I've wondered this. I always take the lower number, because it would really suck to think I was burning the 800 calories MFP told me when I really only burnt the 157 the machine said. I'd like to get a HRM and really see what I'm burning.

I don't log anything that I've been doing my whole life. I got fat and stayed fat doing those things. They don't count in my book.

I have a very long way to go. But when the time approaches, I'm going to look into something cool that will help me maintain my goal. I'm thinking a Kayak or some other kind of non-motorized boat. Congrat on hitting goal, OP!

You got this! Search the Success Stories forum for Insanity results any time you need motivation to keep going!

When I started MFP last week, I switch to black coffee with a packet of Stevia. It seemed bitter at first, but now I am learning to love the straight up coffee taste. I wouldn't go back to using creamer now, even if for some reason I stopped logging calories. Flavored coffees could be perfect for you. Try Stevia!

dude you are RIPPED. congrats and thank you for the well worded post.

I am shooting for early September. 2 lbs a week, taking in to account that I will lose a lot more than that in my first week. Timeline goals are a nice way to motivate yourself. But it's most important to me to make sure I am doing it in a sustainable and healthy way. I wouldn't mind if it took all the way until the end of…

Congrats on your stamina! I would say it depends on what you're doing while you're there. But even if you're taking it pretty easy, 3 hours seems like too much. Your body agrees with me. You should listen to it!

AWESOME.

Beautiful. 45 pounds always shows, but on you it really made a big difference!! Congrats to you

The first two are 4-5 years ago at 300 lbs. Then last two are more recent, around 230-235lbs. Have recently joined MFP to lose the remaining 60+ lbs! Hope to revisit this thread after doing so.

February was key for me! I made the decision to lose the rest of this weight I carry around, after losing 70 lbs 5 years ago. Found MFP, and it's the greatest site on the net. Excited for my first logged weigh in on Tuesday. March goals are to stick to my 1400 calorie diet recommended by MFP every single day of the month.…

I've been doing it since I started MFP(3 days ago). The fluctuations kill me. I think it will help if I only do it once, right after waking up. Maybe weekly would be better... but I just got started and I'm too excited.

"I've finally realised that this is a mental challenge, not a physical one." Great quote. Love it. Really resonates with me right now.

I'm with ya... so much conflicting information on the internet. But at the end of the day, what makes the most sense is: Exercise of any length, in any increments, will help you make progress.

You now look like the kind of cop that no one will ever try to run from or fight with. So you've probably made your job safer as a result of your success! Ha. Looking great, dude.

Well there's the biggest difference. You look great in that bottom pic, and it's something you didn't even dare to wear before. That's awesome.
-
Wow. You look like you lost a couple of decades of age as well as a lot of weight. Fantastic.
-
When you said you still sometimes feel like things haven't changed much... just look at the bottom pic you posted. HUGE difference. Great job.
-
I am super impressed by this. You look very different for only 7 weeks of work. You really have something to be proud of here.

Before is 290lbs - my heaviest was 300. After is more current. 230 lbs. Joined today and will be working my way down to 170! Thanks for all of the motivation.
-
Thanks everyone! When you guys say low, do you think it's unhealthy? I don't want to be unhealthy in the opposite way I am now, so advice would be appreciated. As far as being able to do it: 5 years ago I was 300lbs. I stuck to a 1400 calorie diet for a year and got to where I am now(230). So I know it is something I can…

Excellent!!!! Very impressive.

Hilarious and inspiring. Great job, man.

46 pounds in 8 months is no joke! Don't discredit yourself at all, you're looking great!

That is so cool! Congrats. It's going to be so cool when you compare them side-by-side.
