• I've already re ordered the Salted Caramel three times, exclusively for making ice cream. The cookies n cream is really good too but if I had to choose based on flavor and volume... I would definitely pick the Salted Caramel ;)
• That's awesome!
• I only watched a few youtubers make it and none used any but that makes perfect sense. Pretty smart actually!
• It's definitely interesting haha Aww gotcha. I can tell some are confused between the fluff and the ice cream so hopefully this helps clear up the confusion.
• Definitely my Harvest Cheddar Sunchips. I've eaten 1-2 servings every single day over the past 3.5 years and I will never give them up! I always stock up when they are on sale at my local King Soopers, so I typically horde 6-8 bags of them in my pantry. My poor husband will go in there to find something and yell at me "all…
• Gah! Do let me know how the Thin Mint turns out! Once I run out of my mint choc chip pp I'm not going to reorder because although it taste amazing I don't get as much volume out of it. (and my inner fat girl wants as much as she can get) >:) And that red velvet sounds amazing too!
• haha I love your post. You made protein ice cream. Made in a blender or food processor and have witnessed the magic :D Fluff is the stuff that they are making with the mixers/beaters and there is no ice in it to my knowledge. It's like whipped carbonated air with a marshmallow texture? I don't know but I wasn't a fan of…
• So sorry your having such a rough time :'(
• A little trial and error, might need to blend it a little longer.. every blender might be a tad different? Also I get a little less volume if using casein powder, I only get about 4.5 cups when I do ON mint choc chip. Also I have to add a splash more almond milk with the casein powder to get it to blend properly. And ON…
• Page 12 of this thread, 2nd post from the top. It might take some trial and error depending on your blender. I actually had a really old crappy one that I replaced just for making ice cream. Make sure you are adding the protein powder last, after all the other ingredients are blended and all the ice is crushed up. Then add…
• That looks like Quest cookies n cream!
• @pielattes1 Yes I don't use the Xanthan gum. I posted pictures above of my ice cream. (post with the photo bomb :D ) I get plenty of volume and prefer the texture as well without it. If you already have some try it but you don't have to go out and buy it just for this.
• Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, Oreos, and any really good home made brownie! We go to an Amish bakery a couple times per year (thank goodness its quite a drive away) and all bets are off. The HUGE cinnamon rolls, the giant cookies, the M&M dream bars, the PIES.. omg <3
• Just whipped up a bowl in Quest cookies n cream. Per my blender about 6 cups when its done. Sorry the pics are so huge! Yup I ate it all and I'm full <3
• Love the photo! oh yeah I can't have a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch in the house.. its just not an option :( The Kamut Puffs are really good! They are one of my favorite high volume for low cal cereals. I really want to try those chocolate Koala Crisps too.
• Oh man that sounds awful! Hey we never know until we try :D
• I would not have high expectations for freezing it. It's basically a protein shake made into ice cream. The syrup gives it a nice creamy consistency, but if frozen I don't know what would happen :#
• ON Birthday cake would probably be pretty good! I would be tempted to top that bad boy with sprinkles >:)
• It will set up fine if you use 1 cup of almond milk vs 2 cups like the directions say. I went through a fat free sugar free jello box pudding mix phase and made it everyday for awhile. Oh and whisk very very well ;)
• Aww you are so welcome! I just wish I discovered it sooner, its a game changer for me. And as much of a pain as it is to clean the blender.. worth it!
• haha true! Volume wise it fills my 1.5 quart mixing bowl almost to the very top, you will get more volume by adding the xanthan gum though ;)
• @bbell1985 The texture of that fluff is completely different, its definitely nothing like ice cream. And yeah by using so much ice and less liquid you get ice cream instead of a shake.
• I have no idea, never tried it without milk.
• You're welcome, and not if your a volume eater that's for sure!
• Oh and Cocoa Krispies, your brillant! Will have to try those too. Vanilla PB2 is also a worthy contender ;)
• That is so awesome, I will have to try the peanut butter! I did order samples from quest of the cookies n cream and the cinnamon crunch because I had never tried those before. I like Quests cookies n cream MUCH better than ON's version. I really didn't care for the cinnamon crunch at all so I'm glad I didn't buy a whole…
•
I've come to prefer protein ice cream. @ElvenToad shared how to make it in the protein cheesecake thread and I've been enjoying it ever since.
I wish I could high five you so hard right now B)
• @nowine4me here is the vid that taught me. The xantham gum is optional, I don't use it because I get tremendous volume without it and I think it gives it more of an ice cream texture without it too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqT4lOyxgR4 Eat it immediately, I do not freeze. If you think it makes way too much for you,…
• It was a whole bag of frozen strawberries, 60g of ON whey in vanilla, and 8oz almond milk. I didn't use any sweetener so that very well could be what went wrong but it was like eating whipped air.. the flavor/texture was so bad I just couldn't do it. And let me tell you after standing there for 10 minutes with the hand…
• I tried it, thought it was horrible.. straight into the trash. :#
