If you're breastfeeding you may need up to 500cal extra per day.

Well I highly doubt my battle is over, but I AM currently winning. I now turn to exercise. If I am upset I go walk hills or do a Turbo Jam DVD. Makes me feel better all around without the guilt after comforting myself with food.
-
*raising both hands* I had like 8 last night :) I did go out and burn the calories for them first though ;)
-
Turbo Jam does it for me, 1 hour of Turbo Jam is over 1000 sometimes at high intensity. Sometimes I'll do Turbo jam and a run, or some interval hills training.

I understand the process, and I think that maybe I have not been very clear or articulated very well and I apologize for that. I DO agree that too much of a deficit is bad. What I don't agree with from different things I have learned, is that 1000cals deficit max, is the magic number for everyone. I believe that people who…

263.4, Down 5.6 lbs this week!! Woah!!
-
I usually have one, sometimes more, treat per day. Like I eat healthy 80% of my cals, and unhealthy the other 20%. Sometimes, if I'm at my calorie limit, I will exercise to effectively "afford" a treat.

Agreed :)

I'm a Stevia fan too!

I'm sorry, maybe you are not aware. Food actually contains MORE than JUST calories. It contains nutrients like fiber, vitamins, minerals, protiens and so on. So while exercise used the calories you eat it does NOT ERASE the actual food you have eaten. You are still getting the benefits of all the other nutrients in the…

What you are doing is saying it like it's a fact for everyone (making a blanket statement). I'm simply saying everyone if different, and using myself as an example. While I agree what you are saying would be true for someone who has considerably less to lose than I, it's not always true for everyone. People just have to…

Love to! My name is Megan, 29 years old, two little ones 2, and 8mo old. I run a licenced childcare center from my home during the day. I can't wait to feel "normal" again :) I'm 5'9, and Currently 269, but hoping my weigh in tomorrow will bring that down a bit. By February 14th I would like to be 230, so 39lbs lighter…

Who are you to say what right for someone else is? Just because you don't agree with how someone else looses weight doesn't mean it's wrong. I've lost 90lbs before, so I know what works... For ME, and I also know that I won't be a "pile of mush". The closer I get, the more I'll eat. Also, for those wondering why it may be…

I see you're at 150, so what you are saying makes sense for YOU. Like I said the closer you are to goal the more you'll need to eat back exercise cals. Thats what I plan on doing eventually. But for me and some others, at 269, I got a LOT of energy reserves and I am not very likely to go into a starvation mode. Personally…
-
That makes NO sense. exercising does not erase what you ate. During weightloss the main function of eating is to provide you with nutrients like protien, vitamins and so on... The closer you are to your goal, the more exercise cals you *may* need to eat to prevent starvation mode, but for people with a lot to lose, it…

I call BS. I am in a deficit all the time, but through working out I am definately getting stronger. As long as you are getting the nutrients to repair your muscles from working out, you will gain muscle. Muscles grow from tearing and getting repaired with new protien essentially. So if you are working out and tearing your…

I usually try to keep it 300 cals per meal and 150-200 per snack... but it varies day to day. My typical breakfasts are a protien/green smoothy, and/or egg whites on low-cal toast with either spinach and feta or salsa... Sometimes I'll have oatmeal between 160-240cals

I can relate in both levels. I think part of it is I don't trust myself when I'm thinner and looking good. I guess because I grew up heavier, I never learned how to handle the attention. I definately notice a difference in how people treat me at different weights. When I was thinner, I got along with men really well, but…

I'm no nurse, but everyone has lymph nodes... They are part of your lymphatic system.

Sounds like a rough go for you for sure!! Congrats on your weight reduction and adopting a healthy lifestyle! You are doing great, and you look fabulous Mama!

I started at 287 and I'm not on week 6 and 269. You can repeat weeks if you aren't comfortable moving to the next level. I will however say that you'll be surprised how much you can accomplish when you push yourself :) There were many times I wanted to give up, but I kept saying to myself that if the biggest losers can do…

I either have a protien smoothy with fruit and spring mix 340cal (keeps me full until lunch) or 3 eggwhites scrambled or fried with 2 tbsp salsa and one slice of toast 150 cal but filling, sometimes I have both for 500 cal or I have a packaged oatmeal with pecans that's 160 cal, add the eggwhites and toast and its a big…

Well you are doing a great job! Keep it up!
-
How does it work? Do you eat your exercise cals, how much do you workout? You're doing amazing!
-
4 weeks ago it told me I would weigh 270.3. I am now 269.
-
269 today, -2lbs this week. I'm super happy with it because I had the WORST weekend food-wise... Back on track this week!
-
I use spring mix. My "Usual" is: 2 handfuls of spring mix 1/2 cup fat free greek yogurt or 1 container of low-cal yogurt 2 tbsp Ground Flax 1/2 cup blueberries 1/2 cup raspberries 1 scoop vanilla protien powder.

Be Honest. Own your past, and own what you have learned from it. I had issues before I met my husband. You will be facing challenges reguarding your baggage for a long time, so you want to know that the person you end up with knows the whole story so they can support you and trust you. Anyways, when I met him, after a few…
