Congrats on your century mark! You keep proving to others that it can be done!

I am reading this while drinking a Diet Coke. I have cut down from 6-8 a day to 1-2, but alsas, without coffee...I need the kick! Also, one of my favorite replacements for DC has been the Special K Strawberry Kiwi lemonade protein powder. Tastes just like Crystal Light, but has 5g of protein for those vegetarians like me…

Hi, I have posted this message in the past, but I am a big fan of Polar (one of their Ambassadors) and they have a wonderful line of HRM's. I have been using their products for about a year and a half. I started with (and most recommend) the FT7 - about $90 to $105, but after 8 months, I graduated to the FT80, which gave…

Great to start and good results! Your results are impressive, but be sure to take the advice from MFP and don't go to extremes n the daily numbers. You want a steady weightloss and be sure not to shut down your body's fat burn cycle by going into a "starvation" mode. Your body can start to defend against this new healthy…

I have been eating as a pescatarian...just a little fish now and then...for over 2 years. Focusing so hard on the restrictions almost ensures that everyday I need to make the right choices. I do not have the moral conviction, but the health benefits have been extreme! Good luck on your journey...make not just vegetarian,…

Today is my day 90...I have the habit!

NSV - Wearing a brand new 34 belt today! Still keeping the old 48 belt in the closet as a reminder...anybody need some belts?

I use the iphone app called runtastic pro and it maps my runs as well as providing incredible stats and a good playlist function. To get my Polar HRM to work with the iphone, I needed to add this: http://www.60beat.com/60beat-Heart-Rate-RX-Reciever/dp/B0047EE4TS Works great for the trend tracking, but I still trust my…

In the Spring of 2009 I finally joined a local La Fitness, signed up for Weight Watchers for Men online and bought a Polar FT7 HR monitor. On 4/27/09, I weighed a bit over 275 lbs. (at 5’ 4”) and had stopped any regular exercise routine. My health was a major issue and I had problems ranging from borderline (essentially…

It took me 2 years to complete my couch to 5K transformation and I just ran the race last Sunday (29:39). I spent a lot of time in the gym over the last 2 years and I dramatically changed my lifestyle to a healthy nutrition approach and made fitness a daily part of my life. To be honest, it took such a long time to…

Egg beater/egg white omelets with light cheese and lots of veggies! English muffin or wheat toast are your best bet for breads and add a fruit cup/cottage cheese and fruit for dessert!

What a tremendous achievement, but the next quest has begun...keep everything in perspective and ease into your maintenance. Change your MFP goals and STILL follow a plan (just add a little more calories each (no binges, no unhealthy atmospheres) and a little less required calories burned each day - 5 less minutes of…

Nothing feels better than changing a belt. Kind of makes sure that you are the only one that day that really gets the NSV! Today I am handing over my 36 belt (was on that plateau for about a year) and putting it on the shelf with the 38...40...42...44...46...and 48 victories! Anybody need a belt? :-)

If you get the FT7, not only can you upload you data for analysis on polarpersonaltrainer.com, you can join challenges and participate in a great fitness community! For the upload on the FT7, you will need an optional accessory called a Flowlink (about $50). I do not work for Polar, but I am one of their customer…

I have belonged to La Fitness for the last 26 months...I took the "free" initial session and never looked back..I have always kept a basic lifting routine, I had a lot of damage to undo...the results now speak for themselves...I love La Fitness...I can be my own motivator and educator, but it took an absolute ton (or…

I can only credit MFP with "the last 10", (I was on WW online for men for over a year) but I can really say that the MFP is something I can use for a very long time. I did not like when WW changed and I was lost for a good 6 months until a friend found this site. I love how it credits me for working so hard in the gym...I…

Sounds like your body is countering all the good work you are doing. The body is smart...it learns! - Try to shake up your routine...if you are eating healthy...have that light breakfast for dinner one day and a high protein breakfast the next. - Change your workout regimen. If you have been heavy into cardio, try some…

I am a big fan of BNS's Syntha 6 line. They are an absolute breakfast replacement and I am not trying to snack before lunch. 44g of protein, 12g fat and 400 cals, but with so many bcca's, the calories are burning fast...this is a lean muscle build formula with a good sized portion. And they taste GREAT (chocolate is my…

For getting very accurate measurements of calories burned, Polar has a really great line of HR monitoring watches. They were the first, they are the leaders and the have the most variety of watches. I am one of their ambassadors and I have had great personal results. For someone new to HR monitoring, the FT 4 and FT7 are…

So today after 1 hour of elliptical...my HRM calorie burn read 764. After adding 2 hours of tennis...I added 1046. So after burning 1810 today and adding my allowed 1800...you really think that I am going eat 3610? I am about done for the day with eating and I have 1000 left. I am calling it a day. I ate well.
