lol, another rabbit hole
  • What kind of thyroid issues hypo or hyper?
  • As above Niki_Fitz stated, your body can only rebuild during rest periods, without that it just breaks down, and then none of the 'normal' processes seem to work well. More exercise/less food is not always the answer (and I was a Fitness Professional -registered- and a Physio Rehab Assistant.)
  • I maintained my weight for several years after logging to lose 35 lbs, but find it's a slippery slope - not that I'm eating the wrong foods for me, just too much/too often, so I've had a slow creep up the past year or so. I'm not logging (still) but I am being more mindful of my portion sizes and frequency of…
  • https://jeccr.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13046-018-0731-5 Grrrr, edit button was not working properly for me to add this to my last post. ** not suggesting one should take this course, but interesting info to weigh out if you are into biohacking longevity
  • @psuLemon, I know some docs are looking at Metformin and mTor inhibition for increased lifespan. Not in relation to lowering blood sugar though. Metformin acts on AMPK and mTOR and mTOR pathway inhibitors Can't remember if it's Chris Masterjohn or Peter Attia that I'm mainly thinking of. It was a big blog or podcast I…
  • I think that's a first for frog's legs here, looks yum. And would certainly add variety to carnivore plans.
  • Hey, @Vladaar I wouldn't mind being an accountability friend, I'm in a very similar position....LCHF for almost 7 years, but lately with family health stresses and Covid-19 World stresses I've gained 25 lbs over my maintenance weight. I'm having a lot of trouble getting back to it seriously. I start every day fine, but I…
  • That's too bad, I'm sure he was someone's pet for a very long time, and that's hard for everyone including the 'doc.'
  • I'm pretty sure you've miscalculated.... I'm Canadian and there are just over 15 &1/2 cups of water in 3.7 litres. That's an awful lot of water.....

  • I hope it was just bruising!
  • Yeah, no kidding....maybe we are the last night shifters left alive on this planet :o . Or everyone else is in health care and just too freakin' busy with ventilators to be on their phones/tablet, etc. And nobody involved in policing wants to admit it ;)
  • Yep, really.... she did not quite understand that just because someone else uses a puffer, it might not be the same drug, or appropriate medication for the other person's condition. Scary. At least she was much better today, not as focused on this 'situation.' More like her normal self.
  • Garden goodies, a mess of beet greens from thinning a friend's garden (only a small part of a large brown grocery bag full) that I cooked up with paneer and lemon and spices for a delicious Indian dish. And beautiful fragrant peonies for our dining room table. It was a lovely Friday night. Oh yeah, and our wine club…
  • @psuLemon what's the slab on the right that's spiced with something?
  • Happy first day of Summer! It's been 27C here the past couple days.
  • Most awesome pictures! You put a smile on my face today with those. I've been having a very difficult week. My MIL is refusing to take her puffers (preventative for asthma, which she is adamant she doesn't have), is obsessing about the $100 price tag for the new prescription (when she has over $6500 in her chequing account…
  • It's always lovely when they look like a spanky, shiny new present!
  • Lots of us are still around although I haven't posted on this thread for a bit. Covid 19 and other family health issues have bitten into my exercise time and initiative. I just feel exhausted and sore these days, too much work taking care of loved ones in more fragile health than me. I have at least kept up my stretching,…
