My favorite mfp quote that has guided me through 2 years here.. "If you never give up, then you can never fail." So very true!

mmm cake! haha will soon be fitting a slice into my day for my son's 5th birthday coming up :) Yes, I feel like I have my whole life in front of me still, I just wish I hadn't spent so many years using food as my best friend and hiding from the world. I feel I finally broke free of a lifetime of unhappiness. That is…

Thank you! Yes that is my goal, learning how to maintain and keep the weight off! I am 100% confident in my ability to do that with all that I have learned over the past two years. I have had bad days, and made mistakes but I never let them derail me and I think that is a huge key part of being successful

Thank you for all the kind words!

+1 I've been morbidly obese for 20+ years and I'm only 33 years old! I know exactly how it feels. Starting BMI was 46 and is now 24 with good old fashioned CICO. So screw what the "statistics show". You have the power to eat less food, you also have the power to make it a lifestyle change without having to permanently…

I had a ex boyfriend say that to me before, word for word. Years later when I ran into him again he initiated an apology to me (he remembered saying it) and told me he was high on cocaine at the time. Yeah! A real doozy! Obviously he was just trying to hurt me while we were together. And yeah words can hurt, but now I know…

Thank you both! Been at this for 23 months, one day and one pound at a time

These are my favorite threads! Here's mine. Started at 268 lbs in Feb 2014, and a size 22. Coming up on my two year anniversary of losing! Today I am 142 lbs, and a size 4. Finally made it to a healthy BMI so I am still celebrating that while working on my last 12-15 lbs to my goal weight  -126 lbs

268lbs to 142lbs so far. Calves were 18", now 12.5". Got boots for Christmas that are over the calves and wearing them everyday for the first time in my life :)

I generally do it with every 5lbs that I lose as well as update my progress pictures. It's usually every other month.

Thank you! Just getting control finally is so freeing, and to know that I was capable of doing it so much sooner I just didn't know how. I had an involved parent monitoring what I ate too. My mother was a single parent and once she realized what was going on (babysitter was a feeder) she tried so hard to stop my weight…

Here! I've been overweight/obese since I was a child. I've never been at a healthy weight, never worn clothing that wasn't plus sized. Even in middle school my mom had to make all my clothes because shopping was a nightmare. I am 33 years old now, and I knew it was time for change after a lifetime of horrid eating habits.…

It is definitely shocking to me. I've been at this weight loss thing for 22 months now (123 pounds down) and still have another 15lbs to go. To compare those before and now pictures is just such a shock, every single time I do it. It takes so long to lose weight that when you look in the mirror everyday it's difficult to…

Before I found mfp and I was clueless about nutrition and calories in vs out, I thought I would have no choice but to pay for WW. Thank goodness I never wasted my money, counting calories and counting points its the same thing. If you can do basic math, you can lose weight. It's really that simple, and the point system…

Wow! There are so many fantastic transformations in this thread, VERY inspiring

I started by logging my food for a couple weeks. Then when I got the hang of that I bought a food scale, and started weighing everything for accuracy. Then I bought a Fitbit and started to really understand the calories in vs out process. I read the forums everyday to try and learn as much about nutrition as I could and…

I've lost 121 lbs in the past 21 months. I remember the day I started and found mfp, reading through these success stories I was very motivated and inspired. I so badly wanted to be one myself! I am still working on the last 20 lbs. My progress:
