I'm just as baffled as you! I've tried eating intuitively, but it just doesn't come naturally to me. We are all born with a natural intuition as to what to eat for our bodies, but in this day and age society shows us differently. I think counting calories is a pain in the butt sometimes, but I have no other option!

There's always padded underwear. :) And squats, lunges, donkey kicks, etc. No matter what my mother does, she never has a butt either. When she's thin, she needs to wear padded underwear so it doesn't hurt when she sits. Just throwing it out there. I don't have much of a butt either, but I'm trying!

Peanut Butter Cups. They're in my fridge calling my name. But I just had an amazing salad...so maybe another time. :(

I usually end up taking them off because they slide all around once I start sweating like a beast. And then I'm blindly going through the rest of my workout.

I can totally relate. What helps me is making sure I stay hyrdated, active and eat enough throughout the day. I noticed your calorie goal was only 1200, which for most people can be a little too low. I don't know your weight, height or activity level, but even if you up your calories to 1300 or 1400 it might help you in…

I didn't have a C-section, but even so it took my abdominal muscles a ton of time to get somewhat back to normal. I aided by doing light crunches, side crunches and leg lifts. At first, it was nearly impossible, but over time my core got stronger. You don't really have to do a lot since you don't want to hurt…

I'm a mom. That keeps me pretty active! My daughter just learned how to walk without holding onto things, so she's sneaky! And of course trashes the house right behind me as I clean. Its finally warming up here, so we're always outside, too!

Hello! I'm 22 and also a stay at home mommy. I would love to try for another baby by the end of the year, but I need to lose the weight first! I lost 50 pounds before my first pregnancy, so I know I can do it! I'm super active on here with my friends and on the forums. Definitely someone who is sticking around for the long…

When I was 12 (with my 13th birthday around the corner) my mother asked me if I would like a gym membership for my birthday. I said yes, and from then on out, it changed my life. Who knows how lazy I'd be if I hadn't built exercise into my lifestyle at a young age. Now, I no longer have a gym membership, but I workout at…

When I lost 50 pounds before I got pregnant, I stuck with 1200 calories for months. Then I hit a plateau that just wouldn't budge. My husband suggested that I up my calories and BOOM! I was out of the plateau. Now, I don't know WHY upping my calories to 1400 worked for me, but my body took to it very nicely. Now I'm back…

I'm shy and very self conscious around people I don't know...so when I see that a man is looking at me I automatically assume that he's looking at me because there's something grotesquely wrong with me and he just can't stop staring. Anxiety is such an asshat sometimes. But yes, I always notice.

Hello there! MFP can be a nice community if you surround yourself with the right people. :) I'm Amanda. I'm 22 years old, mother of 1 and looking to get down to 120 pounds. This isn't my first time losing the weight...I've lost 50 pounds in the past successfully. I got pregnant with my beautiful little girl, and of course…

Your weight can fluctuate quite a bit even just from day to day. Although it is AMAZING that you've lost weight, remember that if you see a big loss it can be one, or many things making it happen. You could have lost extra weight this month because your muscles retained less water since you weren't really exercising them,…

Hopefully a better answer comes around, just in case I'm wrong...but I think that every 10 pounds you lose, MFP will ask you if you want to readjust your calorie goal...but I'm not positive. If it doesn't, you can always go into your goal settings and update it while being guided by the site, or manually.

I see what you did there! :glasses: :blushing:

Also, my husband is 5'9 at 180, and because of his muscle mass he will never be where BMI says he should be (169) unless he's at the end of his cut cycle and getting ready to bulk.
-
BMI sucks. It doesn't take into account muscle mass and that right there can make a huge difference. There are people out there who, according to their BMI could be considered obese, when, in fact, they are bodybuilders-as an example. BMI is a good start, but you should also consider finding out your body fat percentage.…

It tells my husband he should be eating 1600 or something ridiculous like that...he's 5'9 and 180 pounds. I eat more than that and lose weight at 5'3! He has a FitBit, so after its all said and done, he loses weight like crazy eating about 2600...he's also HIGHLY active, though. You can always go into your goals and…

These people clearly aren't into lifting and being strong...whereas you are. A spark of jealousy on their part seems plausible. :)
-
They aren't too shabby depending on how you season them. I swear the seasoning makes or breaks them.

Know that even though its hard living with a bunch of people who enjoy whatever they'd like to (been there!)...its even harder to continue feeling miserable and unhealthy for years to come. I've gotten enough grief from others to know that their opinion on my eating habits don't matter one bit. And also, don't restrict…

You should visit New England. So many historical sights to see, with many things relatively close to one another. Boston is great in so many ways, whether you want to see and enjoy the historical sites, or experience the more artsy side. There's many museums, colleges, duck rides (they go on land and sea), ferry rides,…

For me, my goal weight is actually 5-10lbs lower than the weight I want to maintain, so that I give my body the room to even its self out once I'm at maintenance.

Once Upon a Time <3 Prince Charming, please! ;)

I agree! Well, said!

I always add up the calories for EVERYTHING I'm putting into my recipe, and divide the actual food by even amounts to get an idea...and yes, the recipe builder on here is heaven.

Drinking water, a cup or two of coffee and exercise all get those bowels moving pretty efficiently for me. o_O Prunes, too! My mother used to holler at me when I was a kid because I'd eat those things like candy.
