  • Certainily is interesting - I reckon my figure is the very tall girl up to mid thigh then second from the left for the rest of the way!
  • I've had this with some Aldi products - I scanned their Cottage Cheese and it came up as Longley Farm! No problem as I like Longley farm stuff and the calorie info matched that on the pot!!

  • Watching replies with interest as I have the same problem - bum toning nicely, legs lookin good but the saddlebags? Eeuuggh! x
  • Thank you :-) x
  • Thanks Sooze - knee isn't bothering me at all but def slightly bigger! I know I should have paid attention to the hundreds of other posters asking this but.......how do I open my diary? x
  • Thanks guys - I have a high pain threshold and just wondered whether, if the knee doesn't hurt but is slightly swollen whether it's still best to rest? I went for a cross country run on Saturday (4.5 miles) and think I could have strained it slipping on the mud! As far as why Ive not had a result - no idea. I've tracked…
  • Tried to quote from the OP but couldn't :-( but wanted to say that the bit about YOU being in control of what YOU put in your mouth is so true and the recognition of this is what has kept me off chocolate sweets and crisps since the start of the year. I too used to say "I have no willpower" when really I didn't want to use…
  • Been there done that! My advice is a the end of the party, if some cake is left over GIVE IT AWAY!! I used to cut the leftovers up and freeze it but ended up scoffing them anyway just because they were there! Fortunately any birthday cakes these days get eaten by 3 teenagers quicker than I can blink so the problem has…
  • IMHO it would be worth a couple of sessions just to make sure you are on the right track. I'm considering it myself as I've been working my backside off for 3 months now (of course, that's in my opinion too!) and not lost any weight or inches. Rather than give up I'm thinking about getting some expert advice to try to…
  • Will be honest, I've read the first and last pages of this thread but my first thought in the original post was "that could be my husband talking". I have never had a positive self image and will always see the worst and am, at times, physically incapable of seeing the good. After nearly 20 years of marriage, my husband…
  • I am not medically trained in any way but the headache and dizziness would suggest a couple of things to me: 1. Dehydration - 80% of headaches are caused by dehydration. Are you drinking enough before and during your workout? 2. Ear infection - 3. Lack of food before working out - although I have never been affected by…
  • Also trying to up my protein- I now have a mid morning snack of 150g cottage cheese and a mid afternoon snack of 100g Greek yoghurt. Try to have tuna, egg or salmon for lunch with a salad. Not seeing any improvement yet but its great not to feel hungry mid morning!
  • June, this may make you feel better. I've just checked and I've been logging all my food and exercise since 22nd Jan, going over only a couple of times. I gave up chocolate, sweets, biscuits etc, cut out alcohol (except for this weekend just gone!), working out 5/6 days per week. I haven't lost an ounce. I'm trying upping…
  • It would be interesting to know if this can be done in the UK. After my experiences with my GP, it seems as though people in the USA have access to more and better testing services for everything! And don't get brushed off with "it's just your age". B x
  • Jat74, I will be watching this thread with interest as I'm in exactly the same boat!! Since 3rd Jan I've cut out so much rubbish - even just the chocolate and sweets I used to eat would have saved me over 3000 cals per week but I haven't seen even a pound go. I work out 5/6 days per week for 45-60 mins and they are…
  • GauchoMark - thank you for that link. The 1965 does appear to be high given my goals so Im resetting to 1680 - lets see what happens now!! Thank you for all your guidance :-) x
  • Gaucho Mark - That's allowing for workouts 3-5 days per week and I do a minimum of 5 x 45 minutes pretty intense (no HRM though) plus general running around at the weekend after children, shopping, rugby coaching etc. I do have a very sedentary job though/ Happy to reduce daily target as it seems WAY higher than I ever…
  • EEEEk - just changed my goals and my daily calorie intake now reads 1964!! it seems shockingly high but I'm willing to give it a go and see if the weight starts to come off over the next couple of weeks x
  • For some reason this has struck a chord with me and I've just calculated my TDEE (again!) . This less 20% is 1964 cals - currently I'm eating around 1500. Maybe why I've not lost any weight at all?? Doh - light bulb moment or what! (Sorry to all those who have said this over and over and over again - I did read it but it…
  • I'm pleased with my thighs until I get to the top - where the fat has collected and juts out enough to rest a small cup and saucer on! It's the bane of my life as it means however much I work on my legs and bum I can never look good in trousers or tight fitting skirts. Control pants don't help as they don't pull it in…
  • Meeshy, I'm already on my 2nd litre plus 2 cups of coffee and it's not working at all! I could kick myself for forgetting my protein snack,. x
  • Well done on taking control. That's the hardest bit over with! Good luck and remember there is lots of support on these boards. B x
  • I'm 5ft 9" currently low 170lbs aiming for 154lbs eventually but would be delighted to reach the 160s as i've been plugging away since early January and not lost ANYTHING! Plus side it's stopped going up! Back to your original question and the last time I was in the 130s I was about 14! You see some very skinny celebrities…
  • It's quite common I assume - this is based on the sound of 10 sets of knees creaking and cracking in our circuits class on Wednesday morning! As others have said so long as theres no pain then dont worry too much. I 've heard Glucosamine can be good for joints - better in liquid than pills if you can
  • I don't log my strength training - admittedly I'm still only on 'baby' weights so don't feel I''m burning too much on those days! B x
  • I too used to eat sandwiches every day but have switched to a mixed salad and chunk of protein - today it was fried salmon, yesterday tuna, tomorrow hard boiled eggs. Sometimes I'll have 50g of wholewheat pasta (dry weight), sometimes if I'm really starving I'll go out and buy a plain wholemeal bread roll. The only…
  • Are you playing in a mixed team?
  • Although I'm not being too successful on my weight loss journey, I made the decision at the start of January to clean up my eating. Starting with cutting out chocolate, biscuits, sweets and crisps. I knew all the calories, fat etc but previously it hadn't stopped me stuffing 700 calories worth of chocolate down my neck at…
  • I play touch rugby and generally it's just overall fitness which you need. You could work on shuttle runs and short sprints but I'd suggest you just enjoy it! Have a ggreat time! B x
  • I would get a rowing machine and do my running and walking outdoors! But that's just me!!
