I for one cannot understand why grown ups get so worked up about verbage for diets. I'm allergic to soy and gluten. I also am sensitive to sugar so I say I eat "clean" meaning I can't eat a lot of overly processed food. I eat a lot too, most days 2000 calories and up.

Beats me! I just finally accepted I need 2000 calories or up a day! I lose on 2000 and maintain a bit over 2000. Eating is important and so is listening to your body. A nutritionist once told me he never ever put anyone on any # under 1700 calories a day as it isn't healthy for the brain and vital organs in the long term.…

I eat 2000-2200 a day give or take! I lose on 2000 and maintain a bit over 2000. I snack all day as I also am very active and need a lot of food! Anyway here's some of what I snack on: Lara bars Orange slices String cheese or a portion of cheese if I just buy a block Hummus & pretzels, string beans, carrots celery Celery…

this is the most inspiring thread I have found on MFP! Hooray for 2000 calorie eating and health.

I should add that when I do want to slim down a little I set myself for .5lbs (half a pound) a week and stick to 2000 calories. So it is slow but easily maintained, gradual and a gentle way for the body to shed a little extra cushion when summer comes. I used to be so hard on myself and push my body when I was younger. It…

Love this thread! I find so many women eat way too little calories and it makes me question myself sometimes :( . I eat between 1700-2200 a day depending on activity level. If I am working out consistently (5-6 days a week including lifting and cardio) then I am around 2,000-2,200. I maintain on over 2000 and lose if I eat…

Wow I eat A LOT more than everyone else! My low carb protocol is 100g or under a day (35% or less of my daily intake). I also keep my calories between 1700-2000 a day. Breakfast: 1/2 C oats, 1 C blueberries 1C plain greek yogurt, 3 tbs shredded coconut Lunch: Lettuce wraps with chicken cold cuts, 1/4 avocado, 1 slice swiss…

I watch both. I focus on keeping my carbs under 100g a day/ less than 35% of my daily intake. My calories are between 1500-2000, usually closer to 2000. I'm very active excercising high intensity 5-6 days a week.

I'm trying out low carb starting today! I usually eat 200+ carbs a day and maintain my happy weight easily as I am very active. But I have suffered from an injury the past 6 months that has prevented me from maintaining my usual amount of daily activity. I was advised that 50-75g of carbs a day (20% of my daily intake)…

That's great. My nutritionist has me between 1700-2000 calories a day and hitting specific macronutrient ranges. I'm 5'10 and 145. I workout 4-6 days a week (walking, swimming, Pilate's, light lifting) nothing crazy! I find it is all about balance and if I hit my numbers I'm able to lose .5 a week and maintain the weight I…

A nutritionist would never recommend under 1500 for a healthy and sustainable diet.

I don't believe anything below 1500 would be recommended by a nutritionist. For steady weight loss that can be maintained healthily, at least. My nutritionist has me between 1700-2100 a day plus specific macro #s to hit.

I agree with Kshama. It would help to look at the emotional triggers and find some mental balance. Who doesn't eat too much sometimes? I know I do! I used to beat myself up but the more I acknowledge that a large part of being human is to enjoy life (this includes junk food), the more I relax. I also take a look at what…
